Here's the next Jinjer song, Mediator. This is another genuine reaction as I catch up on a Lot of music. I can tell you I loved this song and it's just another reason I love this band!
I'm definitely gonna check it out at some point! I have a ton lined up though, including quite a few more Jinjer reactions. Then I'll hit Wacken (that sounds terrible).
I am a huge Jinjer fan, but this song is over-produced. The musicianship and vocals are technical and on point as always, but the end result is too "slick", even for Jinjer. The "soul", so to speak, has been largely sucked out by the engineers and post-production. A band as intricate as Jinjer benefits from a clean sound, but part of what made intricate albums like Mahavishnu Orchestra's Inner Mounting Flame stay exciting 50 years later is how raw the album sounds. This is part of the reason I rarely watch Jinjer's official videos....that bit more rawness in the live videos really fills in the nooks and crannies. They sound so great live....super clean and yet still a bit dirty. Fantastic. So happy to have seen them live. While Inner Mounting Flame could definitely benefit from some modern production, I'm hoping future Jinjer recordings....and really the entire metal genre as a whole, is studio engineers amd production consider not forgetting what holds true for many musicians....sometimes the most important note is the one you elect NOT to play. Cheers.
@@TheKagedReview they are working on it last I heard (Tati and Eugene have talked about it) but they have been touring heavily too. I can't imagine it's been easy since they do most of their work in Kiev.
