Perfect that you said you'd dive down the rabbit hole at the end of this, because you're about to find out that you're a piece steel being pulled by an electromagnet. As you hear new tracks from them, you'll find out that this band's diversity makes them collectively just as good as she is. Pisces typically gets introduced so that we can let her kick you in the teeth, but it is neither the band's or her best song by about 75%. Perennial live at Wacken is almost always the perfect follow up because it shows proof of her skills, but also shows her off in terms of personality and stage presence. You'll find her to be 3 parts angel, demon and diva along the way. She's also a different brand of gorgeous in each song. SUBBING
So, time to learn Stevie a thing - this doesn't damage her voice at all. In fact, this is pretty natural to someone who has trained their voice with false folds to be able to do something like this. We've been waiting for a long time for you to pop your metal cherry, so I have a couple suggestions - if you don't fuck with this, don't let it spoil you for other metal, because this is stupendously unique. Second, the duality is kind of the point of the song, dichotomy between soft and hard and how that relates to Pisces and all that. Look up the lyrics and do some research on it, and it'll become clear. Finally, welcome. I may just join patreon to start sending our man down the Tool rabbit hole.
@@stevie.knight If you dive into Jimjer, you will more than likely find yourself liking the group. You found out why Pisces is the starting point, it shows off Tatiana's range of ability and is the track that put them into the light. There are softer songs, heavier songs and blends like this one. A lot of their songs also have a deeper meaning/root to them. There is no shame is breaking out the lyrics.
Was wondering how long it'd take for you to get this one requested. This is like a YT reactors rite of passage at this point. Tatiana is suuuuuper talented, you can tell she's not straining or struggling when she does the heavy voice cause you can see how relaxed her throat is. Your favorite part in this was also mine. If you're gonna do more Jinjer, highly recommend Teacher Teacher.
@@MrGrifter123 so? People reacting dont react to other reactions lol. I watch reactions videos since the last 18 months or so and only discovered that band last month.
There's video of her doing this dry, it sounds like you would expect it to sound, she's not massively processed but she is getting help filling out the sound.
“I prefer the sweet Jinjer.” The Jinjer Army will be coming to respectfully disagree, I’m guessing. Tatiana is a powerhouse of a vocalist. But harsh vocals aren’t for everyone. If a vocalist who growls has good technique, they’re not hurting themselves. That’s why she can easily flip back and forth between the two. Plus, they tour almost nonstop and she sounds just as great live (and is a total shy sweetheart to meet). Go for “Teacher, Teacher” next, maybe?
For me, it's the contrast that is so riveting. And the fact that she's so good at both. I think most songs take advantage of that and have a good mix. I will say, she is one of the few growlers that I don't mind and can listen to nonstop.
Wait I see you in every jinjer video as well, ik I see this one guy who has a lot of knowledge on tati almost seems obsessive ngl, but damn is it nice seeing familiar people on every video XD
The reason why her growl seemed fake to you: You instinctively expect that someone making this sort of sound will be in a lot of strain and it will show in their face and neck, veins and tendons popping up and all that, BUT she uses actual good singing technique, so her face and neck are relaxed. It looks off, because many metal singers _don't_ have good technique, they just rend their vocal chords and it shows.
Wdym vocal frys definitely use vocal Chords. Yes she does them well and can go back in for the with different vocal styles which means that she is extremely talented.
This is real. She actually does sound like this in live performance. She is beyond talent. Go Jinjer . Moral of this , don't let a pretty face fool you .
"Is this real?"... A very common reaction to hearing Tatiana for the first time. Yes, it's real. She's a full blown beast. Very few men can do this type of vocals well, and even fewer women. And nobody... NOBODY, male or female does it better than Tati.
Mikael akerfeldt from opeth or randy Blythe from lamb of god, or joe duplainer from gojira. Tatiana is amazing g but I feel I have to give best growls to these guys. No disrespect
Christian Älvestam from Scar Symmetry also is absolutely insane; HIIIIIIGGGHHLLLLLYYY recommend their first three albums [before Chris left] He can go from like pop-ish style vocals, to like hardcore punk vocals all the way to fucking death growls and shit it's so good. So good.
Man everyone loves trolling people with this track. It's like a right of passage for reactors. For the record, this is not a great track to start your rock journey to. Tatiana is insanely talented but this type of metal is not a way to introduce people to rock. For Hip Hop fans making a transition to rock music I always recommend Rage Against The Machine. Killing In The Name is the quintesential Rage track but there's other great ones too Bulls On Parade, Down Rodeo, Guerrila Radio. Zach is a lyricist, the Hip Hop influence is deep and dude can spit. Plus Tom Morello's heavily funk inspired guitar makes an easy transition for Hip Hop fans. Give them a try.
When she is growling for this, her quotes are “scale armor belies, virgin innocence and one being brings life and the other runs for for death” both these references are referred to the zodiac sign Pisces
You just saw the best band in the world. The whole band is incredibly tainted and super tight live. Tatiana of course is in the god tier of vocalist in any genre right now. She also has a powerful stage presence. As for her voice she is not wrecking it as she is not using her vocal cords for the growls. Not all metal has growling though Jinjer is almost always extreme vocals somewhere in their songs. You need to check them out live, suggest Perinneal Live Wacken 2019 or Who is Gonna Be the One Live official. Great reaction and ready to see more of your journey.
This. Stevie you need to listen to some Rage. Zach De La Rocha can fuckin' spit. Dude's done straight up Hip Hop tracks with the likes of KRS. Killing In The Name is a great song but doesn't really display that lyricism. I always recommend Down Rodeo or Bulls On Parade for that first Rage track.
Has he done RAtM? But Jinjer has some really good lyrics. He needs to pull up lyrics besides the video or a lyric video.. some viewers won't like it not being an official video.
The Metal History breakdown: EARLY Bands: Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Pantera, Metallica,...any of these 70's and 80's songs are the OG's of Heavy Metal...Not Rock..Metal /Enjoy
when you hear other bands you ill see why she is queen for us, her tallent is beyond aniything ive heard from other bands female fronted, nad the players...bro guitarr, bass, drums just 4 very tallented people ,its a band of a generation! try Live at Wacken - Perrenial to see them live , chek the lyrics she writes deep and with tallent too
Glad to see you diversifying man. I don't think I've commented in your channel before but I've been watching and subscribed for awhile. Truth be told I'm not really into rap with a few exceptions like hopsin, NF, tech9 etc but I still watch your reactions to other rappers to kind of educate myself on the culture and diversify my music catalog. I might not like most rap but I'll never really know til I listen right? Respect man. :)
Its a perfect interpretation of the duality of the starsign Pisces and the personality struggles we have :) the voices are the perfect contrast. She's the only growler I know with such sublime transitions
This song is about the zodiac sign Pisces and its bipolar nature: a dark and a bright side. That's why it bounces between the "angelic and devil shit". The singer herself, Tatiana, is a Pisces. Great reaction as always, you've introduced me to a long variety of rap artists. It's nice to see this the other way around, like I'm showing you a metal artist I like.
Ive seen them live and they sound amazing.. yes that is all her!! Chatted with her at the concert and very humble the entire band as well.Tatiana has so much range its crazy. And she isn't singing from the vocal folds, its coming from down deep and done wrong can ruin a voice she is self taught from the Ukraine..great reaction man
3:56 "That's what Heavy Metal is, uh?" No... that's one small facet of Heavy Metal. There's gotta be as many sub-genres of metal as there are genres of music. Jinjer is described predominately as Metal Core (with many influences), their website however describes them as Progressive Groove Metal.
She has Bars. Watch "Teacher Teacher". Also "Who is gonna be the one", "Perennial", and "Scissors". They have alot of songs and they are all good. Especially live.
I Love watching reactions to this song! You have to react to Jinjer's Who is Gonna Be The One - live version. You will really get to hear just how low she can go! 😁
There are many styles of heavy metal, this is just one type. This is really her singing, they are amazing in concert! There are other types that are much more melodic. Here is a list of other frequently hard rock/metal/amazing female singers: Nightwish - "Ghost Love Score, Wacken 2013" - Symphonic Metal (Finland), 15m+ Views, Female Singer - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-JYjIlHWBAVo.html Nightwish - "Romanticide, Wacken 2013" - 4m+ Views - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zz_7OCCQlXs.html Diana Anakudanova - "Wicked Game" - (Russia) - Recommended by Dimash, They have the same agent (Igor), ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7jv-DQnf2UY.html Unleash the Archers - "Awakening" (Canada) - Power Metal - 7.9m+ Views, Female Singer - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gqUPGa15Oto.html "the Warning" - A hard rock band of 3 sisters out of Mexico, heavily influenced by Classic Rock - Try the song "Dust to Dust, Live at Lunaro" - 600k+ Views, Keeping rock alive for the next generation - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-TeIbG8nkOiU.html "Band-Maid" - a Japanese power metal band, all-female, try the song "Dominiation" - 2.6m+ Views, ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-QbyQCJn6rYg.html "Lovebites" - a Japanese power metal band, all-female as well, try the song "Shadowmaker" - 132k+ Views, ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xYdJHaqy_JM.html "Rammstien" - an 'industrial metal' band out of Germany, very unique, do live videos as they aggressively block official videos. Recommend "Mein Tell" as a starting point - They do probably the best stage show of any band I have ever seen.
The type of vocals she’s doing won’t ruin her voice - in fact, you can tell she’s doing it so properly that it won’t fuck up as much as lots of other singers who sing improperly.
She won’t miss up her voice by doing that she was made for it she’s a freaking goddess for crying out loud and one of the many that can master that technique
Metal is a VERY broad genre of music with a variety of sub-genres. Jinjer is more of a modern style of metal. I recommend you check out Metallica - "Master of Puppets" - that's typically the most recommended "starter" song for those that don't know much about metal. Metallica falls under "thrash metal", which is known more for speed and aggression, but there's a lot of variety with bands that fall into that and I think you'd be surprised how much you'd like them. Also, I'd go with Iron Maiden - "Hallowed Be Thy Name" (live 1982). They'd fall more under the "power metal" style which typically focuses a lot on melody. These 2 bands are arguably the biggest metal bands world-wide and will give you somewhat of a taste of what else is out there. Not all metal is "screaming" (although some exists), and much of it has very deep lyrical content and great musicianship.
If you want to dwelve into heavy metal, first start off at its origins: Black Sabbath Electric Funeral, Fairies Wear Boots, and Planet Caravan will show the band's individual talents. Then, maybe graduate to Metallica from there. Then, you'll be ready for Pantera's Domination (live in Moscow), which will rip your skull off from in my opinion the heaviest breakdown in the history of metal.
I think you would fuck with Hollywood Undead anything off of Swan Songs or V album perfect blend of rock and rap on some songs Or just go for any Linkin Park/ Dead by Sunrise song you haven't heard for Chester Bennington's icon voice and screams
If you want to try transitioning from hip hop to metal, against many opinions, I would suggest _some_ nu metal. It gets hate for coming off as pretentious, over-simplified, and angsty (aka "emotional"). However, if you don't mind how some bands incorporate grooves into heavy guitars and occasional rapping, nu metal may be the way to go. Suggestions: Korn, Slipknot, Deftones, Soulfly (first 3 albums were nu metal), Rage Against the Machine (I say they aren't nu metal, but came before), and Linkin Park (Hybrid Theory and Meteora albums). What she did in the chorus may fall under "death growls," and your reaction is highly expected: what the fuck; she sounds like a dude; sounded demonic; this is fake. Very common. And trust me, most bands rely heavily on this vocal style with almost no clean vocals. There's a technique to keep your voice safe from harm. This is a style of vocals popular mainly in extreme metal music, but not all metal. Specifically death metal, black metal, some thrash metal, and grindcore. Hardcore punk and metalcore (not deathcore, that's more death metal influenced) uses shouts rather than harsh vocals, so it may be easier to get into, with such bands like Hatebreed, As I Lay Dying, Killswitch Engage, Trivium, and Light the Torch (formerly called Devil You Know, second former singer of Killswitch Engage). For other Jinjer songs, I'd suggest "Teacher, Teacher" and "Judgement/Punishment." One has some hip hop influence, the other has reggae influence.
I mean if you want proof of other females being able to do the same you can check out War Eternal or Nemesis by Arch Enemy. Nemesis is preformed by their original vocalist Angela Gossow and then War Eternal is preformed by their current vocalist Alissa White-Gluz. I'll be honest no cleans on those songs but they have the same harsh vocals.
Seen them live, and yea she can belt... It’s all technique man. There is a fold of tissue on Either side of the vocal chords, called false folds. When she open her mouth wide, it’s to allow the scream to come from the false folds, instead of using the actual vocal chords. It’s all diaphragm and the false folds. The trick is relaxing your vocal chords so they don’t get fried, which would happen after one song, really. I don’t know, people, I’m a fucking drummer, I just hit shit!! That’s what I’ve been told! Keep on the Metal journey! It’s not just screams and death metal. There are plenty of amazing vocalists, in the genre, who sing clean, and quite beautifully...🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Scale armour blaze Virgin innocence One being brings life Another runs for death Scale armour blaze Virgin innocence One being brings life Another runs for death
🙏🙏🙏😂😂😂 Man your reaction cracked me up ... one of my favorites... yea this lil one is talented ... it scared the shit out of me the 1st time 🙏🙏😂 God Bless
I remember going to listen to the studio version, cause so many people were talking about this song. I thought 'Oh, a nice low-voiced lady and a screamo guy. Cool.' It wasn't until I actually watched the video that I realized both voices came from the same person. XD
Might just subscribe if you start heading down the metal rabbit hole 👀 this is my first video I've seen from you. Enjoyed the content, good luck to you sir
As a fan of Hip-Hop you know you can sometimes catch bars that may be too quick for others who don't really listen to it as much as you do? That's how it is with growl vocals for metal heads. With time you get to understand and catch the words they are saying and it just becomes second nature.
She's not gonna fuck her shit up. Look how relaxed her neck is the whole time. It takes a lot of work to do that correctly, but yes you definitely can injure yourself pretty bad doing it wrong.
Love your reactions bro. You for real started off strong with Jinjer lol. Might as well knock out Popular Monster by Falling in Reverse while you're in Shockville
