Complex writing, poly-rhythms, 7 string guitar(Roman), 5 string bass(Eugene) and absolutely next level drums(Vlad) all fronted by the incredible Tatiana. Thank you!
Here's something you don't know: when they had the old drop C songs together with the new drop A songs in their setlist, Eugene used a 4-string bass. 😉
This is one of the songs Jinjer played yesterday at the Into the Grave festival. My first time attending one of their live concerts and hearing this song.
Retrospection, Wallflower, and Disclosure are all great songs and videos. Retrospection was written for their families who live in eastern Ukraine, who they are unable to see very much due to both the war there for the last nine years, and their touring life. It features Tatiana singing in russian a bit, which is beautiful. Wallflower is about Tatiana's struggles with her introversion. I'm always blown away by how beautifully Tatiana is able to express herself in a second language, that is not only from the other side of the world, but uses a completely different alpabet. She's a poet.
Some lyrics from Retrospection: Slip up and fall straight into the arms of my mother Break down and go right into the healing hands of my father It's been a while since I came home My heart is elsewhere as I roam and roam Until I find myself alone Childhood of misery is lifelong injury No, it's not for me. What I've always had Father's love and mother's hand
And some from Wallflower: The outside is hostile And the waves hit me hard So I climb into my shell To lick my wounds again Silent and satisfied Misunderstood and proud Biting on my tongue In fear of saying something wrong
Thank you! And yes, I definitely am gonna be checking out more Jinjer soon. They actually announced a show coming up near me and I knew right away we had to get tickets. 😁
@@nikkireviews That is awesome! You will not regret it! If they do a meet and greet, I recommend doing it, they are very cool, kind, and humble people!
Home Back and Wallflower OMV’s are ones I think you’ll like alot.Glad you are delving deeper into Jinjer and Tatiana’s lyrics especially.Good reaction.Your early In This Moment reaction I had three suggestions.Pisces the live session by Jinjer,The Pot by Tool audio only and Wicked Game by Diana Ankudinova, she will blow your mind. Thanks for considering.
Jinjer are a huge favorite of mine, and have grown significantly in popularity, but even they were underdogs once, I just know that there are plenty of amazing artists hoping for just a slither of a chance of recognition, possibly in one of your reaction videos Nikki, so I'm open to seeing new and upcoming artists in the poll
I totally agree, Jinjer are an incredibly talented band, but as you say, we'll never know what we're missing if emerging musicians aren't given their shot
Tati can switch back and forth whenever she wants to. The song is basically telling you top not believe everything you have been taught or raised to believe in. The religious tone you picked up on is because the song is about Catholic school with nuns and corporal punishment. Though the teachers are just doing what they feel is right and what they were taught to believe in. Authority can be misled too. When you do come back to Jinjer, try Homeback. It's about the fighting in their Ukraine homeland in 2014, but still applies today.
For the poll, suggest all bands that you haven't reacted to yet. Whether that be a band that has been in a poll before, or a brand new band to the poll. A couple suggestions. Nemophila with Dissension. Ayreon with The Day That The World Breaks Down
I would like you to react to a song by Diana Navarro " El perdón " She is a very versatile Spanish singer. She sings different musical styles. She has a melismas and a capacity to sing with very long notes. She always transmits with her face and gestures. Best regards
Nice one 🤘 I would also recommend listening to their latest album 'Wallflowers', it is even more unique and unpredictable! (just for yourself I mean 😉)
You’re going to have to get used to those split second tonal shifts and unruly timing changes - that’s what Jinjer does best. Try reacting to their songs Wallflower or Vortex. They’re both a little less “shifty” in that respect.😊
