I can't say with 100% certainty, but the timing matches up as to why he switched. In Europe on tour, someone boosted some of Vlad's drums. He's playing an OD in the OMV for Call Me a Symbol, which is the tour where the drums were stolen (I think). Shows after that tour, he started playing Jacksons. Roman's ODs are priceless and Jacksons are not.

Incredible live. One of the better live shows I have seen....and after a few decades that's well over 100 shows.
