I spent most of my teen years on death metal, black metal, some thrash metal, industrial, and hardcore. This is home for me. However, perhaps it’s easier to take in the vocals if you think of them as rap vocals delivered through distortion. They are far more rhythmically oriented than melodically oriented, and thinking of them as a rhythm instrument may make acceptance of them easier.
