Tatiana lures people in with her vocal range, but the rest of the guys keep people coming back for more. There isn’t a weak member of this band. Glad to see someone giving Eugene the attention he deserves. And yes, they ARE sick as hell live. You’re right about metal fans just wanting people to listen to and enjoy the music we love. I for one am surrounded my closed-minded country music fans, so when I get to watch someone experience something I love, it’s deeply personal.

I couldn't have said it better myself Jen. I have been a metalhead for decades. I do listen to other genres as well, but I always come back to metal. Jinjer is a very unique band, because they have a crew that are SO VERY TALENTED, that even with a vocals like Tati, the band isn't overshadowed by her beautiful singing and screams. She is one of a kind, but the band as a whole is one of the best in the business, no questions asked! First time checking out the channel Josh, but I will be here for more. Stay safe and keep up the great work.

Eugene is the bass players name, he's been with the band since the beginning. Honestly one of the most underrated bass players in the world. This entire band are some of the greatest individual musicians in the world, but when you put them together you get something like this. Jinjer is the next big thing in metal music. Been following them for awhile now and so glad to see they are finally getting the recognition they deserve.
@valeriedavot9074

The bassist's name is Eugene Abdiukhanov. He's indeed a bass God, using a lot of slapping and tapping, and very often using it as a melodic instrument. If you check for example "Perennial" (live), you'll notice that in the slow part, the guitarist is leaving the melody to Eugene, and that is beautiful. Same with the intro of "retrospection". Fun fact, he was a judo champion in Ukraine too.
@Module79L

What many people don't know is that after Eugene's tapping part, Roman starts his own tapping part but unfortunately the majority of the camera people miss it or don't film it. : (

I went to see them live in November. They are, in fact, incredible. I did a meet and greet with them. Course, being a bassist, Eugene is my hero, so I was all about him. Told him his work was near and dear to me. Tatiana looks over and says, and I quote, "It's always bass players! No one is ever a vocalist. It's the easiest one to play!" To which everyone had a good laugh. I told her I couldn't sing if my life depended on it. Eugene said he didn't really expect to get so much attention. For what little time I got to speak with them, they all seemed light-hearted and genuinely happy to meet with fans. Sadly, they weren't letting anything be brought into the venue from outside because of the COVID shenanigans, so the best I could get was an autographed poster. They did let us take pictures with the group, though. They both sit framed on my wall. Had a good time, they're a fantastic band. 10/10, would recommend. I am absolutely gonna go see them again next time they roll through.

Awesome. For us "Jinjer-reaction-viewers" (Jinjer reactions have basically become an own genre now ;) ) it's really nice to see a reaction video that doesn't JUST focus on Tatianas voice. Most other reaction channels mention "the other musicians are awesome too" but then go directly back to Tatiana. Really refreshing to see someone analyzing a little of what the other guys are doing too. Because they are just as awesome as Tatiana is. :)

So, in case your wondering, every one of Jinjer's musical parts are written by the instrumentalists. The song is almost completely finished before before they hand the music over to Tatiana. She then composes words to what they have written. They have stated this in their interviews. They are utterly amazed on what she can do with their music. So, yeah, these are written very differently then most songs.

What I love about this band is (apart from nailing just about every song) is there seems to be no egos. Plus the added fan service of putting out bass, drum or guitar playthrough videos. God damn, I love Jinjer.

Check out their live performance of Judgement & Punishment - love the instrumentals in that even more than Tati's vocals and it is one of their best songs for the lyrics and vocal performances too, and shows off yet another vocal style from Tati. And even if just for your own enjoyment you should check out the bass playthrough with tabs for the song Eugene just released. If you want to analyze it though, non-musicians like myself would probably enjoy your insights. ;) They are definitely influenced by Mudvayne both in the music and vocals - Tati used Dig as the first song she practiced emulating when she was learning to growl, before moving on to Laid to Rest by LoG.

And just as a preemptive heads-up: If you might like to pronounce “Wacken” like the locals, one would say “Vah-ken.” (In German, “W” is pronounced like “V.”) I’m only mentioning that part just since most folks seem to stumble over that one a bit.

Glad to see you caught a lot of the parts that make me smile in this song, but something that every musician misses in the very beginning. You can actually hear the bass string rattle against the frets as Eugene just slams against it. Quite excellent commentary and perhaps by the third or fourth video you really should do a live one and get blown away on yet a other level. Thank-you for making my day.

Really enjoyed your video reaction. It makes a big difference when someone has some background in music, whether from playing an instrument themselves or just having spent years surrounding themselves with different musical styles. I agree about the positivity and there is something really fun about seeing someone else discovering music that you feel passionate about yourself. Glad you are enjoying Jinjer. If you want to see Eugene doing some more of that melodic or clean style on the bass while Tatiana is singing, the live version of Perennial at Wacken is a good listen. For a heavy bass line with amazing riffs Judgement and Punishment is brilliant but honestly, you could probably pull a Jinjer song out of a hat and thoroughly enjoy it.

Loving the videos mate, so much better hearing someone who has something meaningful or knowledgeable to say about the music! If you want some local bands to check out, there's heaps of Aussie talent in the metal scene. Ne Obliviscaris - And Plague Flowers The Kaleidoscope. Masterclass in composition. Caligula's Horse - Bloom/Marigold, or Graves if you really want an epic of a song. Reliqa - The Halfway Point. Much smaller band but so deserving of more recognition, they've got a fair bit of spoken/rap in their music. Ebonivory - Explosions After Dark, or Patting The Black Dog. Rivers of Nihil - Where Owls Know My Name. Not Aussie, but such a banger and the video is too good.

Tati is a beast and Jinjer is an awesome band,- we all know that by now. What really makes the difference for me is something most people seem to overlook. Jinjer, - being from the easternmost part of Europe bordering on Russia and what is the beginning of the Middle East,- their traditional music is based around folk tunes and folk dances rooted in a wide variety of off meters. Allmost none of their songs have any kind of straight backbeat to them or in them. Tons of 3/4, 5/4, 7/4, 12/8, 9/8, 6/4, 6/8, 15/8 etc,- but almost no 4/4 or 2/4 anywhere. If you sit down and start tapping your foot to any of their songs and then start counting meters and bars you´ll quickly find that they don´t adher to standard forms of doing rock, pop and metal songs,- yet everything they do is done so smoothly and with such fluency that nobody seems to notice. I have by now watched quite a few Jinjer reactions,- including from various musicians´s channels,- on rare occasions do even the musicians note anything funky going on,- be it Sarah of radiosomewhere or anybody else,.- which to me is very impressively done by Jinjer. Pisces is a very melodically flowing poppy song, but even when they chop things up and go percussive, though heavy and in your face, it´s still as groovy and flowing as a RHCP or Rage Against The Machine song. I´ve heard women growl ,fry and scream before,- it´s just that Tati is an absolute master at it, I´ve heard funky beats before, I´m a born metalhead so the guitar playing is nothing new to me but Jinjer´s combination of it all mated with their uncanny second nature sense of what to the rest of us would be off beat and strange rhythms stands out to me as being unique. And because they´re so god at it and it comes so naturally to them even the musicians don´t notice something that should be screaming in their faces! An awesome band and a high-level display of consumate musicianship. Only serves to heigthen my respect for them.

Nice reaction. Keep listen to Jinjer, You will be amazed every time! By the way, Eugene, the bass player, mentioned that he is influensed by... Mudvayne bass player Ryan Martinie So you were right on point, when you said that they remind you Mudvayne ;)

The high stuff your hearing over the guitar is Eugene. He's tapping on the upper register. At first I thought it was a harmonic interval but that is a bit later in the song. But it's on a track on a laptop that's sitting next to Vlad on the drums. They have several overlay tracks on a laptop that Vlad cues at start of song. A

You should definitely check out Unleash the Archer's album Apex. The band goes through bass player quickly, but their bass player for this album was insane. His name is Nikko Whittworth, and he plays a lot of fifths tuning bass. He also has a really gnarly righthand technique. You can see it in the studio playthrough of Awakening. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gqUPGa15Oto.html

A huge inspiration for them is Guano Apes. I'd recommend Rain or Open Your Eyes from them. You'll hear a lot of what Jinjer pulled from them in those songs, primarily the latter. And yes, that bassist is amazingly underrated.
