As it should, "the good guy drives off in the sunset" is so exgaustingly boring, we need bittersweetnes, sacrifice and compeling narative if they want this show to be remembered longterm, and succeed in general.
After watching the series, it's really cool to see the theories people had about the show, and how some were great predictions and others missed the target completely! Something about Vi standing for Violet, a normal name, seeming obvious with hindsight while predictions that Jinx's eye color would be changed by the shimmer at her breaking point were spot on.
I love Jinx's clothes in this. They are still punk, but more "normal" compared to when she's crazy and covers herself in bullets. I also like the metal rings on her braids.
It could also be Kled's mushroom juice at the same time. It makes people crazy. Kled is crazy. Teemo has posion mushrooms. And they are purple. Teemo big villian behind all, mushroom godfather of Zaun confirmed?
I remember Ekko saying how he fell for Jinx in his interactions with her before she went insane. If we could see those very scenes where Ekko started to catch feelings for Jinx, that'd be pretty neat. Shoot we could even see him as well as the last member of the gang before it all crumbled down
I expect something like jinx and vi getting taken in by a big crime gang, then escaping and establishing in the arcade, then a fck up where vi joins the guards and jinx wonders around in the city and gets in ekko's gang for a brief time before going full mad. Man I'm so excited for this series
EKKO is the last member of the gang, thats is whole plot, how he miss everyone, and following the number theory that is upside, being the eleven is pretty latr
Hanging shoes on a wire also is a mark for someone who died due to Gang violence, accidental hits on drive bys, etc. Although the deaths are gang related, most of the shoes are from children and/or people just being at the wrong place at the wrong time. That’s at least what it was for us.
This is sadder than those who couldn't afford a funeral as other comments mentioned I only heard of it being used as a drug dealer's calling card before. In any case, it's just sad but this is heartbreaking! 😭
Another meaning to shoes hanging from a wire is as a memorial to someone's death. Specially used in poorer areas as they can't afford a proper funeral.
Vi actually says "Vi stands for victory" as a victory line in LoR, and Jinx says, "Jinx stands for jinx, duh?", So this whole, Victory and Power, and Jinx being renamed by herself actually makes a lot of sense.
@@thatgreenguyplayer2 in eu ( at least) it means drug dealer... i didnt know about that funeral thing ... funny to see how it means something else in different parts of the world
It's so interesting to know it's also a funeral thing. In my country that's how you know drugs are sold or a determined area belongs to a certain gang.
I always thought their names came from Roman numerals. Vi would actually be 6 (VI) Jinx 10 (X), probably as part of some experiment, as in Subjects VI and X. That would explain the tattoo on Vi's face and why the X of Jinx tends to be central part of her graffiti.
@@franek3912 Sorry to disappoint. That would have been ages ago. Camille was transformed in her 20s and is 80 years old now. That would have been more than 50 years ago and Jinx and VI are very young.
@@SpaceDragon14 Yep, (When Vi comes up to the shopkeeper with a blue-haired skin)"You look like your sister, oh wait I`m not supposed to talk about that."
I suspect this cause she enhanced by hex tech (magic refined).while Jinx is enhanced by shimmer (as we see in show not her choice but made for by Silco to save her)
Something that I’ve never heard any mention is that when Vi hits Jinx, her hand is open, as though she was slapping her, I think the sound design was really sneaky.
Ah yes, as we can clearly see, Jinx is totally sane there. And fuzzy brows will definitely grow up to be one of the bad guys. Oh man. Thank you for being willing to make guesses on this! It's really interesting how well they managed to mislead fans.
I'm sensing some sort of a new game mechanic with Jinx and Vi (exclusively) against each other. (In WR terms, a Nemesis Duel between them) And voice lines updates, which I'm pretty excited for this series! 🤩
@@lordsnia2152 I know. That was with Caitlyn as well. But I'm thinking exclusive for these two specifically. For lore purposes. Since with Vi and Caitlyn vs. Jinx, it's more of a duty/job, but we need one where it's personal. Just between the two of them.
Would be freaking creepy if Jinx had a split personality during this series, and the blue eyed jinx was the one saying to her pink persona 'all your fault'
I kind of wonder that myself. It would make a lot more sense with Jinx's voice line, "You think I'm crazy, you should meet my sister" almost as if she was referring to herself in a twisted way. Though at the same time, it is weird in game that Vi doesn't seem to remember Jinx as being her sister. Maybe she forgot Jinx was her sister and that's why Jinx thinks Vi is crazy.
After watching the first 3 episodes of arcane I think jinx might of have gone crazy a little bit as a child being exposed to gruesome violence, death and being excluded or not wanted for help due to jinxing everything a majority of the time and in the 3d ep her eyes were a light purple so I think to an extent she was already kinda crazy but the purple toxins might’ve have made her lose it even more
I personally think it would be funny just to have Vi stand for some super normal name and she just thought it would sound cooler cause angst and all that. Like Victoria or something. And Pow could be just cause smol jinx liked guns.
Jinx getting the name Jinx because she jinxes everything could be interesting. What I found most interesting about this is the pink/purple stuff related to her eyes. That is HUGE and pretty cool. I'm so excited to see this show and it's gonna be awesome to see reviews of it as well
My theory for what happens to jinx is that her and her crew were trying to make a name for themselves as a new gang, and it all goes well until eventually the crazy haired kid betrays them to save himself (possibly because jinx does something to piss off a rival gang) and it all falls apart, thus we get the "all your fault" line and the scene where vi punches jinx. I also think we'll hear "all your fault" twice, once when vi punches jinx at the beginning of the series, and another when they're older and all the purple stuff is ever where. The boy starts getting involved with the purple chem and the wardens show up, and that's how vi inevitably joins the wardens, she helps take down the purple chem user. Jinx also gets involved to try and stop him and butts heads with vi, ultimately leading to jinx sacrificing herself to stop him, using the purple chem to power up her weapons and possibly herself. As she loses her last bits of sanity from the chem we hear the second "all your fault" either from vi giving a distressed and sad/angry "all your fault", which is why it haunts jinx, the first time she heard it it was because vi was angry and hated her, the second was when she was grieving for her. Or we're gonna hear the second when jinx is pretty much insane from the chem and is attacking everyone in sight. Vi is trying to stop her when jinx tells her that "what happened/this is all your fault" which would haunt her because it might be the last coherent thought she has before she succumbs to insanity. This is my theory on how it's gonna play out, this turned out to be pretty long lmao.
I know everyone is focused on jinx because that is the only view point we get and especially her eyes, but if you look at vi’s eyes they are the same pinkish purple as well. So I think both of them were effected maybe vi was first which caused the shift in her mood towards everyone including jinx to be much more aggressive.
@necrit hanging shoes on a wire in American ghetto neighborhoods also means when a member of the community leaves; may that be death or them getting out.
The gun she has may be a proto-type given it’s early years. In the runeterra video where she’s featured with heimer and ekko - she didn’t have fishbones yet. She had a proto-type.
your vids are awesome, specially for me because we have such a different approach and interpretation! While we agree on the majority of things (which are the most obvious ones), it's really interesting to see your different perspectives in fine details, and i believe to also have info on details you missed
I was thinking the same thing actually! I really don't believe that the eyebrow guy is Warwick. I think Warwick is the blondie they kidnap in the first trailer. And most likely the guy that ends up transforming in the end.
@@Defi4nc3s1 You might be right. But if I'm not mistaken, the blonde guy in the end transforms into something, so I don't really see any connection with either Ezreal or Ekko. He might not even be Warwick, maybe he's one of Singed's first or last experiments. A lot of people speculate that Warwick is the guy in the hat that appears in the first trailer, because they mentioned that the character resembles the face of Warwick's project skin line, so in the end we might all be wrong!
I am currently not playing or watching LoL stuff, but, when I see Necrit and TB covering the trailer for a show staring my first love/main, I watch and hit like.
Can we talk about how Jinx punched metal with bare hands, without noticing the pain that you would go through doing that, and without her knuckles bleeding. Also that rocket launcher of her’s landed on her lap in the previous cinematic without breaking her legs. Are people just this robust in Runeterra, or has she already been experimented on to enhance her body? Thoughts?
@@nanachichi1044 Very true. Thin leather ones, but you right. She could've just hidden the pain. Doesn't explain the whole 'rocket launcher not breaking her knees' thing.
Jinx origin name was actually X standing for the Romanian number 10 for being the 10th member to join and same thing stands for VI's name being the sixth member to join the gang. X was later on switched to Jinx to the fact that she left that gang after VI joining the Wardens, it has nothing to do with Victory nor Power Side note: when the mirror was flipped, theoretically speaking that looks more like Dr.Mundo than WW
When I looked closer on the high score board I noticed something. Vi's highest score is actually her blue essence cost in the store (4800). I just thought that's kinda cool Wonder when will that comment age poorly and she goes down to 3150
RIOT: "Vi and Jinx are sisters!" Everyone else: "Yeah, we kinda assumed that was the case since day 1" Not really a surprise honestly, especially since how heavily the rivalry between the two are. It's like how everyone Knew Dabi was a Todaroki, but never could say definitively without confirmation.
to the sister thing: i knew it for years. "vi stands for vicious" "vi stands for "violence" "Jinx stands for... JINX, derr" kinda obvious since vi and jinx even have a little easter egg ingame AND the background of the splash art of jinx is a destroyed version of vi's.. yea never even mentioned that it maybe could be. other than that: cool video! :)
i mean the other teaser had a lot of clips from different parts of the show and has a lot of easter eggs. Also necrit is sick so he cant speak for 30 minutes straight.
VI also has a quote confirming she has a sister as well. In the hollowing abyss if you play Vi on the scientist side, he will mention somthing about VI's sister. It goes like "hows your sister doing VI... wait are we not supposed to talk about that".
in the new trailer that just came out we can see Vi calling Jinx "Powder" so thats probably her real name! so the fact that Jinx is a fake name is correct! as expected from Necrit
Dont think Vi cheat. Shes just good at punches. I mean if Jinx beat Vi’s score, riot would have to make a melee jinx lmao. But Jinx must be pretty ripped to considering she bring a mini gun and a bazooka on her back.
I think the purple stuff is connected between Jinx and Mundo. Both of them have turned insane, chaotic and hilarious, Mundo just got overdosed with those medicines. I strongly believe that Singed has something to do with this, since Mundo calls him "The famous Farmacist". He may have tested the purple chemical on Mundo to see the effects, then he proceeded to test it on Jinx aswell, since her sister Vi just disappeared from Zaun to join Piltover, which technically left Jinx alone.
My theory is that VI is really a roman numeral 6 that got tattooed on her cheek by some Piltoven person who did things with/to her, maybe even gave her the gloves and taught her to fight (WW quote). We know roman numerals exist in Piltover thanks to Heimer, so it'd make sense if she was part of an experiment in Piltover or even just part of a training class that was supposed to be brainwashed into fighting for Piltover.
I thing that vi beating her high score by a lot more than normal could be because she released a lot of emotion one time in the game, just like jinx does in the short, maybe it could be a foreshadowing that she resents jinx as well or shomething that happend because of her
Shimmer doesn`t "make" people insane or monsters in and of itself. It brings out the "monster" born of the Zaunites` resentment of the Piltie Topsiders who have impoverished, repressed, poisoned and abused the Zaunites for so long! How human psychology works is if you are treated like a monster, an animal who will do anything to achieve power no matter how cruel or criminal eventually that is how you will start to see yourself and behave just to survive!
3:39 In the back left, behind Vi on the wall, that lowkey looks like Fiddlesticks. I could be looking into it a little too much, but that's what it looks like
