Millions idolize JJ Watt on the field as a hero, but watch as he heads back to his hometown fire station with his dad to Beat the Heat and pay tribute to some real heroes.
HEY guys add these to your workout playlist on RU-vid and Spotify. m.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0tH2vPTc-5s.html & m.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-D9YBUr3YPxI.html
I agreed with this until he kneeled during the national anthem that’s just sad no respect for the millions who died for us to do what kneel during the national anthem that just pitiful
@@kolbybrock2584 well thank god kneeling isn’t about the military but about the injustices in the United States. The military deserves very high praise for what they do and kneeling doesn’t involve them. It’s a flag get over yourself.
I’ve been a firefighter for the last 6 years and it makes me happy to watch these videos and read the nice comments you people have to say. It’s not an easy job but it does provide happiness because we get to help people every day.
May i ask, can people volunteer for firefighters training? For example: be the person they save and such things, or they don't use other people for that?
@@Missnoemit It depends on the training and department, i think a rather small portion in the US may, but usually it is considered to be IDLH (Immediate danger to life or health) so they most likely wont.
Not humble lol its rational thinking. Its like a car dealer saying a life guard has a more important job than him cause hes saving lives. Thats not humble thats common sense.
Squadren 32. Some volunteer to do it. At the end of the day it isn't a paycheck to most of them (even me) they do it because they want to. Would we like to get more money yes, is it something we would quit over? Most likely not
William Masterson even though we don't actually need athletes in our lives, athletes work super hard. Becoming an athlete at the pro level is far from easy and the odds of getting to that point are very low, so I think athletes deserve the amount of money they earn.
I can attest to how durable fire helmets on. I work for a local fire department, and during training one day somebody dropped a ladder on my head, and I don't think it did anything but scratch the helmet.
@@AErney51 not all of them. You have leather helmets or you have fiberglass. Not all of them are leather because one leather helmet costs about 800 dollars.
What I love about this is how it shows what we go through. I took my physical agility test for my fire dept and I’m in good shape but it whooped my ass
This kind of thing really means so much to firefighters Nationwide. We do what we do because it is who we are, but every now and again, it is nice to know we are appreciated. JJ Watt. Leading by example.
Check and see if any of your local departments have an explorer program, it's a great step in the door. You can also do station tours or potentially even ride alongs. We're always happy to show people around but the best way is to call in advance and schedule a tour👍
He's one of the nicest and humblest guys around only time he's scary is if your an offensive player but he's all around a great human being and a good role model
Hey, I’m a junior firemen (explorer) for a fire department in New York and I understand what you guys go through, cause we do the same thing that firemen do and I love doing it, thanks you for this video
JJ 'I'm just a guy who chases around ball these are the true guys who save people they're the TRUE HEROES.' Love how you dedicated not only the officers, firefighters and the military, but you're dad as well people like change the world JJ 4 EVER (PACKERS FAN HERE)
I'm glad to see a famous athlete doing something like this. Sometimes it is a thankless job. Not that we do it for a pat on the back but it's nice to give the public a little idea of what the job is like.
As an old crusty retired guy told me years ago, "don't let the fat fool ya!".....Believe you me, I will guarentee these guys have more "pop" than most!
JJ is doing it right. He doesn't let the fortune and fame get to his head and change him as a person. He is the kind of guy you want your kids to idolize.
Having a pro athlete complete this really puts things into perspective! Although, I do consider first responders and military to be pro athletes as well.
