I think what danny is talking about is ghosting, which is caused by a program animation studios in japan use that detects moments where flashing colours or rapid movement might cause seizures and adjusts the frames to correct it so it doesn’t trigger seizures. In turn it seems to frequently overlay frames over eachother
I loved what the anime went for with Gojo after he healed himself from the brink of death. It's a heartbreaking mixture of highness and excitement mixed with despair and regret and I think they really captured it so perfectly.
-44:53 , It’s not that Toji knocked him, it’s more like it’s that for geto to steal another persons cursed spirt he has to fulfill some requirements. Such as killing their owner. Like when he went to steal Rika, he has to kill yuta first. It’s just this is the first time he finds about this rule (Correct me if I’m wrong)
Binding vows (the risk factor) are used for more than just explaining techniques. We see multiple pacts between people nd other pacts imposed on oneself (Sukuna and Yuji/Hakari’s arm)
I’ve been watching Nick’s videos for a couple months now and he would always plug this podcast and I never watched it. Well I finally did like a week ago and I’ve been binging every episode. I fucking love you guys. Never stop doing these.
The space is cool, it just feels a bit empty coming from the old set. I'm not sure if you guya are still adding more decorations but if not, just letting you know. It still looks great but some of the old posters around the shelf would look sick.
The crazy thing is that this season is only just getting started, the current arc is just a warm up. The next arc has the potential to make this the best season of anime ever if MAPPA do it well.
43:34 the way my ears perked up like a dog's just at the mere MENTION of Tengoku Daimakyou. that one is definitely still my pick for anime of the year until JJK actually ends and I can judge it fairly based the entire season. but fr Heavenly Delusion was FANTASTIC and deserves so much more attention. (also no one will vote for Link Click for anime of the year but it's still absolutely incredible, i think this week's episode is going to fuck me up mentally)
JJK season 2 AND the movie because I just watched it for the first time…have gotten me back into watching anime after a long….LONG slump. Years. I haven’t been like this since I watched HxH😩 ChainsawMan got me back into manga a while ago so I’ll always love it for that too
I’m interested to see if they know that hidden inventory ends next week and then after that we’re getting 2 recap eps and one break week So shibuya starts on August 31st😔
also shoutout to Hiromu Arakawa for NOT being a sellout and ending her manga when she wanted it to end, thus closing the door in that world. in a world of borutos and yashahimes and Midnight Suns and the MCU you KNOW she has been approached several times to expand the world and i respect the fuck out of her for never going back. the reason fma is famously known for being perfect is BECAUSE of how rich the plot/world is AND because it has an ending. both of those things have to be true. also on a technical note it would be INSANELY difficult to keep adding to the story considering how much research went into making FMA. chemistry, alchemy, different militaries and their horrible histories, etc etc. Danny, when you finish the series I'll try to link you to just one post about the history of real-life alchemy and it will blow you away just how all of it is masterfully applied in the narrative. arakawa is a genius, genuinely.
21:10 That song is called Chu Chu Lovely Muni Muni Mura Mura Purin Purin Boron Nururu Rero Rero by Maximum the Hormone, which is the group that sang the 3rd ending to Chainsaw Man season 1
Another classic trend is having your main character be a moron so the audience learns when everyone explains it to the main character over and over. Think Luffy. And also the classic Issekai where it's you learn with the character because they are also new to the world.
The "throughout heaven and earth i alone am the honored one" was don perfectly in the anime. And the people complaining about it just shows how they didn't understand the scene at all. The quote is actually a quote from Buddha when he reached enlightenment. And that's why Gojo says it, because he has reached enlightenment. He even says he feels nothing but calm no anger or grudge. He is simply in tune with the world. But people are into jjk only for the hype or the fights. And don't actually pay attention to the story. So when a hype moment in the manga actually requires them to pay attention to the story. They don’t get it, and then get mad when the anime doesn’t sacrifice story to cater to their ignorance.
36:46 Speaking of hand movements, While anime is your guys niche, i think you'd like The Magicians or The OA❤🥰 1:16:45 Claymore deserves a second chance, its fan fase is still going strong💪🏽
Wait, *pauses pod* there's another ninja anime coming out? Like legit ninjas? They actually have another one that's similar to Naruto (which I've been rewatching while waiting on more Boruto chapters/anime)? Even the Kamui word made me think of Naruto. Hope it's good. Hang on. I need to see this. Edit: just saw it and man, it gives me that old 90's/early 2000's anime vibe. I'll definitely try it. Probably read the manga while I wait. It looks good.It does bring me back to waiting for Adult Swim to start my shows bc that's the only way I got to see good anime. I'm very glad I had access to it tbh despite not all of it being good for me. It got me into Inuyasha, which has been such an impactful show to me, and into the kind of anime I love today. Also funny that you mention the Chunin exams bc I'm in the middle of rewatching it atm. And I never liked the food anime guys either Nick.
Bro I literally said in the comment section of another video that blue was pull and red was push and purple was both and then like 10 people came and told me I was wrong smh like I get I’m not that invested in the series so idk everything but I know a spacial vortex when I see it
An anime I would have loved to have a come back is "Servamp". Like it's decent but I also loved it so much when I first watched it and I would absolutely love if it had another season
the covering one eye to give yourself a disadvantage reminds me zaraki kenpachi from bleach (currently im on ep 93) and also,, the risk thing IS kinda there in chainsaw man? because they have contracts and in part 1 at least it plays a huge role- who's contracted to whom and what the consequences are
Does Gogio hear me out- essentially have the power of psychics? The three laws, f=ma, attraction, repulsion, infinity in relation to thermodynamics and friction to have atoms always moving and the gravitational, negative, (blue) and magnetic repulsive (red) forces.
I was kinda picking up what Danny was putting down until I realized I finished caught up on 25 years of Naruto and One Piece in a couple of months... I think you'd catch up on 6 years real quick😂
I waited a week for the 2nd tier list ad I got pissy pants and talking about JJK. Great ep tho and IK they arent caught up with One Piece but they have to be aware of the things and I just want them to acknowledge it
I would have an anime, but they finally did Fruits Baskets justice so I'm good. Many of my favorites are out or have remakes/sequels. Danny, I was thinking of FMA/B but they had a good end to it so no thank you. I don't want it to be remade or live action anything.
"watch me and Danny matta talk anything but anime" xD it's my first time here and I expected anime podcast, 18mins in and still random talk XD Well i'm just joking nick keep it up bois you have the vibes !
Danny’s homework needs to be to watch some of hunter x hunter to get him hooked. Love the podcast guys, always keeps me entertained and love to hear you guys’ takes on everything❤️
The weird snippy woman= Kuchisake-onna aka the slit mouthed woman who asks is she beautiful idk why but that one has been engrained in my brain ever since i first heard about it😂
So actually hidden inventory is done in one episode and then we have a movie and hidden inventory recap, then we have a season 1 recap, and then they start shibuya
I had no idea that they were going past the hidden inventory arc in jjk. I was disappointed cause I thought we were gonna have to wait for another year to see the Shibuya incident.
