base player from NA here, ran with Unorthodox, Savior and Wovian clans - i miss the PUG days with Matrix, Joker, Fire, Mith, Ransom and pr0 - and when waiting for PUGs we would just sit in OFH for hours lol the nostalgia is wildddd :')
Master KlAzE here.. also joined Wovian at some point, I remember the PUG days with all those guys, Drazen, Attrition, Intrepid, etc. if any old people around hit me up, I havent played in like 20 years, but sure been thinking about it!!
Bros, i miss these times. I was on this dueling stage many times as well. Is the game still alive at least a bit? I wanna duel some more again. I just realised how i miss it
Yuck, I remember 20+ years ago when the exploit of spamming the mouse left-right was discovered. Completely ruined the elegant combat system. Instead of risk-reward movement where you would do damage at the risk of taking some although less, now people just shook their hands like sudden onset parkinsons giving an instant kill from full health. Unfortunately back then games didn't typically get ongoing patches. Turned into a contest of who could shake their hand fast enough on the slightest touch. We can all watch this video and see how disappointing it comes across, its like viewing a counterstrike spinbotter toggling on and off. What a shame this remained in the game. I say this as someone who for many, many years was in a dominant clan and won thousands of clan matches (ladder and tournament) but refused to degrade myself with that exploit. We were able to win because we practised regularly and honed our skills, while the exploit abusers became so reliant upon it that their core mechanics suffered. However there were a few clans that were both highly skilled and bug abusers, they made it extremely damaging to win but all the more rewarding when we did.
when your at any decent level you just bait your opponent with different air timings to be less precidcable. the best players adapt instantly to any playstyle so you need to mix up your stuff like that. noobs will never understand this. its not random moves. its more like controlled chaos with complex mechanics behind the curtain. its the most complex star wars dueling game on the market to this day
If you keep proper range a parry will never hit you, and then the parrier is open to get hit, it's not a good technique at top level besides extremely rarely, parry spam is easy to counter
@@angrywolfjr7164 yeah people play like they're going to lose their soul if they fail even in non competitive modes people have started to play like this It made keeping up in multiplayer a second full-time job so now I just play single player games I enjoy such as the Jedi Knight franchise
Try the JoF server, the clan has forms that are taught to members (they're just called forms for flavour, it's actually practical playstyles that are competitive like aggressive red style, defensive red style, aggressive medium and so on) which emphasise aggressive play and less of the boring, passive stuff you see on base.
@@heresjonny666 You have no idea about base if you think all they do is playing passively. Play a pug and you will see people playing very agressively. If someone plays like a chicken or a predator has nothing to do with the mod or game mode.
@@praedonius9693 I never poked.. to this day. I continue fighting the proper way.. and killing them pesky ones.. Although.. there are no pesky ones left.. i just fight on my server with my friends..
@@gruntalot1 lmao thats why jka has like 2 players dueling. Jka dueling is a jump nudge fest that has nowhere near the complexity of mb2 or OJP for sabering
Played MB2 for a bit, the saber combat is trash, for pussies who have 0 skill in the base game and can't evade one swing from the opponent, that's why it has a built in block.
JA+ reduces the power of things like wiggle quite significantly, try the JoF server. If you join the clan there are competitive playstyles taught that are aggressive and more varied than base, eschewing most of the stuff that causes passive play from the practicing/learning process. Much more fun.
@heresjonny666 me and a few friends used to play base but with some special rules. saber blocking was disabled, blasters were allowed, but saber kills earned double points. it required you to be able to swap between different weapons and force powers very fast so you could get an easier kill.
These guys are amazingly bad and clearly don't even understand that there's a parry mechanic in the game. I didn't notice a leap, a lunge, an overhead swipe, a back attack. They didn't utilize a single single ability to catch their opponent off guard, it's all jumping and camera manipulation (which should have never existed.)
@@FMMAGE What do you need wallruns for? They are mostly fluff. Left+Right-Click move is a kata. People barely use it because it locks you in a place for several seconds and you get punished easily. It's a very risky move.
most noobs cant even replicate any of those jump attacks. yea skill must be boring. jka is the most skilled and complex saber melee game ever made on the best engine for any multiplayer game. not even cs 1.6 could compete
The game is the greatest star wars jedi saber fighter/multiplayer/first person and third person shooter/ game ever to exist and still game play is leagues ahead of present games just there gameplay is trash
Came here because of nostalgy for the game I played like more then 5 years ago a whole lot. I'm not disappointed, you play good. A lot of playing safe and respect for the opponents moves here from both of you.
@@ulzzangloverxD not trying to sound disrespectful but game has higher bar of competition when more players are at it. This game isn't at it's highest.
@@dontblamepeopleblamethegov559 You do realize this replay is from a decade ago? These two are top players, no matter what era you look at. Few people played base, competitive jka. Most noobed around on modded fun servers.
Knew a guy, his nickname was Nameless. He was one of Stormriders clan members. These guys in the video are ok, but not even half skilled as he was, never met such skilled one. He was unbeatable literally, whatever you are trying to do, he would jump and land with saber right in your head and take all hp with one blow most of the time. never ever have seen him losing in a duel
@@bryanf6638 I wish lol. Ok believe me or not, simply noone could take him out in a duel. He was a baser and so skilled one.. I tried a few times he just takes out people in 2-3 hits hitting hard right in head during jumps. I just have no idea how it happened I played this game for a few years, had some teachers also, clans, fights, but never reached or figured out how he did that.
@@lacanister9001the player u are referring to is one of these pro players though haha Nameless was just his hidden alias but i'm pretty sure many ppl knew of him as one of the well known pros
BWN network here fro me.. KoP Nalukai - Shinobi chekcing in.. movie duels and movie battle duels aint no joke gettign clapped left and right even by NPCs
JA+ duels from people not trying to min/max passive play look a lot more interesting and fun, try checking out JoF server and duelling some of the master guardian+ rank members.
