Well it a system, its Bruce's system, but he didnt wanted it to have no bounds, but obey several key principals. One such example being, ending the fight in the shortest time possible. When two guys throw 30 punches at each other and neither is down, something is wrong.

@m249joe So what? If it works for them, that's fine. There are pros and cons to using belts. The best pro is that they kindof keep your kimono from falling.

let me pose a question: what exactly is JKD??? Is it not simply a collection of what works for you?? When you say "ther is no JKD" it seems to me that you are looking for a specific system rather than what JKD really is. Do you or have you ever studied JKD? If you did then you would know that different people with different attributes will fight differently and thus their JKD will be quite different. Peace.
