I guess for listening to anything other than wooden instruments, resonence of the wood would add some distortion. I also have some doubts about the universality of that "guitar wood", since piano sound boards for example are preferably made of spurce. In fact every instrument has his own "perfect wood".. A musician could have a better idea about the feasibility of such a "universal soundboard". So you better ask them..Mine is just a rough description of the problem from an engineering perspective. "Resonence in your living room" is just an ambitious challange that requires "speakers" (or whatever substitutes them) to be built to the precision and quality standards of the musical instruments. And then of course one should ask "which one" ..
