Jmook's recoveries are fucking absurd and probably won him the set here (at least in as many games). Going for and getting that edge cancel on FoD (even though it's pseudo luck) into a reversal is just wild (this isn't the first time, he pulled it off on Yoshi's twice in the same tournament last year). The ECB push off angles are crazy too, especially with his consistency of them.
Same though I do think he played better than in the friendlies. Not as many stupid reversals lol. Hopefully he can get his fox back up to par and get some slippi practice for the mu.
Maybe Jmook is just really good? No shame in a top 5 player losing to a top 5 player. Edit: all these replies when I was just trying to say that people blame the character matchup instead of just acknowledging that players are good and outplay each other. Mango doesn't have a sheik problem... Jmook is better at melee rn.
mang's Falco looks sort of more vivid than his Fox but i still think that he should invest more into the furry against Jake. Falco has way less stuff to kill with and Jmook punishes him way harder than Fox offstage.
People said the same thing when he went up against Hbox and his Fox did worse than his Falco. A matchup being better does not compensate for character comfort and enjoyment, and Mango clearly likes playing Falco much more.
@@shinji136 that's because mango barely practices his fox compared to his falco. in my opinion, mang0 historicaclly has been at his peak when both his spacies are polished rather than him focusing all on falco
@@AlphaHatsuseno either way it's at the opportunity cost of the other thing. One 10/10 spacie or two like 8.5/10 spacies. Can't have both, (unless he doubled his grinding hours, which seems unrealistic
@@nahometesfay1112 It definitely does. It means he determined it wasn't worth it, considering he won with Falco. Why would he waste mental effort on a character he doesn't like nearly as much, hasn't practiced nearly as much, and doesn't even perform better? Fox wouldn't fix anything regarding his losses or overall performance. It's just cope to think it would.
tbf mang0 hasn't really practiced for shiek besides at the bootcamp. he primarily played against falco (bbb, magi, kjh), fox (null, lucky), falcon (s2j, salt) and marth (kodorin, zain) for the past month or so. he also didn't show any interest in practicing for puff. saying he would only do it if he loses to hbox which he did. hopefully he comes more prepared next time.
