Jo Koy on Kanye Possibly Being Schizophrenic, Like His Own Brother 

Schizophrenia isn't multiple personalities. Multiple personality disorder is something else. Schizophrenia is more to do with talking to yourself, hearing voices, delusions, etc.

Schizophrenia is not multiple personality disorder. I have it, it's a disconnect from reality including delusions and hallucinations. But I do agree sometimes there is a link between mental illness and creativity.

I got a friend and he's diagnosed bipolar. His music is soooo good. This man is way too talented to not be recognized. However, he has an episode every couple months and ends up locked up. So it's a gift and a curse for his situation. I get what he means about certain people with mental issues make up for it in other areas.

Really ignorant to say Kanye was "blessed" with schizophrenia and bipolar. To all people suffering from it and who watched this, I'm sorry

Kanye West was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder as a teenager according to his mom Donda West in her book Raising Kanye. Kanye West himself has mentioned taking Lexapro (used for treating Bipolar/Depression) on different occasions in his music especially in The Life Of Pablo. He also mentions Depression/Suicide on the song Clique of the Cruel Summer Album. Also, you have got to put into context that Kanye West suffered significant brain swelling/injury in his 2002 car accident which almost took his life so that could have affected him down the line. I always assumed that Kanye West did have something tho which is why he is such a creative and intelligent person but is often misunderstood. If you look at very creative/artistic and smart people currently/historically almost all of them suffer(ed) from some form or combination of Bipolar, Depression, Anxiety, Social Awkwardness, Anger Management Issues, Delusions of Grandeur, Alcoholism, Psychosis, Addiction, or some other Mental Health struggle. Some of my favorite people of all time Edgar Allen Poe, Heath Ledger, Micheal Jackson, Prince, Nikola Tesla, John Lennon, Johnny Depp, Jimi Hendrix, Beyonce, Abraham Lincoln, Keith Richards, Janis Joplin, James Brown, etc. all suffer(ed) from at least one if not more of those listed ailments. I would consider Kanye West to be a musical genius tho but not necessarily for his writing of raps but for his out of this world musical abilities and his sense of arrangement of musical elements as well as his ability to create, see, and set trends in music.

first off, multiple personailty and schizophrenia or two different things, schizophrenia deals with visual and audio hallucinations, along with delusions and severe depression and anxiety, and second off, if a "genius" were to have these issues, it would not give him a benefit in his craft at all, but almost make it worse and give him the inability to create, and 3rd how in the fuck would anyone know if kanye if having severe symptoms of schizophrenia, we aren't in his head nor are we his therapist, we need to all quit trying to identify each other through disorders and just let people be themselves even if they are a little crazy..

Schizophrenia is a split from reality. Dissociative Identity Personality is multiple personalities created to compartmentalize trauma
