Omg! I was going back and watching some of your old videos and the story of the nightmare midarm is so my story! I have a Bernina 820 that’s designed the same way. It sews great off the frame, even doing FMQ. But, put it on the frame, and I can’t get the tension to balance right for anything!!😖. Lately, I’ve been putting the quilt in the frame, hand basting it, and then taking it off and doing FMQ. It’s a pain! But, I don’t have the money or space for a longarm. Just keep plugging along….But, I love your videos!

Hey jo, we were at Lou's retreat center with you and Bonnie Hunter . What I left there with is all I have done. Seeing this video, I am thinking of finding it and starting it up again, thanks. Next morning: jo, I had to re watch this, love it. I hope you keep this up, love to sew with people on video like this. Love to watch bonnie hunter's quiltcam...keep it up, can't wait to see the quilt top when you are done.

Jo, I love watching you sew, I also love making scrap quilts plus at the moment I’m making placemats for meals on wheels . I turned in to our senior center in Simi Valley Ca. 16 for October and I have finished 15 for November so far. I think it’s great that you give back to so many charity’s you inspire us all.

I’ve had a spiderweb quilt on my wish list for years. I should get to making one soon. I had fun sewing along with you. I was working on a stack of fabric postcards that only needed the outer edge stitching. A very boring job so it’s nice to have company.

Hi. I just found your channel. I had fun watching you sew and listening to you, so I subscribed 😁 I love scrappy quilts. I'm rather new to quilting and have yet to attend a retreat. They sound like fun. Where do you live? I'm in central NY state and dreaming of Spring!

Fun Jo. I wonder how hard a live virtual sew together would be? Then you wouldn't be talking to yourself and more fun for you. Like a FB live or a zoom sew together. I have never been on a retreat, but have been to sew days. Love the spiderweb blocks. I have made a quilt.

I am working on a civil war reproduction fabric mini spider web that I drafted years ago to use scraps under 1.5 inches wide. Also doing the same size mini spider web in bright fabrics. I save strings between under 1.5 and 1 inch from the trash with this pattern.

Loved your tour. It satisfied my questions to finish my la rm. I have a BLK and red carpet with wall colour like yours. I have a coral red dresser as an ironing place. I love the gray pieces--- what paint did you use? Also interested in the lighting. How does it work over your longarm?

Bernice, here is a blog post about the light over my longarm. I think it explains it better than I could now. I love the light. www.joscountryjunction.com/a-little-fix-up-for-my-apqs-milly-lights/ Here is a link to my blog with info all about the paint I used. www.joscountryjunction.com/sewing-room-tour-2/

Do you take the papers off. before you sew the blocks into a top or after? I’m working on a string quilt right now and wondering what I should do about the papers.
@JosCountryJunction
@JosCountryJunction Год назад
I take them off once the piece with the papers is added to anything else.

Hi Jo! Fun video! I too was at your and Bonnie's workshops in Olewein! I finished my Spider Web for our grandson. Made it an eye-spy quilt in the process! I used various oranges for the "kites" so if you use several reds I think it would work! Good luck!
