Jo's Monologue from LITTLE WOMEN (“I Want To Be Loved") 

Hello again, beautiful people! ❤️ I am SO incredibly thrilled to be continuing a LONG AWAITED series on my channel: LITTLE WOMEN!!! 📝🕊️👯‍♀️ My Amy monologue that I did over a year ago is my second most viewed video on the channel and I always knew I wanted to circle back to this incredible film at some point. This movie truly has it all for me and it's an absolute goldmine for scenes so definitely expect quite a few videos to come out of this series! I mean, a period drama about 4 young ambitious women??? My name is written ALL OVER IT! 💖
In this scene, Jo reveals to Marmie that she is having second thoughts about turning down Laurie. It seems that her loneliness has finally caught up with her and is giving her ambition a run for its money. What ensues is a stream of consciousness about love, gender roles, and the inescapable human desire for companionship.
This monologue is a great character moment for Jo as we finally get to see a glimpse of humanity within Jo's tough exterior. Even the most fiercely independent get lonely sometimes. I think her thought process here is important to pay attention to because it isn't Laurie that she wants - it's someone to love her. It’s not Laurie she desires but a companion. The mind tricks us into thinking we love people sometimes in order to meet its hierarchy of needs - especially for love, comfort, and fellowship.
Jo March is probably the one character I relate to the most out of anything created ever. Her ambition, strong will, and independence are traits that I relate to so deeply. I've never seen a female creative devoid of the desire to marry and have children until Jo March. She has validated so many of my feelings and I truly feel seen when I look at her. Jo is everything I am and everything I ever want to be. 🤍🤍
Little Women is such a classic, important story and I'm so glad I'm getting to explore it once again on the channel. I have 5+ videos planned for this series so buckle up! It's gonna be a fun one! ✨
AND GUESS WHAT?!?!? I just visited the real-life Little Women house in Concord, MA!!!!! IT WAS SO AMAZING!!!! Talk about perfect timing!! 🤪
