As a daughter of a flower child who went to Woodstock, who grew up to marry her soulmate who is Persian, and went to his country with him after 25 years being away since the revolution, let me say only, this song means so much to me. And that we are walking hand in hand, today.
She's still walking her talk and singing her truth after 50 years. What a great role model and inspiration. How much music today has it's heart in such a compassionate place? Long live Joan, and blessings on you. I love you.
how I wish I was alive back in the times when music had a message, and musicians used their influence to fight, just like Joan Baez, John Lennon and Bob Dylan!
History has been repeated! People are dying for the future. This is a beginning of an end. All I can say is " well done madam ". I am one of your fans. You made yourself a hero for the Iranian and more. I hope this brings many more people to their senses. Keep up with your good work. My best wishes to you and people alike.

Joan, you have always been inspiring and powerful. Now, you've touched my younger generation, fellow Iranians, and parents again with your beautiful song. I have no doubt it will be as iconic as your cover of Blowing in the Wind. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Dear Joan, l learned English with your songs. Love your voice. Please Please Please keep singing this song. Free Iran means Free Middle East , Thank you soooooo Much.
In all my travels two countries have stood out in terms of the friendliness of their peoples - Malawi and Iran. Malawi is so very poor but they are simply lovely. In Iran you just get cheerful waves, hugs and food. I love them and I do so hope that things will get better.
To the people of Iran......know that your struggles are not forgotten or ignored by most in the U.S.A. We admire your courage, we hear your cry for justice and truth, we stand by you as you march, sing and chant for the freedoms and representation you so richly deserve! And blessings to you, Joan, for your enduring efforts to soothe the weary and suffering around the world.
You ROCK Joan. This horrid, bleeding world needs more people to band and stand together, or NOTHING grand will ever happen. As of course, you know already. Preach it girl! You're an inspiration to me!
Am I the only one who wants her to do an Arabic version of this song for the people of Egypt?? Thanks for sharing your heart, music, and ideas with the world. You are very inspiring for a young person such as myself.

It's amazing the power that she unlocks by connecting the plight of Iranians to the struggles for freedom we've witnessed over the last 50 years. Thanks.
I pray to whatever may be listening out there that people in Iran manage to see this video and draw solace from it. Thank you Joan Baez, good on you for making this video, and God bless Iran and America.
What a beautiful smile at the end.... Thank you so much Joan. I remember growing up in war in Iran listening sometimes to my mom's old vinyls including yours from her days in England as a student. I am almost sure she has seen you in concert in those days. Always been a fan and we became fans too. Thank you for supporting us. In the hope that one day you can perform for us in the FREE IRAN :)
This song is timeless, to think Joan sang this song about 50 years ago and it still applies to today's troubled world. Bless you Joan, I love you. Saskia

Dear Joan, THANK YOU VERY MUCH for singing in Farsi for the people, who are losing their lives for freedom. They need all the support they can get to go through these tough times.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! The song that spoke out for civil rights in the 60s is quite appropriately remade for those crying out for freedom today in Iran (as well as those around the world!)! PLEASE ALSO MAKE AN ARABIC version! God bless Ms. Baez! God bless all who seek human rights and human dignity!
Iranians need this more than ever now and we appreciate it and thank you for caring. It is so beautiful and touching and brings tears to the eyes. Very lovely indeed....

When I think of the changes Mrs. Kirchner is carrying out in Argentina, my country, this song immediately pops in my head. Thank you, Mrs. Baez. I admire your constant pledge for peace and social justice thorugh art, which is, in my view, the best way to protest. .
Thanks to Joan for always being a strong supporter of freedom for everyone with her lovely voice. I believe at the end of this century, we the open-minded shall overcome prejudice, fundamentalism & injustice.
Dear Joan, Thank you for being supportive to Iranian people. your voice reminds me of my childhood memories; when my dad used to listen to "Let It Be". He didn't get the chance to see the freedom in Iran, but I hope that I do. We WILL overcome, sooner or later, and we will invite you and other noble people who have supported us to reach the freedom to join us in our celebration. Thanks again and all the best.
