I feel the tragic character in all this is Christopher, his behavior seems in most part to not being of his choosing but rather the symptoms of a condition, his sister appears to have used that to further her case against their mother.
Yes, Christopher needed medical assistance that was not available for him at the time. Christina clearly took advantage of his story and used it for her own monetary gain.
I agree. He had a lot of issues, and with the times the way they were, there wasn’t advancements in mental health like there is today. Christina took full advantage of Christopher during contesting the will, including paying him a paltry sum of $1500 to use his name in the book. The more that is coming out about Christina, the more it’s showing that she lied or exaggerated a lot of what happened.
He didn’t. He came out in an interview and talked about how he deliberately gave her a hard time in the interview because he didn’t believe. That’s why he whipped out the letter from Cathy discrediting Christina, and why he let Patrick Macnee (who was also on stage) tell stories about Joan that put her in a good light. Unfortunately Gavin and Patti MacLeod (who were also on stage) seemed to believe Christina.
Christina is one sly wolf... She doesn't actually say she will share the $750K with her brother, Just, "we are close & he will be taken care of". She manages to give an ambiguous answer , yet not lose the sympathy from her audience at the time. She is very adept at this sly manoeuvre in her interviews & writing for 40+ years. Hence her success, I suppose in fooling the general public for so long.
I feel for Christopher, but Joan did everything she could to help him. At some point you just have to stop rewarding bad behavior. Christina, on the other hand, ought to be ashamed of herself. Thank you for bringing this to light.
I wish we can get one of the popular body language expert channels here on YT to examine Christina's body language in various interviews. I bet it would be extremely telling. And how generous of you, Tina, to give your brother $1,500. I'm sure the rest was donated to a charitable organization on child abuse, right?
This should be eye opening. And just look at Christina’s body language. I wonder what BL experts would make of that! Probably have a field day. #JusticeForJoanCrawford #ChristinaCrawfordLied
I always tend to believe about half - to a certain degree, I'm sure that Joan was quite a strict parent. I also think that Christina's book, and certainly the over-the-top Movie version of it -- are distorted exaggerations of the truth. I think that Christopher was a problem child without a doubt and that it was painful for Joan to answer questions about him. I think that she probably did her best as did Alfred Steele in assisting her with handling him, but I do think he was too much of a handful.
@@ChristinaCrawfordLied FWIW, I have a son who showed a lot of those same issues as a child--always in trouble, couldn't keep him in school, juvie, drug use, etc. He was diagnosed with PTSD (from living with his dad for 1.5 yrs), Oppositional Defiant Disorder, depression and bi-polar disorder. He was on a host of meds since he was 11, including lithium and depakote. I love my son to bits and pieces and we are thick as thieves, but when not treated (which is always, since he refuses), there is NOTHING normal about my son.
Can someone please remake a movie for Joan and give her back her crown and expose her daughter. Not in the same vicious way but the truth. I remember seeing Christina on a talk show when I was preteen...maybe Oprah. my mother said how horrible it was to be beaten with wire hangars. My mother believed in Christina. I saw something else watching her talk and said something light about it and my mother looked at me shocked but it was because I didn't believe her even then.
"Sharper than a serpent's tooth is to have a thankless child." Joan Crawford didn't deserve this vitriol and slander from her daughter. There are real victims of abuse out there who need to be believed.
Liars make it difficult for real survivors to be believed. My own father was worse than Joan Crawford ever was, and so were other adults in my life who are not even related to me, but whom my parents told were there for my protection.
Wow. Thanks for this - I, like so many others, have been so fascinated with this story. It’s for sure one sided, but veeeeerrrrrryyy interesting to get these facts about what the whole picture might really have been.
