Incredible, awesome! I'm a 63 y/o blues fan, into blues since my teens, growing up on Buddy Guy, Albert, BB and Freddy King, Clapton, Hendrix, Jimmy Page, Otis Rush, Johnny Winter, Albert Collins, and later, Stevie Ray Vaughn. To me, Joanne matches all these legends, right now! Go girl go! Buddy Guy said that every generation blues needs a remarkable player to keep the passion burning........Hendrix, SRV, and way back, Robert Johnson. Miss Joanne may well be the next blues catalyst. Amazing!
Love Joanne with the Les Paul and now with the Strat she continues to kill it. Could be the best I've seen her play. So awesome. You thumbs down people are so out of touch.
I totally agree would like to see her live hope she comes to Denver oi live I WYOMING but I been going to Denver to see alot of concerts see B B king, Buddy guy Joe bonamasa and all all kinds of kick ass concert
If in heaven do not play blues, I do not need such a paradise! Thank you, Joanne, you are real star! The art of the great Stevie Ray & Janis continues to live
Right on, Brother! This girl MUST be kept with us, for many, many years! She's amazing! God bless her. What an incredible guitarist...pure hot passion and amazing talent, skill, technique too.
Soooo many great blues players around, these girls are amazing along with the Queen Bonnie Raitt, Susan Tedeschi, Carolyn Wonderland, Anna Popovic, Orianthi, the blues are alive, well and in good hands and rock and roll will never die!!!
Finally something Real. Not the same old sterile cliched' blues licks that some of these too highly rated blues players continually going thru the motions to keep it alive, so they think. It's a raw truthful emotion that only a few get. Jimmy, Stevie etc.. Girlfriend, God bless you. She sounds like she was baptized by the blues and the water is fine...
Whenever I watch Joanne play I almost think it would be a disservice not to comment on such a great blues performance. Joanne is such an amazing blues guitarist, the blues literally flow out of her. I have never seen the blues interpreted quite like Joanne does. She has created her own amazing style and it works in an almost magical way. It is all hers...she owns it. We certainly will hear much more about Joanne Shaw Taylor in the years to come. Joanne Shaw Taylor has to be the best female blues guitarist in the world today.
Her vibrato is second to none, has such a sweetness to it and then she can stab you and drill right into your soul. Little hints of Jimmy Page in Her Style, possibly just influence she has her own style which is amazing the best I have ever heard. Not to mention her amazing Soulful voice in my opinion she belongs to the field of the greatest players ever. I feel She will carry the torch for the Blues. I don't know very much about her except for the videos I've seen but I am completely blown away as a musician guitarist myself this Woman is truly blessed and I can't wait to hear more. Keep giving it to us Joanne we love you.
I know she lists SRV, Albert Collins and Jimi as influences, but there's a lot of early Fleetwood Mac in her playing - Peter Green, Danny Kirwan and Jeremy Spencer. She also might be the best female blues singer since JoAnn Kelly and Christie McVie. Love the riff at 6:50. She's touring North America in February, but not coming down South where her musical roots are.
Man, she just gets better and better each time I hear her! The mood here brings me to a Janis Joplin feeling albeit different vocals, savvy loving riffing and in command of every model guitar she's ever played! Somehow though her backup band seems to lack the Motts, but oneday she'll have that too, ''Go On Girlfriend'' you're the ''Real Thing'', and you don't need us to tell you just go on with your ''Bad Self''!
She's playing a Fender Stratocaster... WOW! I wonder what year she decided to start playing a Gibson Les Paul? I can tell this was recorded 10 years ago or so ... she looks just a little younger in this video and from watching it she is having a good time and enjoying playing that Stratocaster. She is a remarkable guitarist ... so remarkable that she's right up there with players such as Joe Bonamssa, Kenny Wayne Sheppard, Samantha Fish ... and you can hear Stevie Ray Vaughn in her guitar skills! FAN-TASTIC Guitarist! I love watching her play because she puts 100% of her feelings and emotions into her playing! 👍👍🤠
I stumbled from JB interview....Wow, so excited about her, she is truly awesome and has probably got better as this is a few years old. I will definitely check her out,
I got here through a Joe Bonamassa interview with her. I hadn't heard of her, but am wondering how I didn't come across her before, she is awesome, I am a fan already. Excellent, great voice and the guitar work fantastic.👌👍
She will be once she gets her vocals down. She is young. She had improved since then. I always said once she got a vocal coach she would be unstoppable. Great voice bit you can't understand a word she says. Glad to hear she got to work on that. I've always felt that the voice is an instrument, if you can't hear the notes, you need to work on your technique . Today,,2022 she is killing it.
Jaw dropping. This young guitarist's playing combines grit, passion, agression, feel and speed as well as any Electric Blues guitarist out there. Her playing reminds me a lot of Page. I'm very much looking forward to watching her career.
Just saw her at Blues under the Bridge in Colorado Springs. She is amazing!! A truly inspiring performance. Just like she does in this clip, she gives it her all every time she is on stage. Love her!
Okay I'm going to admit you're playing and singing has brought tears of joy to my eyes literally intense beyond words. You have moved me got right to my soul And lifted me to places I've never been you are AMAZING!!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
