He's not really humble, he never watches the movies he plays in because he thinks that he acts like shit and that's why he wasn't expecting to win the prize. You could see that as humility but I think it's more of a bad judgement and a self-hate :/ Great actor and person tho.
Fun fact: Joaquin Phoenix is only one win away from achieving the rare "film festival trifecta" (where a person wins major acting prizes from the 3 major film festivals (Cannes, Venice, and Berlin)). Only 4 people have achieved this particular feat so far (Juliette Binoche, Jack Lemmon, Julianne Moore, and Sean Penn), and all of them won Oscars as well. Joaquin already won Venice Film Festival Best Actor for THE MASTER (sharing the award with Philip Seymour Hoffman) and now Cannes for YOU WERE NEVER REALLY HERE. He only needs Berlin to finish that trifecta.

@@lilmakii6357 pour annoncer les nominés par exemple ou pour des remerciements etc. En plus ton nom prononcé dans une autre langue tu peux ne pas le reconnaître, les intonations ne sont pas les mêmes etc

He always been my favorite actor along side his late brother River, I'm so glad they're finally appreciating him for his great acting. He deserves an Oscar!!!!!!!!!
Il est adorable...la simplicité incarnée. Impatiente de voir ce film cette semaine, que j'ai attendue depuis des mois ! Rien qu'avec la bande annonce on a comprit qu'il méritait ce prix.

OSCARS is all about money, ask anyone in hollywood.. you cant win an oscars if you dont campaign for it... CAMPAIGN- ads, bribes, etc

It is a shame that actor like him is recognized at these prestigious awards yet people around the globe barely know this talented actor. I hope Joker does that for him.
