I don’t understand why people come here to find jobs, I will suggest go to school and get a university degree first and then build contacts through school and then you will get decent salary jobs. Dont waste your time coming to Canada to find part time jobs as they are very few and there is lot of competition for them. If you are skilled in carpentry/electrician/plumbing/painting then you have lots of opportunities. But if you have no experience and no skill or no certification then Canada is last place to come…

I like your persistence. I would like to put in my two cents worth of advise, having gone through this. Please avoid 24 hour locations and night shifts as they are magnets for criminal activities, including robbery at gun point; it’s north worth loosing your life working night shift; I have gone through it.

@@itzmystudio looong story but I will try to put it in a nut shell. Worked in a 7-Eleven (24 hour) night shift while doing my MBA. No issues. Gained experience. Decided to work in two more to gain more experience. No major crime issues although some day shift and sone night shift were difficult to adjust to but the owner wanted to manipulate. Borrowed money and bought a 7-Eleven. Good volume store but a lot of theft and robbery issues. Franchise was more interested in bottom line rather than safety. You see we work night shift because we need money and employers here take advantage and employ us for night shifts only. We have good work ethics so we put in an honest day of work. We are sitting duck as we are the only store open, there is no such thing as store in good neighborhood. This people want money for drugs,etc., steal a car hit the highway take an exit and hit a 24 hour store/gas station and it is a new immigrant usually behind the counter! I am sure you read about them all the time in cities like NY, CA, or Chicago. We have wife and children or parents back in India; they depend upon you. If the person is gone or becomes incapacitated, it’s worse as he is a burden for the rest of his life on others. So I sold the store. Got into another business that was not 24 hours. Worked hard for 35 years and now retired. You seem to be a good hardworking fellow; while you might be tempted to pick the first job offering night shifts, I caution you against it. Bhai, main Cornwall main based hoon. Zindagi ki har mushkil dekha hay. Mere batch kay classmates Jo logistics kah diploma kiya, ussay kuch faida nahi. India main 4-5 saal kaam karke yahaan kuch life milestone achievement hogi, sab bakwas hay. College say ab tak, maina personally 3 jobs kiya hay every week. Sab blue collar, kuch nahi work Kar raha! Kya Socha aur kya milla. Ab sirf 1.5 years work visa Baki hay. Yahaan log hamay sirf blue collar work available hay! Frustrating: sab kuch fareb hay yahaan.
