Hi Sumbul, thank you for the great insight! it really gives a reality check. Can you please recommend any part-time/unpaid internships or anything in the field of researchwork that we can do while we are studying which might boost our CV when we apply for Research Assistant jobs in the future?

Hello. Thank you for your comment. The most common way is to get in touch with the professors who are working on research topics that interest you. Some won't write back and some will. The ones who do may politely say no that they don't have anything at the moment. Unfortunately, there is no easy way but to keep trying. I understand sometimes it can be difficult to streamline one's interest in research and that's absolutely fine. Try out different things and you might be able to figure out what eventually interests you. Hope this helps!

Hi I have done bachelors of science in psychology and I got an offer from university of Sunderland for this September but it’s a conversion course do you think I can get a sponsored job after it
@sumbulsyed95
@sumbulsyed95 2 дня назад
Thank you for reaching out. Unfortunately, it is difficult to say at this point whether one will get a sponsored job after a conversion programme. Some people do and some don't. Please watch this video where I have discussed certain challenges in finding jobs after a conversion programme: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fThCx_s0vP4.html Hope this helps!

Regarding your second question, I highly recommend that you watch this video where I explained everything in great detail: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qPBMKfExKNY.html Hope this helps!

which is more demanding research in clinical psychology or clinical psychology in uk
@sumbulsyed95

I think both can be equally challenging. Research has its own challenges and clinical practice has its own.

Hi, I had my undergrad in btech, and I am currently pursuing my ba in psychology in distance learning. So is it mandatory that I complete my ba in psychology or can I apply for the masters in clinical psychology in uk with the btech undergrad degree. I wish to focus on my career on practising as a clinical psychologist. So can you help me out on the path that I should follow. Should I start with a bridge course or can I apply for the masters and then PhD. Also please mention the details about the path.

@sumbulsyed95 2 месяца назад
Hello. Thank you for your comment. Since you have completed a BTech degree, a conversion course or any other accredited course is required to get on the path of working as a clinical psychologist in the UK. Please see this video for more details: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qPBMKfExKNY.html Hope this helps and do reach out in case you have any more questions.

Hi! I have a Bachelor's in English and I wish to take a conversion course (MSc) in Psychology. But my real aim is to do a PhD in Neuroscience. Will my conversion degree be sufficient for me to be selected as a PhD candidate in a university in the UK? Or do I need a proper MSc in Neuroscience (or a related field) on top of my conversion degree to be eligible for PhD?

@@sumbulsyed95 hello, yes I did my undergraduate in psychology honours for 3 years. The uni that I have chosen is University of South Wales and the course is MSc clinical psychology. It is not bps accredited and is for one year

@@anna-_-7936 Your course definitely sounds interesting! Congratulations on the offer by the way. However, since the course is not BPS accredited, I would highly recommend that you either get in touch with the department or BPS in order to ensure whether you would still be eligible to work as a clinical psychologist in the UK. Please ignore what I say if you're not interested in clinical practice in the UK. Hope this helps!

Hi, I have completed my undergraduate degree in Psychology from India and I am planning to pursue MSc in Health Psychology from the University of Stirling, which is BPS accredited. I am wondering if it is possible to find a job in the same field after completing my Masters.

Hello. Thank you for your message. Congratulations on your offer! Health Psychology is definitely an interesting sub-field in psychology. While I cannot point out any specific jobs (as I don't have a health psychology background), a lot of people either work as licensed Health Psychologists or find jobs in public health/healthcare/social care. Hope this helps!

hello,after a conversion degree ,we can pursue masters anywhere right?
@sumbulsyed95
@sumbulsyed95 2 месяца назад
Usually, conversion programmes are master's level programmes but yes, if you are interested in a second master's you can pursue it though you may have to justify/clarify in your statement of purpose why you are doing another master's degree. Hope this helps!

I am not sure how useful a conversion degree from the UK will be in India especially if you are interested in clinical practice and not research. Maybe you can get in touch with the RCI (Rehabilitation Council of India)? My experience was good overall however, there can be certain challenges in job search. I have made a video on this and I highly recommend that you watch it: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fThCx_s0vP4.html Hope this helps!
