Jobeky Low Volume Real Feel Cymbals Review

Every since these cymbals came out, I've gotten quite a few requests to review the Jobeky Low Volume Real Feel cymbals. Everyone loves the idea of a Zildjian L80, but many electronic drummers want to have that type of cymbal, but with a trigger system built in. That's what jobeky has here.
Pros:
Inexpensive compared to rubber cymbals
Looks Cool
Cons:
Louder than rubber cymbals
My Roland cymbals do cymbal swells better and are more accurate

I have a full set of the Jobecky Dark Bronze. Also it advertises as "no plastic boxes" but all came with a plastic box. I wrote to Jobecky about it and all they had to say was "Don't worry, the plastic boxes won't break.". I'm pretty pleased with the performance. I got 6 cymbals including a Splash, a TWO piece Hi-Hat and a 20" Ride. The looks are great!

A great way to stop the cymbal rotation is an Aquarian Cymbal Spring I used these with a Visu-lite (not sure of the spelling) electronic China cymbal back in the day to stop the rotation and it worked great.

@VdrummerStixx777
@VdrummerStixx777 5 лет назад
@@gregwilliams2764 I never used anything but the Vistulite china, had to modify the cymbal for less noise (added a heavy mouse to lower the strike volume). It was a china so I wasn't doing swells or any fine cymbal work on it I was only bashing it. It did trigger well and served it purpose. I haven't had that cymbal in probably 6 years. I am not a very good person to ask for that reason. Visulite I think was still there own company when I bought it.

Hey Justin, I have a 14,16 inch crash , a10 inch splash and the 18 inch China. So far I really dig them. If you spend the time to dial in the settings, you can get the triggering pretty much equal to a Roland cymbal imo. I do agree that the biggest downside is the lack of a rotation stopper, which I’ll most likely diy a fix for. Cheers

Jobeky seem a very cool little company - they are giving drummers what they ask for without much BS. Their full kits are surprisingly affordable compared to to some of the other 'real look and feel' brands. I'm just an amateur who uses a cheap e-kit for recording but I must admit I'm kind of surprised that some of this gear is within my reach.

Okay, so I'm running Arborea LV Cymbals with my Cymbal Triggers ON THE CYMBAL STAND before the Articulating Arm and mounted directly on there with the two screw holes using clip ties to secure it. I am NOT getting ANY double triggering, or false triggers, or ghost notes other than what I'm playing through my Module. The vibration from my cymbal strikes are more than enough to transfer even the dynamics to the Module easily. This is better than the Zildjian Gen16 for my setup because not only can I play my LV Cymbals with ease but I can also trigger my MIDI notes if recording OR I can MUTE my cymbals with Cymbal Mutes, use the Headphones for more quiet triggered practice, etc... It's very versatile and you do NOT need to mount your Cymbal Triggers on the Cymbal to make them work GREAT like mine! Also I DO mount my Hi Hat Bottom Cymbal ONLY with a Trigger and I DO take it off from time to time for the most natural play with my Electronic Drums and Module BUT I also use the Alesis Pro X Hi Hat Controller WITH my LV Cymbals by putting the Hi Hat Controller on the Bottom Mount directly on the Cup and then the Spring. On top of the Spring I put my Mounting Plate and Felt and Bottom Cymbal, and use the Clutch as ususal. This works GREAT and has EXCELLENT TRIGGERING and sounds! Very ultra sensitive and fun to play with the Spring Assisted REAL CYMBALS! No mutes here, just bottom trigger and custom controller!

To me , it really seemed quieter than the rubber and I really like the look of them and as you demonstrated , they make a nice crash . But first , I would have to keep that from spinning right from the start . Besides it driving me crazy it would damage the cable. The ride and hi hats may hold promise and the price seems right. Until I know more I will just stick with my VH10, CY12s and CR13. Great info as always ! Merry Christmas and a healthy and Happy New Year to you !! Keep up the good work !

Justin. I like this line the best....for me. The ATV are undoubtedly the best because of the 360* playing and they look good. But the are astonishing expensive. $500 for hats. I could buy some Meinl 15” for that. All electronic cymbals are loud. If you have a bass player next to you on stage he will be aggravated by the sound. The Jobecky real feel are quiet and very inexpensive and they look good. If and when I buy them I will buy the Aquarian spring . Same goes for the ATV Pro. Very expensive. Crappy module. I like the 3 position cones. Great idea. But Jobecky has a great 6 piece set for about $1200! Shells only. I love the poplar ocean fade color. Awesome really. You get the 3 ply heads . I assume the Drum-tec real feel will fit on the Jobecky drums. People who own them give high praise. Add a TD-17 with SD3 and....wow! What a great ekit.

Hey Justin, I bought a set of jobeky cymbals and at first the contact was way too loud cause I play it through my PA system with my band. I almost got rid of it until I added cymbal mutes to dampen the contact. Huge difference. It was floppy at first so I zip tied it through the holes. Also use a Aquarian cymbal spring to prevent spinning.

Hello Justin, I’m contemplating getting the China 18 inch in silver to play with my td50, I think for the price is a good buy, I was going to buy the atv China but it is almost ridiculous to pay $450 for a cymbal, I got the 10 inch splash from Atv and I think is just ok, do not like the fact that they spin too much as well. For electronic drums having the feature is not very useful. Anyway great review as usual thanks

My worry with the nitro end of the scale, which is what I have, is that there is not enough trigger setup options in the module, there is just threshold, sensitivity and crosstalk, I don't ever recall seeing a re-trigger cancel option in the module. I would not like that rotation either. I've changed my setup also. I'm continuing to use my acoustic set but with Roland triggers. I've ordered the td_17 because of the price and new features. I'm going to use my acoustic cymbals too. But I'd like a cheap electronic cymbal too. I see Pintech 10" on Amazon for like $ 20. I only want crashes. I'm using EZ2 and presonus iTwo. The little cymbals could sound like huge China's or a splash. I would use the sounds from ez 2 . Does that idea sound correct? Thanks, Greg

The Magnatrack 16” crash’s rubber rim can be taken off without false triggering. The choke device on it works really well and the triggers take up so little weight and space. That said, Magnatrack is not ready for prime time and the customer support and service is lacking greatly with orders that take as much as 2 months to arrive. It seems more like a side hobby than a business which is a shame because their triggers are better designed than anything on the market.

Greetings friend, my name's Chris Defiance, and I wanted to ask you if you know any talented guitarists and/or drummers that might be interested in being an alternate, fill in, or permenent member for my old metal band. We're currently looking to play some shows in and around texas, and also looking for a few other bands to tour with later this next year. Our music is on RU-vid and my band is called Foretold Defiance, sorry to spam, lmfao... also if you know any bands looking for a frontman please send them my way, looking to do some new projects also, thanks for your time - 👍🤘✌👻🌶

0:25 is the exact reason why I still refuse to waste my money on a Roland module. They just sound terrible.

I'm hitting them hard, because I'm trying to do a volume comparison.

If your Rolands do swells better, mine will do swells better. This is a deal breaker.
