Them two brothers are truly unbelievable. I went to that championship game and even with that taped up he played a hell of a game. The interview was great as well.
@theholymackerel4639 That some woman shit. Gtfo if someone on the team didn't play he wouldn't be that excited because he didn't do shit. Imagine celebrating when you never played in the game but when to practices. You didn't play but you are happy? You "won" but didn't play? Why would you be happy? You must've done nothing in your life to be happy that someone else won, it's cool the players win but you being happy that someone won and you weren't part of it? Idk you have to be an old mom or something
Hey everyone!! I just wanted to share some good news with you all. Let's just put it this way, the Ten Commandments are called the Moral Law. Ask yourself this. How many lies have you told? Have you ever stolen anything? Have you ever used God's name in vein? Have you ever hated someone or ever looked with lust? This is for you to judge yourself, but chances are that you are a lying, thieving, blasphemous, fornicating, adulterer at heart and you HAVE to face God on judgement day. Now ask yourself this. If God judges you on judgement day by these Commandments, will you be innocent or guilty? Of course you'll be guilty because we've all done these things. The truth is that none of us are good people and we NESD God's grace to make it to heaven. We judt simply cannot do it on our own. These Commandments arecalled the Moral Law. You and I broke the law, Jesus payed the fine. So now what we must do to be saved is to repent of our sins and trust alone in Jesus Christ! To repent doesn't mean to just say I'm sorry, but to turn from our sins and let Him truly be our Lord continually. He said that many will say to Him, Lord, Lord I have done all of these things for you. And He will say I never knew you. Depart from Me, ye who work iniquity! And those will be cast into outer darkness and raging hellfire and loneliness for all of eternity!!! Because we broke His law, He is very, very just to send us to hell. If someone had murdered 4 people and said to the judge, I've done nice things too and have tried to treat people nice but it was just one time, the judge would then say, okay but you're going to jail. And the judge is very just to do that. One last thing, if you were 10,000 feet in the air and you had to jump, you wouldn't jump out and flap your arms and try to save yourself. That's ridiculous! You would put on the parachute. It is the same with Jesus. You must trust Him as you trust the parachute. We are not good and we cannot save ourselves with our own goodness. We must trust alone in Him to save us. In just a moment of time you can pass from death to life. Jesus said, "Verily, verily I say unto you, you must be born again." That is how we enter heaven. Through the blood and grace of Jesus Christ!✝️If you ask someone how to enter Heaven, they will most likely say, "Be a good person." Well the Bible says that none is good, no not one. We like to compare ourselves to guys like Hitler and say, "Hey, I'm a pretty good guy compared to him." But when we compare ourselves to God's standard, we realize that the Bible speaks truth when it says that we all sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God!!! When we see this ( our sin in its TRUE light), we see how much trouble we are in and we say, "Well then there's nothing I can do. I'm going to hell for sure then." It's true that there is nothing that WE can do, but there is something that has already been done for you! God sent His One and Only Son to die on a cross as a sacrifice for our sins! So to recieve that eternal sweet sweet forgiveness, all we must do is repent of our sins (meaning to continually turn from them and confess them) and trust alone in Christ as you trust a parachute. If I was to push you out of an airplane, you'd want the parachute for sure! Don't try to flap your arms and save yourself, trust in the parachute! His finished work on the Cross IS ENOUGH!! He is the only way to Heaven, He said it Himself!! These other religions teach that we must he good and do good things and then maybe if we've been good enough, we will enter Heaven. But if that is true then we are all doomed to eternal hell because none of us are good. That's why this makes sense. Look at the Ten Commandments, they are written on your heart right now!! I promise that you have violated them. And you might still be doing that today. Therefore God is just to poor out His wrath on us because we deserve it!! But Christ died for us so that we can spend eternity in Heaven with Him! Turn to Him today, and He and only He will save your soul "Verily, verily I say unto you, you must be born again ( to go to Heaven)."✝️The true joy of Christ dwells in me! Does it in you? I know where I'm going when I die! Do you? I have an ETERNAL victory! Do you? I have more joy than ever because of what Christ has done. I have been down both roads. The road of the wicked and the road of Christ. Christ is way better and my cup runneth over with true joy and salvation. If you do not know the One true God and are not sure of your salvation, I promise He will never fail you. Turn to Him in repentance and faith. Repent means to confess and forsake your sins, never turning back to them. I tried changing on my own but I couldn't. It took the power of Christ on the inside of me to do it for me. He will give you a new and clean heart with new and clean desires and you shall be born again. A new creation in Christ Jesus! Hallelujah! Jesus said in order to enter the Kingdom of God, you must be born again! Thank you Lord Jesus!✝️
It's so nice to see people being proud of someone's sacrifice and desire to win. Some people find fault in this behavior, but true competitors "get it." This is regardless of the potential long term damage too. Push limits...
So many players do things like this is sports. You never see this type of grit and determination amongst kids outside of athletics which is one of the many reasons why I'll always be an advocate for sports.
I wasn’t a special operations soldier but because of my job I worked close with some of them and fighter pilots, all bad mother Fs but the baddest thing I ever saw was a female marine trying to complete the DOD Fire Academy obstacle course. If you want to graduate you get two tries to pass it under a certain amount of time . She started off well and half way through she snapped her forearm in half got up and kept going and finished in the allowed time. The most amazing feat of toughness I have ever seen from a female

@@brandoncoins8246there’s no money in lacrosse, my buddy was the top scorer in the ncaa, got drafted to his hometown team in the NLL and chose not to play bc it is pointless, he’d still need another job. Only millionaire lax players are the Gaits and they have an equipment line
He either loses while putting in all his effort or he wins while putting in all his effort, as long as the effort and dedication is put in to something, you can fail and be just fine.
I dislocated my finger a year ago. Jv game, down by 14, coach puts me in. ( im a half back who normally rides the bench ) The first string had gotten Injured. First play, 2 hole, pistol hand off. It’s snapped, I go for the ball and a 245 lbs pound defensive lineman rocked me, my finger looked like it was broke, but it was dislocated. I went to the bench for one play, coach called me a “ sissy “. The paramedics there came and taped up my finger, and snapped it back into place. I go back on the field have a long drive and score a touchdown. I got taken out but we won and advanced to regionals.
That "kid" is 22 years old and made his own choice to help Notre Dame win. He didnt win a game, he won a National Championship and you can never take that away from Pat.
@@TheFutureofthePlanet if he’s a professional, go for it. But he’s an amateur. The coaches and trainers are adults who are getting paid. He isn’t. I respect his toughness, but these coaches and trainers should have made him take a seat
I wish I had that type of mental strength and competitive nature. I’ve never had it, I don’t understand it but I wish I knew how to instill it into my children because it is without question extremely valuable.
@@frostedhams not really. I have toughness, Ive been stabbed twice, shot at, raised 5 kids (2) of which were really young when my wife passed away. I have defensive grit, but I think that’s very different than aggressive/focused drive. I had 2 of my sons in wrestling but same result. They are strong but always wrestled defensively, lacking what I call, the switch, that turns them into the aggressor. It’s a weird thing I wish I understood better. I also really wish I knew how to break the cycle for my kids. It really feels ingrained into our core personalities. Might make a good next book for Jocko…
Do things that challenge you run a mile. Challenging yourself is the hardest step. Then do 2 miles, 5miles the week after. The first step is the hardest. The rest is routine and dedication. Have that feeling of i need to do this to succeed to not be a failure. Have that eating you up
Read David goggins book, he used to be like you too but something just awakened in him, I know it’s in you too, first step is to challenge yourself physically
I believe I saw that kav said that he got his inspiration from a soldier doing the most to survive and fight after being wounded and said this was a similar situation for him. I love the mindset but the truth of the matter is that was a HELL of a risk to take considering if a soldier loses his leg in combat he’s taken care of for the rest of his life but if a college lax player loses his leg life as he knows it, his sport, his future, his team, his everything is lost. Not a very good decision but a great outcome 😂 Edit: Ik the VA is ass I come from a military family. And the whole “pros don’t get paid” is bs. They make over 50k a year on average. No that’s not as much as just about every other sport but I would be wayyyyyyy more than happy to be making that money playing the sport I love. Being able to play lax already makes me more happy than anything. Add that I don’t have to work on the side also and I would b the happiest mf god ever dropped.
As a Soldier myself for the past 25 years that’s not always the case. The VA system is broken severely. Some Soldiers get the care needed/ required to include compensation, but not all. I wish I knew where the disconnect was, but I personally don’t. Regardless should a Soldier loose a limb in “COMBAT” he shouldn’t have/ need to worry about anything for the rest of his life. My opinion only.
@@theevilgenius2262You shouldn’t even have to say “my opinion only.” It really pisses me off that soldiers don’t get what they need. Can’t imagine how they feel. Once I get some money all my charity goes to vets, keeping them healthy and off the streets
You aint going pro in lacrosse and making money js. He's now a legend to any non lacrosse fans and gained respect from millions. You judge other's for great feats instead of learning from someone with determination and striving for greatness
@@S1l3ntN1nja are you dense? What did you want me to name each hamstring muscle? It’s still called the hamstring muscle complex😭😭👍 also how the general public and doctors and pts refer to them, sick one bro your so smart and added a bunch to my comment, also who cares what it does for his recovery??? Championship senior year there’s no pros he can take as long as he needs😃
This brings me tears for the fact that you hold this in high regard and risk that kids leg for the rest of his life for one day... Those days of glory are meant for military men who are willing to die for their loved ones not for some pathetic athlete who just wants to be a glorious for a given day😢😢😢
@@BigRed2Shut up. Literally everyone in the world is better than you. Sorry you would’ve cried and went to hospital while he was strong enough to still compete 🤡
I completely ripped my hamstring in a big rugby tournament and played 2 more games that day. We played 8-10 games that day. It was rough we were all 15-16 and ambulances came and went all day. It was hardcore. I miss those days. Thank you ❤ ( I played left wing)
Rehab for what? College lacrosse is the peak of his career and a natty is what he's been working for since being a child. Pro lacrosse is basically a men's league, and nobody gets paid.
It is impossible to have this driving victory mindset in everything for life. That kind of willpower takes passion and commitment to something you love and are fighting for. The important thing is, when the time comes to push yourself to the end to succeed at your ultimate goal, you accept that push, and push it hard
The margin of error for him making it a career ending injury is too small, honestly we shouldn’t encourage this. His resolve is commendable, but they’re still kids with their whole life ahead of them. Good for him, but I’d hate for some little league coach in rural America seeing this and pushing some kid til he needs a wheelchair or gets in a coma from concussions.
Did the 20 other teammates score the most goals for the team three years straight or set the teams single season assist record twice or break the teams single game goal record twice with 10 goals?
Really, they couldn't. He worked so hard, did so much, carried so many with him. That put him in the position to make the call to go back out. When you have the respect and trust of your leaders, they will protect you in all ways. They understood they had a hard choice to make: potential sacrifice of a leg's functionality for the rest of the kids life or a lifetime of memories and regrets and what-if's that would consume a part of him for the rest of his life. I, personally, think he and staff made the right choice.
@n8vmilk this is absolutely true about his injury. I think we shouldn't promote it. However, These type of competitors are not common. They devote so much of themselves to their respective discipline as players, leaders, and friends/teammates. I believe if they did not accept that he would rather lose the leg than stay out, win or lose, he would have lost a part of himself in that moment that he could potentially never recover and could change his very character for the rest of his life. I think the coaches, in this particular case, made the right move. You can live a full life without a leg. It is much less likely you would live a full life with that type of regret.
I'll play lacrosse myself. It isn't a sport for the weak or faint hearted. You will be beat up, you will get checked and no matter what. You're gonna have fun It's the fastest sport on two feet and I wish it was our national sport or just as if not more popular then Football and Baseball. It's so much more to watch and play. And I've played all 3.
Let's go!!!!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥WHATEVER IT IS YOU ARE PURSUING IN LIFE. GET IT DONE!!!!! YOU TOO CAN BE A LEGEND. IF NOT TO THE WORLD, AT LEAST TO YOUR MIRROR❤ GO HARD!!!
If you don’t know, you don’t know. You will do anything for your boys. It doesn’t matter. It’s the greatest feeling on earth and somehow the more you give, the more you get. But you never think about getting. The only thing you want to do is give. There is nothing like it on the planet. I miss it.
which is better, a bag of money that will last you a month or a non-physical feeling of victory and a story that could inspire thousands for a life lasting career? seems to me all you care about is the money.
I tore a hamstring in my left leg... never went to the doctor... it turned black from my ass passed my calf... for over a week... it changed the way my heart beats... it still affects my heartbeat about 20 years later... one part got torn from the bone, and the rest were stretched beyond what they were used to... I'm still suffering from it... don't forget to love yourself... you still might have years to live after such injuries... you won't be the same... you lose plenty of confidence in yourself... not as sure-footed as you once was...
I played through plenty of injuries but the one time I came out of a basketball game because of what felt like daggers in my lower back & intense pain, in front of my father while I was playing against my old teammates he used to coach. He was disappointed & we lost. I can never get that moment back & will always regret not playing through it. I was coming off a ACL tear & wanted to take care of my body where I could but I still feel ashamed for letting my team down. We don’t get second chances but what ifs
As someone that thought nothing in the world was more important than sports, thought it would be my life forever, as a 36 year old that is damn near crippled I highly recommend these kids think long term. I absolutely get the passion and desire. But sometimes mind over matter goes the other way.
Jocko needs to come to Outback Australia. I played with a bloke in Reserve Grade rugby who played 40 minutes of a semi final with a compound fractured forearm. Still one of the most gruesome things I’ve seen on a footy field
Lacrosse doesn’t get the attention it deserves as a warriors’ sport. Genuinely have never played a sport so brutal in my life. Finish games with completely black and blue arms, scuffed up and cut up legs, and even popped out shoulders.
Tape is amazing. And it’s probably somehow a copy down the line of when a guy tore his acl and since it is fine unless it pops out they used the fitness band to prevent hyper extension and then twisted two bangs on the side of the kneee cap and taped it to his thigh and kept it from overlapping when he stopped.just like here idk how much it actually worked and how much was pure adrenaline cuz just like the kid who bandaged his acl it was barely on my the end of the game. But this was seen at a college game in the 90s by a athletic trainer at my college which was the top schoo on the nation for PT and athletic training so he went back and made a knee brace that guys wear now for their acl aftwr surgery but u can attach rubber bands on the giant knee brace to hold the positions I mentioned prior. So I imagine whoever had this idea is somehow connected to the people who developed tried and pattened it cuz they are all top of the top in their fields and I know all of them taught at one point, trained a ton of athletic trainers and I bet somehow that story started this idea into manifestation
I tore my right hamstring one time and could barely walk or run... our football medic taped my leg up really tight and I played for the rest of the season on a torn hammy. Shit hurt so bad I could hardly take it
I was at this game a few months ago and i don’t think i saw this. I was farther away so it could’ve been my view but Norte Dame ended up winning after losing to Duke in 2 championships before this one
