We use an air fryer instead of the stove And I'm with you on the Mexican style home with the boveda ceilings and bright colors

Traditionally a working persons/Family home in Mexico were built according to the money they had at the time. Typically they would first buy the lot (el lote) then depending on how much money they had that year is what they would build. They may start with the living room and a bathroom or more just depending on how much they could afford to build and as they would save they would build more. Cabinets and closets cost money and would delay the build, plus back in the day they didn't really need them. A completed house may of taken them years to build.

I went though Jojocetep the other day..i loved the plaza. And all the cute stores. Lots of Viveros around. We live in San Antonio Tlayacapan so kinda in the middle of Ajijic and Chapala

I live in San Juan Cosala (y'all just drove past my street - haha!) and I love the Joco plaza. I think it's one of the prettiest actually. I love all the markets surrounding. It has a very different layout & feeling! The food is also excellent, much more affordable than Ajijic as pointed out. Cheers

Thank you for this series. :) I thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm planning to move to the area in a year or two and your videos are informative. I believe I can answer the questions about the lack of cupboards and cabinets. Years ago I moved to rural Nova Scotia (Canada) from Montreal and bought a small farm. The farm house was built over 110 years ago. Although it has seen many upgrades over the years, the kitchen did not have any cupboards and none of the bedrooms had cabinets. I think it might be a "modern" thing to have these items while in the old days, they'd simply build standalone furniture to keep their "stuff".... Does this make sense?

Per my Mexican wife, most people used armoires or wardrobes as a carryover from Europe. We own a new home in Puebla and all secondary bedrooms have closets with built-in dressers, the primary bedroom has a much larger closet with built-in dressers, but it is a walkthrough not a walk-in (walkthrough to en-suite.

They may lack in closets, but there are many perks. Hence the many expats. Get a wardrobe and call it a day.

Have you seen Jerry Brown’s latest video? He still loves Ajijic as a long time resident but he had several real concerns: 1) lack of infrastructure, not keeping up with the rapid pace of new housing construction) 2) water (he has to get buckets of pool water to flush his toilet) 3) bad traffic Did she touch on these issues? Also, would a new refinery negatively impact air quality?

WhoHey, great questions! all that she spoke about was the bad traffic as far as I recall. I do believe though that if these concerns were brought up to her that she’d be able to give you satisfactory answers to the best of her ability! Thank you again for the great questions :-)

This video was from a while back. And honestly it's still hardly popular when compared to both Chapala and Ajijic. It's still very far from what people consider "civilization" which makes it difficult for many to want to live there in comparison to other places in lakeside.

Why? Didn't you mention in your other comment that the entire world is in decline and that the digital dollar (as well as other things) will destroy the world as we know it? "Influencing" seems to be the last thing you should be worried about in that case 🤷‍♂️
