Exactly I agree with Jody on gangsta boo music and Memphis and knowing his career path and the goat terminology with the greats running away from the industry

But just like when bro said people don't him he don't know us (the audience) when he said I was listening to Late Night Tip and he said they don't know about that .. they who??? Because me being from Baltimore at that.. be on Gangsta Boo since Live By Yo Rep and her verse on Gangsta Blac song A Couple of Jackers... I was Rocking with Boo verse on the 36 Album The End when they made that Gotcha Shakin diss for Playa Fly
Yep, you a real one. You know all the old songs and the history that some Memphis people don't know. You got me looking for that old HDD with all that old music on it, just so I can hear Live By Yo Rep. Baltimore one of the few places that fucked with us for real. I just wish I had more of y'alls underground music for my collection.
@@SlinkyD with me bro anything I get into its thorough... Prophet Podsse - Body Parts, Indo G, Project Pat Ghetty Green.... Playa Fly - Tha Game Owe Me, Gangsta Blac... Mystic Styles, Killa Klan Kaze, T- Rock - . Rock Solid 420, Kings of Memphis vol 3, etc etc etc Koopata Knicca Devils playground
Late night Tip is one of the most popular songs that they made. Jody just be saying anything that he think sound good. Everybody knows about that damb song.
Well, this is what happens when there are no standards. Everything is "subjective." Who fault is that though? In this genre of music, anything goes. If you take a step back and look at the heavy metal genre, anything does not go. Doesn't matter whether it's independent or mainstream. If you take another step back and look at the country genre, you'll find that again, anything does not go. Ain't nobody in heavy metal worried about the "G.O.A.T." or who done fell off. Same applies to country. Lauryn Hill & Missy Elliot are rendered old has-beens, in hip-hop. Dolly Parton gets revered while she's sleeping, in country. She can make new music worry-free and get the support from a major label/distribution. I've neeeeeeeeeever heard a younger Southern artist call her out of her name or go on month-long relevancy tours discussing whether such & such artist is relevant or not. I've heard Nicki Minaj do that though. Look at history, fellas. Every artist has they time to shine and impact folks' lives before the industry phases them out for the next wave of artists. Michael Jackson ruled the '80s, but by the mid '90s, he "fell off" (respectfully using that term to make a point). After Prince's _Diamonds and Pearls_ LP, he fell off. Don't nobody know nothin' after 1991, maaaaaybe 1992. It's not the artist, it's the machine. They flip the switch and determine how long you gon be in the mainstream. Debbie Gibson fell off after the '80s. She made hella LPs during the '90s that nobody's heard. Brit Spears fell off. Madonna fell off. R. Kelly fell off. B2K fell off. Godsmack fell off. Catch my drift? Nah, Jody, you spoke on the influencers like Charleston White, Caresha, etcetera, but they're only giving folks what they want. I understand what you said (w/o saying), but eh... This is what folks want. Folks want easy-breezy entertainment. When you tune into Caresha platform, it's easy-breezy. Hell, I tune into easy-breezy entertainment sometimes, but for the most part, I be watchin' like lil' Nat Geo wildlife documentaries. I be watchin' impalas get they life took by cheetahs and stuff like that. How deep do the ocean go? That's what I watch. I listen to smooth jazz. These kids listen to drill. Catch my drift?
Personally, I do not conflate HipHop w/ Rap(Trap,Drill). HipHop is Biggie, 2Pac, A Tribe Called Quest, OutKast, Missy, De La Soul, JCole, Kendrick, etc. Rap is lyrics supported by hard Trap and Drill beats. HipHop has soul! Rap has no soul and will sell (tell) you anything.
Please put some respect on Lauryn Hill's name by spelling it properly. The title & several comments got it wrong. LAURYN is the correct spelling. Rant over 🤣.
Facts 💯 but Jody been inconsistent & not enough material‼️ He hasn’t improved & makes like Wht he did up til now legendary? He was hot 🥵 rapper for a hot sec. I’m way in the Midwest
Hip hop will never be good cis we playin wit the devil its always going to go left period. And we are never going to make it right. Its only going to.get worse and all we are going to do is keep having these conversations till its all over.
Lauren Hill didn't want to pay who helped her write that album & now she struggles to write for herself .... I don't understand how she (boo) was real but they didn't make muzik with her
If you are going to claim yourself as The G-O-A-T in RAP‼️then challenge the one who coined it in a rap battle his name is L.L. Cool J Muhammad Ali is gone I’m talking about Rap 🫡 I’m sure O.G Wick will agree #GhettoMafia
