I may sound a bit idealist, but let me say that I think that America's support for Israel will be one of the reasons for its downfall, and here's why. After WW2, the US became the most important superpower in the world. That was not only due to the allies winning the war, but also because America's own allies trusted the US to be consistently aligned with a certain set of values. You see, the US has always presented itself to the world as a rightous state. They fought on the right side in WW2, and made sure to present valid reasons for many of the wars they fought, in their support of the values of Democracy, justice and security. However, the US has been making many decisions that were simply not aligned with these values anymore, from their support of the Middle Eastern tyrants, even toppling democracies in the region like they did with Iran, to their unnecessary wars with completely underpowered nations like Iraq. Let nationalism and emotions out of this, how can the allies of the US trust it after seeing their true face of greedy capitalistic Machiavellism? In my opinion, it's also the reason behind Putin's complete disregard for the US, as he perfectly knows how their foreign policy isn't based on the same set of values that made them great in the first place, but on the pure "interests" of a few corporations. That's why I believe without a shadow of doubt that the US will slowly detoriate to the point of no return overtime, because they've abandoned the values on which their empire was created.
