remember this, I was impressed by the ability to change into uniform
@CheekyCommodoreGamer
@CheekyCommodoreGamer Месяц назад
Haha yeah I liked that too. I was even impressed when I figured I could dress like one of the Treens on Dan Dare too... there was a hidden uniform within the game which I located on the Live video I did of it haha 😇🕹👌

I still have JOE BLADE on the same tape as AZIMUTH: HEAD ANLIGNMENT KIT. It is absolutely a legendary classic game 😺👍🕹️.

Ahh nice I didn't realise it came with that - was it on the B side of the tape or something? Awesome idea 😇🕹👌

@@CheekyCommodoreGamer Yes, it was on the B side of the tape 😺👍.

Very nice game. Third part was also great with enhanced possibilities and minipuzzles. Two things bugged me when I played this: no ammo count and you couldn't jump bombs over - they primed anyway (at least on ZX).
@CheekyCommodoreGamer
@CheekyCommodoreGamer Месяц назад
I agree, the ammo count is annoying - I actually thought it was infinite ammo for a time when I revisited this, then all of a sudden I couldn't fire my fun... a counter would have been very helpful. Never played Joe Blade 3 - but I can imagine it was more of the same as 1 & 2, alas that was only released on Amstrad & Speccy I believe 😇🕹️👌

Bloodfinger....sounds like a villain who picks his nose a lot.

Haha yeah the gravity is a little bit 'off' when jumping thats for sure! 😇🕹️👌

Ahh yes now you come to mention it! It's a strange little game this one, but strangely hard to put down once you make progress with the bomb disarmament 💣🕹👌

Nice video, thanks for making it. Is it just me. Or were there a lot of 8 bit computer games that were prison related Seems like that was a popular setting back then.
@CheekyCommodoreGamer
@CheekyCommodoreGamer Месяц назад
Prison games or prison themed games were rife back in the 80s. My very favourite one of all time however came out for the Amiga with 'Escape From Colditz'... love that game dearly ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UXqZyKmeIlA.html 😇🕹️👌

I'd love it when Mum took me to the market and if I'd been particularly well behaved she'd get me 2 x budget titles at £1.99 a pop. Good Times 😇🕹👌

utterly amazing how many games i've never heard of in my LIFE you come up with, Cheeky! And I always thought I had a near-unmatched collection of C64 warez back in the day! Another one to check out in GameBase64. (btw, Arnie was great, Arnie 2 was GARBAGE!)
@CheekyCommodoreGamer

I have to thank both my brother and my Mum for that. My brother at being fantastic at procuring them from school from his villainous pirates in the schoolyard and also my Mother for allowing me to buy 1 or 2 a week from our local market stall... for around 8 years! 😇🕹️👌

Great stuff mate, your scripts are allways funny and well thought out, loved joe blade 2 and its weird bins and tramps, sent off for it from players game from the advert in eagles nest, allways fancied powerplay too but never got, keep up the excellent work mate 🎉

There was another strangely obscure title from Players Software I added to the channel a while back called 'Sword Slayer' - did you ever play this one? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-jXkOaDR9Zrw.html 😇🕹️👌

@CheekyCommodoreGamer
@CheekyCommodoreGamer Месяц назад
Worth a try for sure, it's very easy to play and the only parts that are frustrating really is the fact it is so easy to get lost... or use up keys for doors you've already been through 😆🕹👌
@Syragar
@Syragar Месяц назад
@@CheekyCommodoreGamer That's the thing about C64 games that emphasized exploration. Very rarely would you see any kind of map! That's something that became more common in future games. I would get lost so easily in games that focused on exploration... but I still loved them!

Great game. I always thought that the graphics were pretty good in Joe Blade.

Can't remember if there was a game called bazooka Joe or was it Bozooka Bill
@CheekyCommodoreGamer

Bazooka Bill in good ole 1985... a much easier 'Green Beret' type game that one. Still, one I definitely remember 😇🕹️👌

I finally completed Joe blade 2 after 34 years last week. What was that game even about?
@CheekyCommodoreGamer
@CheekyCommodoreGamer Месяц назад
Crazy game... Kill 100 thugs and rescue 20 civilians within ten minutes? Sounds like it would have made a great 'Squid Game' type concept haha. Grats on beating it though... always good to complete a game, even after 34 years! 😇🕹️👌

You know I don't really think this is blood fingers fault. I mean when you're born with the name blood finger you don't have a lot of other options in life besides villainy
@CheekyCommodoreGamer
@CheekyCommodoreGamer Месяц назад
Very true... I always love how villiains in cartoons and in this instance, games, were all given such superb bad guy names. Like you say, when born with such names their careers are already mapped out in front of them haha 😇🕹️👌
@Codetapper

The jumping mechanic in this game was really stupid. Why Joe has to jump half the screen when he walks is totally unnecessary. I guess it was a budget game though. I do remember completing this a few times though.

You'd almost believe that this game was set on the moon. Maybe if they all had little spacesuits on then the jumping could be ignored haha 😇🕹️👌
