Now the the dust has settled. I’m happy everyone went there’s separate ways away from the toxicity. Rory and Mal got their bag, and Joe is having some of the better podcasting in years lol.
He isn't, after 6 years of watching the pod that became clear as day to me after a few of those years. I only stayed with the pod because the dynamic was great
This WAS the greatest pod of all time. Rory was the best b-mic in the game. I find it INCREDIBLY hard to believe that Joe wouldn't be making more money profit-sharing with R+M than he's currently making with the +7+ ppl currently on the show. This crew had a chokehold on the game. They made Joe SEEM like a bearable personality and gave him a cultural currency I don't think he's had since.
There are some lessons for everyone here but the biggest one for me is perhaps it’s not good to be around your friends every week. Absence makes the heart grow fonder.
I feel like the pod at it’s peak was great content but man just knowing how it ended and Joe publicly bashing Rory and Mal never sat right with me knowing they never said one thing publicly about that man, I’m glad they both went they’re separate ways and is doing better started watching Joes pod again and it’s good wish nothing but the best for all of them hopefully we get a re union episode a year or two down the line
High Joe started trippin’ like he holds no accountability because on top of whatever behind the scenes financial shit he started talkin’ to them crazier & was basically on some fuck the fans shit…less grateful it was cringe worthy. Almost as cringey as trying to watch the pod now ESPECIALLY when he’s clearly tweakin’ & them niggas just actin’ like its normal.
I love Joe and i love rory and mal, and i listen to both podcasts today but just in that 20 minutes clip there are so many occasions both Rory and Mal should have socked him in the face lol
I watched every episode. I remember a lot of passive aggressive invitations to throw hands by Rory. That’s when Joe vibes changed towards him. Joe had to come out and say he didn’t want to fight Rory.
Maaaaannnnnn I miss the side jabs n awkwardness lol especially the 360 deal shots fired but I haven’t watched too much of the pod since they have left just don’t feel right man
Mal saying the succes from the pod is not bc of joes music career is a half truth, yes we didn’t listen to his music but his music gave us that “oh it’s joe budden” the success comes from joe being witty, well versed in the industry, and hilarious. And also the chemistry you three had, but truth be told a lot of us would listen to joe budden just talking in a studio apartment, he made the show.
And that is where Rory & Mal had the most money questions. Asking how the payout was the same from venue to venue. Only time will tell if they ever do live shows.😏
