I think Joe was expecting the M Ford that would visit the pod from time to time but they also pile on and are very condescending and insulting to her, especially Joe. Its hard to watch/listen sometimes.

I heard that comment on the last episode and I was like WTF? This can’t be the same Joe Budden that will literally over talk and cut off Mel and Flip (which is definitely who he is talking about). Any time the rest of the cast is cooking on a subject, he the first one to say “can we move on now?” Simply because he’s done talking about the topic.

They always want more money and don’t do shit to earn it. Melissa and parks should be the only ones exempt from this convo, but of course he would want to highlight her. Every time parks talk it’s more impactful than anyone up there running their mouths saying absolutely NOTHING!
Mel needs to be on a podcast with other women. She doesn’t have good chemistry with the guys. Her friend that she was hating on had more chemistry with them than she does. I also hear Joe’s dog whistle insults. He called her a childless cat mom the other day and chuckled to himself. He comes across like she curved him back in her heyday and this is his shot at revenge. He makes invalidating comments about everything she says and she’s the butt of all of his jokes. He is a narcissist that gets energy from the emotional responses he gets from others. He loves to say that he is an empath but he is not. He has an uncanny ability to see all perspectives in situations, and is extremely smart but cannot see himself through the lens of others.
Man I would genuinely love to see Demaris from the Rory and Mal pod to join these old uncs for one episode. Or at least to hear what Joe has to say about her .
Parks is the only one that doesn’t need to say much he’s the engineer, his one liners hit almost everytime and when he does have an input it’s mostly related to the music industry which I really appreciate.
Very true, I'm glad Joe caught onto this because I listen to the podcast every Wednesday and Saturday and man oh man, you will forget that Ish is even there. Melyssa doesn't talk for more than 2 minutes in 30 minutes fractions and Ice really tries, I can give him that, he's willing to try to keep the integrity of the show going. Me being a listener, I notice that all Ish really do is laugh at Joe's jokes and it's always these looooong 15 seconds breaks where they just say "Woooooooooooo, woooooo, woooooo" coming down from the joke that wasn't that hilarious. That happens about 10 times a pod when Ish is there. All he really says is "Wow what's wrong with your brain?" rizzing up Joe. QF, Ice and Joe is all Joe needs. They are the Rory and Mal of the podcast. Ice knows music, QF brings insight and loud comedy while Joe does what he does. I'm shocked every time I see them on video seeing how different they look because I'm strictly a 5+ year LISTENER and you feel every empty spot times 10. Joe is right and I'm glad he caught on.
I think it would be for the best for Mel to leave. Its not entertaining to see/hear 6-7 dudes make a woman feel like shit. Joe is the A mic and producer. Melyssa's failures are Joe's fault, not hers. Who wants to hear Melyssa get asked if she is okay with a dude cheating every episode?

Joe would be better off splitting the cast into to 2 separate days and mix up the rotations to keep variety. Then you’d also see who ppl like the most. For example: Wednesday Pod • Ice • Mel • Joe • Parks Saturday Pod: •Flip •Ish • Emanny • Joe • Parks Also have flip do flip the script again. Then Make Mel do her own show like they originally agreed. And if she can’t make it happen, then she’d have to cut whatever pay she’s getting. She’s insightful when she’s allowed to speak or if their discuss a topic she’s passionate about, but she can’t just get paid to hang out. To be fair, they shut Mel down most of the time she tried to get her takes off, so it’s on her to assert herself and move the needle. Also, Joe is guilty of not pushing the envelope and not “telling the truth” “ima tell the truth one day” 😂😒. Like bruh, just tell the truth and spill the tea. That’s why we’re here. Having guest also hurts the show unless it’s a for sure viral moment like when Pusha T came on. Ian and Joe are also too smart for their own good by betting against their best interest by doing shit like pay walling a Dr. Umar episode. Same for the Candace Owen’s interview. Especially since Joe isn’t informed and did little prep, and wouldn’t challenge her, making it a waste of time for him to interview her solo.

Probably because that’s the only time Joe lets her talk. They want her to have these bird brain takes when it comes to sexist arguments but when she doesn’t say what they want they cut her off and make fun of her like some middle school kids.
In those moments when Joe is alone with his thoughts, when the designer slippers are off and all the baddies are tucked in fast alseep that Joe regrets that whole Rory and Mal break up thing. He’s got too. The show is in a decline. And the worst thing a podcast can be is boring and it’s been like this for a while.

As soon as Mel starts saying something the other men don't agree with then Joe starts saying she can go to Starbucks. Marc Lamont Hill is more mature than others on the show and you got another level of conversation out of her.
My only problem is him coming at Parks. The sound quality alone especially compared to other shows, makes him extra valuable. He doesn't need to speak more. His one- liners are funnier and more memorable than 40 minutes of the others. This is really about Mel and Ish
I saw that Mark Lamont Hill was on so I watched the episode. First episode I’ve watched in a year. I think the podcast would benefit from having him as a monthly guest. He brings a level of knowledge the show doesn’t provide.
tracking minutes of talking time is robotic af. all this business mind/analytic shit is slowly been ruining the pod. every since rory n mal left theres been too much focus on money, numbers, analytics etc. they barely talk about the things most people care about and they beat around the bush of topics too much.
If you’re running a business you MUST pay attention to the numbers. Being paid to be a podcaster and barely speaking is like stealing time at a 9-5 job. GET TO WORK!!! The only problem is he kicks their backs in publicly which isn’t the best professionally but smart if you want to apply more pressure.
I think joe puts up with it because he knows she is fine and good eye candy...and he got her to move across the country..he has some type of ownership in that decision and to fire her with no paycheck n NY is a hurt piece.. he gnna obligate at least 3 contracts before he says iight u should have enuff saved to move back or move on to summn else.
Mel shows signs of a woman being tired of having to battle and defend every thought she presents to the room. When you are in that state, you realize there is peace in your silence. Especially to a group of men who don’t value your input, then gaslight you about the lack there of. I like Mel and I like the guys, just not together. Mel is more mature in the content she provides and they (Joe) seems to want someone willing to mud sling. It’s just not a good fit. She shines in spaces where women (and their views and opinions) are valued more.
