46-0. The great Calzaghe was requested a long long time ago, so I'm happy to have finally made it. Will definitely upload the Sam Langford video next week. Hope you're all having a good start to the new year.
Why dont u start giving credits to the background music, thats not nice of u, we all like the music and we eant to know what kind of music u use? Why is that so hardto do
Finally, been waiting on this video, Joe Calzaghe one of the most underrated boxers ever, retired undefeated and definitely belongs among the legends of boxing
@@robgrant5272 Joe is underrated...I'm not sure what you are talking about. He didn't get exposure until the Jeff Lacy fight. a lot of fighters joe calzaghe fought had a minimum of 20 wins with 1 loss. History has erased it, but he was the first true undisputed super middleweight champion. He had a terrific resume and that casual boxing audience scoff at because they only focused on American fighters and well known names of that time. You can easily argue that his resume is better than Roy Jones Jrs before the Tarver loss. If you disagree with facts than you don't know shit about boxing.
This is probably Rainy Day Boxings best video. I love the opening scene with Calzaghe standing outside his blue shed boxing club, so primitive yet so great. Calzaghes engine was the best becuase of the running he did in the hills. Good demonstration of also his speed, intensity and the late Enzo Calzaghe who made Joe Calzaghe's success
Sir Joe motoring up those Welsh hills and valleys day after day with Enzo firing him on... no wonder he could throw so many punches, he was relentless. And what a class man as well.
The first and so far only boxer I've cared about enough to follow from start to finish. I first saw him on TV whilst still at school and watched his last 2 fights on the verge of my 30s with all my friends, it was quite a big deal we all chipped in to pay for the fights. Maybe my favourite boxer of all time, but I do change my mind a lot, but he probably is.
What's amazing about Joe is his output is pretty much consistent AND intense for full 12 rounds. Combined with his skill, it's no wonder he retired with an unblemished round. Definitely an all time great! 💯
One of the greatest boxers to come out of the UK, considering he had brittle hands, he had an amazing career, watching him live his speed was unbelievable, love the video 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Hey buddy, I hope all is going well for you. Been a while since my last upload and since you're always so kind to check up on me, I thought I'd let you know that I'm close to finishing a Smokin Joe doc and a Jack Dempsey training video. Hopefully you'll be able to see them next month. Cheers mate! 🥊
The third longest undefeated championship only behind the great Brockton Blockbuster and Floyd Jr as well as arguably the greatest Super Mid of all times. In an age of guys bouncing up and down in class, Joe laid claim to his division and locked down all four belts as well as the Ring mag one... As pure a combo of blistering speed and ring IQ as has ever competed with an iron chin to boot. Also arguably the best conditioning in boxing history based solely on his punch output per round and per fight. He only moved up in weight twice, both times taking out all time greats in Roy Jones Jr and BHop at light heavy. Joe was the Pride of Wales and boxing as well. Love this guy and how he motivated me in the ring and out. Old school boxer in the modern era and the most underrated non heavyweight of all time
@@bigghoww ward had to cheat his way through fights and got gift decisions and joe defeated a prime undefeated kessler that ward had to headbutt 20 times to win against a washed kessler
Floyd Jr doesn't even count as a boxer to me He just payed opposition to lose. Joe was 100% real Nobody can say anyone is better than him. Floyd ducked Joe loved the challenge Therefore Joe is already better than floyd
When talent meets hard work you get a Joe Calzaghe. Father a jazz musician not a “world class trainer” incorporated jazz into his training and made one of the best fighters ever
None better, The GOAT. Two Weight World Champion. The best super - middleweight to have ever laced up gloves. He is without doubt the most underrated boxer to have lived, I miss watching him go to work.
@@197615july he fought nobodies he barely beat an old Roy Jones and an old Bernard Hopkins he fought in a very weak division gad no power pitty pat puncher
I couldn’t stand calzaghe when he was fighting…always wanted him to lose! Then I watched him on the gloves are off and thought this guy isn’t as arrogant as I thought…very humble for a guy with his record….then I went back and looked over his career….amazing fighter….quick hands with power. And to think he didn’t spar because of his hand injuries and his dad giving up his career to train his son and adapting there training regime….amazing.
Michael second to Nunn had a beautiful style that forced opponents to fight like him kinda like the mma fighter Nick Diaz with the southpaw and pressure and weathering the storm. Michael Nunn would be a great addition to rainy day if u can find enough footy of that beautiful unorthodox style
Why do you take so long to upload? I always peep every time there's upload and i end up disappointed but every times ones comes i drool with excitement 😅 thanks for these motivation
I know I was really hoping to upload this video a while ago, but something happened over the holiday period that forced me to take a month off 😰Appreciate your support Asheru, hopefully the next video won't take as long to pop on your notification tab 🙏
@@bigghoww he literally fought everyone he could. None of the us fighters Saw an incentive in fighting calzaghe because once again American fans are xenophobic and see European as inferior fighters. He fought a prime Kessler who is a very good fighter and Jeff lacy who the American s were seriously hyping up. then Hopkins who then went on to win a title again after Joe and his last fight was against Roy jones
I dont know why he doesnt get love too. I think Pacquiao and Mayeesther - two figures that were on a huge screen, i respect and like them both, but sometimes it happens in every industry, even music. Because of a huge hype of the fighters(Pacquiao actually was a great fighter that deserves to be the greatest, especially at his peak, where he was unstoppable versus de La Hoya, Cotto and Hatton. The same with Mayweather). Its like Lil Pump took the rap industry from 2017-2019, so nobody else showed the same hype, althiugh there were more better rappers than him that could blow up like him.
But it doesnt mean that he doesnt deserve love, because he was underrated boxer. He can be even better than Mayweather, if we look at the styles. Also, Joe had special hook style, where his hook had rounded form, so it seemed like he was slapping instead of throwing a hook.
Joe was a great fighter - came in beating Eubank another great, defended for so many years, gave Lacy a nice boxing lesson and finished off with a couple of legends (RJJ, Hopkins) to top up the pension.
Appreciate the support for the channel! Have already got some Barrera and Valero footage cut and ready to assemble in the future, will add Matthysse to my to do list now.
Joe was a freek that engine was something else and great boxing skills and movement if you really know about joes career his hands were smashed to bits half the time so he couldn’t spar.He fought a lot of fights with no sparing you’ve got to be good to do that he had a chin to he only got big at the end of his career he just wast popular but I always rated him. He’d of beat most guys in that division going back years I think.
Great hand speed Joe had, I still can't get past him not going to America sooner in his career to fight the likes of Hopkins & Jones. Fought them when they were done, Kessler is probably his greatest win.
I see the past a Mike Tyson sparring video whith I Am Giant- Neon Sunrise and City Limits songs, but i not find. That was your video? Can you reupload please?
I recently received copyright strikes for some of my old Mike Tyson training videos and I unfortunately didn’t back up a couple of them, that one included. I’m pretty sure you can find that video re-uploaded on Facebook, with different background music though.
@@RainyDayBoxing Oh no, please not change the background music, that video was just so perfect with 2 songs. I saw a lot of times a few year ago when i boxing. It will be not the same with other songs. I think facebook will not remove, if you upload there.
If he was American he’d be considered one of the goats even more than he is. He is the best super middle/light heavy of all time. Everyone try’s to use the age of Roy Jones and Hopkins as a way to discredit him, but when you realise he was near enough the same age it’s no excuse. Plus look at the record he had taken out before them says it all.
