And I just noticed the viewcount....holy shit that's basically viral for a knife video. You didn't even use any keyword hashtags or write a description? Damn Gina.
By the way...Thank you for the comparison video. It’s far as I know you were the first person to take possession of both products and do a side-by-side comparison. Keep up the good work
@@terafanatic I am finally getting my hands on the provoke. It only took 6 months. I really REALLY hope it was worth this ridiculous wait! Do you currently EDC either one of these? and of so why if not why?. Thanks!!
Heck yeah it is,I actually got to get my hands on one for first impression at smokey mountain knife works an let me tell you, it's definitely worth the money, badass as hell
@@gabrielpeck3696 ,I agree bit check out amazon for a trainer, they run about 119.00,if you buy fox it's double but you get there knife too, also look at cold dead hands, they made one like coldsteel but they give you a training one with theirs when you buy it.
I recommend some clear pre lube grease on all the pivot points. Same stuff you would use for steering rack bushings or sway bar bushings. My knife was either too tight or too loose before I lubed it. I could never adjust it quite right before and was very disappointed for spending almost $200. Wear some gloves and coat a cue tip and lube all the holes. Stuff is water proof so very hard to get off your hands or surfaces in general. Hope this helps anyone having problems with this very expensive knife.
Thanks for the video! I'm still waiting to receive my MKV2 from the kickstarter. Was very cool to see both side by side and explore all the minute differences. One thing I like on the provoke that the millit version does not have is the grooves on the clip. I didn't know that the millit version shipped w/tools either. So excited about this knife! Great video thanks again!!
3 years later, and there are folk saying that they're cutting their pockets on their CRKT blades and CRKT themselves advertise buying and using their separate sheath for carrying. It seems like having different karambits with an Emerson Wave or similar opening mechanism is better. I was stoked for these when they first came out but now I'm glad I waited. I hope that in the futire this style is expanded upon and improved like how we're seeing the Benchmade Axis lock being improved right now. I think what this design needs is an assisted opening system to _really_ give it a pop, and to use that as an excuse to incorporate a saftey mounted either on or near the finger ring or near it. Post 00's knives you don't see safties on assisted openers anymore, but in their earlier appearances(like the Leek or Barrage) they had a place. I don't think a safety on a non-assisted knife would fly well, but I think if there was a new assited mechanism in this one you could slide it with relatively little upset by the knife community.
I bought the zap version for my son and the D2 serrated blade for myself. I carried his zap in my pocket while working with no issues. The pocket deployment worked flawlessly every time as it was designed for, the designer talks about that being part of its design.
I was visiting the City Oceanside in California and there is store in a mall (The Shoppes at Carlsbad Mall) called Watch Edge, and they are selling the CRKT Provoke $199.99.
@@s1l3nze lol dude in the vid must not know what a "mall ninja" is, because this knife is the definition of mall ninja. Is it cool? Hell yeah. Is it functional? Maybe, I don't know. In a real life scenario would you rather have this than a full tang/non folding karambit? Probably not. Totally mall ninja. (Don't get me wrong, it isn't BAD because it is, it just is. Tacticool has it's place, as long as you know tacticool usually isn't ready for a fight.)
Hey can someone help me, I really want a transforming karambit like this one, but I'm left handed. Does anyone know a left handed option of this style karambit that's available? Thanks.
@@slashieslashie1176 for one this knife take the karambit style of knife and turns it into a practical edc….. since the knife is styled to be a karambit it’s already in a good position to be a self defense weapon… if your career is combat orientated then yes a full tang karambit would indeed be better but this is for everyday carry use and self defense if needed
I finally got my hands on the Millit knives Morphing Karambit. Having owned the provoke for just over a year and being very familiar with its feel and function I can tell you firsthand that there is a world of difference between these two knives!
@ bigsquiddanger I picked one up aftermarket from a very long time and close personal friend who unfortunately needed some cash. I’m sure if you look around you might find someone who is looking to sell one. 4/2/23 0144hrs
If no one has explained yet. There was an article going around the web about a decade ago about a security guard in a mall. This guy was so tacticool that the term “Mall Ninja” was born. It’s a fun read and I think you’ll get a laugh.
Yea I have the provoke. It's amazing. Beautiful. Gorgeous. Fun. A bit of advice. But 2. You'll want one for EDC and another in the collection/ just in case drawer.
@@TheLaughinginthedark idk for sure, but I imagine it’s just a very “effective” concealed weapon or something. Something very discreet, but equally deadly. This knife certainly checks out both boxes.
Ide love to know why the change the hardware on the provoke I would love the ones on yours mine has front and back same as the other one in this video the non crkt model they loosen up an I have to tighten them allot
I wish CRKT would use better steel in all of there knives besides their chance in hell series . I've owned dozens of there products and the steel in the blades is always why they get shelved eventually .
I ordered one awhile ago and it just keeps getting delayed and delayed. Sent to the wrong shipment center twice and delayed in transit twice. I just want to get it already.
Don't forget, they do sell a holster for the Provoke ! If you carry it in your Levi's front pocket, it will deploy when you pull it out ! Fastest deployment I have ever seen ! Nearly like pulling out a Fixed Blade ! Try it, you'll love it ! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Advanced Cutlery @ Westfield Arcadia CA stocks a number of CRKT products including the provoke!!! There you have it folks… The most ninja mall in existence is Westfield Arcadia.
someone call it the deadliest knife "karambit" even a martial art practitioner will take time to disarm that weapon.. some south east asian martial artist knows how to play that deadly toy
I love both, but wish both knives were same blade steel instead of D2 steel but since I'd only use it for self defense than no worries, I don't plan on cutting anyone, but you never know when you may have to use it.
do you know of any similar folding features with a blade length of less than 2 inches? i want the peace of mind of being able to carrying this concealed without breaking any rules.
I understand why you would think that, id think anyone who said that too was crazy if i didnt see if for myself as well, and welp im canadian, we have this store called the “house of knives” they are only located in malls for my provence, so as far as ik they are a mall only store, and in the mall by were i live they had that knife for about 2 months, almost bought it, it was yhe crkt provoke one. You can check the stores website they have it, and even check which malls have it in stock, if your store doesnt have it they will ship it to the store for you to pick up, since its a small store they cycle through stuff
You son of a knife! Now I have too spend the money. Thank you for opening the knife over and over. For real, that is a selling point. ty. LOL, "That's me, Im stupid".....
Would it be cool or stupid if they made a line of these karambits with three additional rings so that they could double as knuckle dusters with or without the blade out?
I own the crkt...i think I got the last one they had cuz I went back for another one and they were out. 2 things I would like to see...call me crazy but I'd like a fully serated blade and some micro-gymping on the edge of the unlocking lever...its too sharp! Other than that...GREAT FUCKING KNIFE!
This encient unique knife came frm malaysia, indonesia, brunie many tousand years ago being used by young royalty princes warrior where they tide up krambit onto their hair to protect harmed frm bad male warrior those many thounsand years. I my self one of sri wijaya decenden warrior royalty blood but i an my family just lived normal life today now if counting decenden generation today i think more than milliom around south east asia
Caswell Karambits conditioning ya to be relaxed upon deployment. This pinch upon deployment, if the fingers are gripping. Fluid deployment denied if there is tension. Like a pro-boxer's hands while shadowboxing. The unnatural becomes natural through repetitive practice.
