Joe Cocker, pure Sheffield steel!!! That voice is pure Northern Grit. A working class man who made good and a talent worthy of far higher acclaim than he has been shown. The first of many world famous musical acts to emerge from the Steel City, a trail blazer for his home town. What credit to your home city.
Look at there passion. See how he almost looks pissed while he sings. That is heart. This new generation needs to take lessons. Amazing, thanks for posting this.
Who knows what tomorrow brings In a world, few hearts survive All I know, is the way I feel When it’s real, I keep it alive The road is long There are mountains in our way But we climb steps every day Love lift us up where we belong Where the eagles cry, on a mountain high Love lift us up where we belong Far from the world we know Up where the clear winds blow Some hang on to “used-to-be” Live their lives locking behind All we have is here and now All our lives, out there to find The road is long There are mountains in our way But we climb steps every day Love lift us up where we belong Where the eagles cry, on a mountain high Love lift us up where we belong Far from the world we know Up where the clear winds blow Time goes by No time to cry Life’s you and I, alive, baby Love lift us up where we belong Where the eagles cry, on a mountain high Love lift us up where we belong Far from the world we know Up where the clear winds blow Love lift us up where we belong Where the eagles cry, on a mountain high Love lift us up where we belong Far from the world we know Up where the clear winds blow
To me, this song, represents how much God loves us. We have so much trouble in life but when we trust in Christ he can make a soar above the clouds like an eagle because God sees things from his perspective. And he helps those who love him
I remember one night in the 70's my brother and I were watching Doug Kirschner's Rock Concert one Saturday night and for some unknown reason my mother decided to join us. Joe Cocker came on and she said "Rhon - there's something wrong with that man" - I said - Mama the only think that's going on with that man is that he is one of he greatest singers that ever lived." She had no comment!
This song touches me, and makes me cry!..Was one of my Moms favorite!..I will see her up in heaven one day!...These precious people of God, and their gift are from God! and priceless!..Love you brothers and sisters and of course DADDY does too!....O:-)
God lifts us up where we belong, Where the angels fly, above the mountains high... God Lifts us up where we belong, from the world below, to where the angels Go...
