What impresses me about this song is how his voice is such an orchestral force that it actually overpowers the instrumentation, which under other harmonic circumstances might be considered excessively emotional and overproduced. That was in reference to Joe Cocker's voice of course. As for your own admiral efforts at singing, I must say in all honesty that your voice is every bit as good as that of Kermit the Frog from Sesame Street.

When done properly, repetition can be very powerful. This is a wonderful example. When I was a kid, everytime this song came on the radio, I stopped whatever I was doing and just sat and listened.

Paul McCartney I will say his recordings from Wings over America live will say everything about his live voice. Every artist has recordings that sound off. Elton John etc. except George Michael who was blessed with The Voice .
