Joe Cool GTO!! Yep, that is the plan in this video, to see how cool this 1968 GTO really is! When I say cool, I am referring to the operating temperature of the 462 cubic inch powerplant under the hood! We all know it is already a cool hot rod, who doesn't like a rowdy muscle car!? In the last two videos, we upgraded the cooling system with a new Wizard radiator and a FlowKooler water pump. This setup retained the dual high CFM electric fans from the previous cooling system. They are controlled by the Holley Sniper EFI system that feeds fuel to this 600 horsepower beast!
This video is all about testing the new setup. Today is over 80 degrees and it is time to find out how well the new system works. The previous cooling system was okay, but was seeing temps over 200 degrees. While that isn't terrible, the goal is to drop the temps down to under 190 degrees. Testing this is quite simple really, go for a cruise, drive it normal, hammer it a few times, and some burnouts! Fast Eddie also comes along for the ride in his slick 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle SS!
How did it do? Did it cool down better? Were the burnouts good? Only one way to find out, watch the video, it is definitely "cool"!
