My gf and I saw him in concert in Corinth, MS a few months ago. He was putting on a show when he fell on stage and hurt his leg really bad. He could have easily walked off stage and noone would blame him but he continued his set. While he did not move around much cause he was clearly in pain, he was still amazing! RIP Joe Diffie we will keep you memory alive through your music and stories!

Went Turkey hunting in Velma Oklahoma with some friends a few years ago. They knew Joe's mom and she was still in the old home place. We were welcomed over to fish in their pond. The whole time all I could think about was Joe's hit song "Home". Although Joe didn't right the song it was no doubt such a hit due to the heartfelt passion that Joe put into it. I'll always believe the "Swimming hole and a fishing pole and the feel of a muddy road between my toes" took Joe back to the very place I stood in April of 2018. Although I never met the Legend, I'll always be thankful for the time I walked in his shoes and saw what he saw. And now when I hear that song I have two homes to reminisce about.

Your comment was as emotionally powerful as the song's subject matter. Personally, I had the chance to be a pall-bearer at my cousins funeral, 19 gun salute, TAPS, flag-folding , the whole nine yards. So, God Bless the memory of yourgreat grandfather and you

I'm very sorry for your loss. It's a very hard thing to handle when a loved one passes from this world. May God Bless and watch over you. My brother was also in the Navy at the time this song was out. I couldn't listen to the song at the time. I cried myself sick listening to it. My brother made it home. As it turned out, my brother loved this song!!

I met Joe one time in Nashville years ago. One of the nicest guys you could ever meet. He actually stopped and had a conversation with me. I wasn't starstuck at all. Just a displaced Okie talking to another fellow Okie. His music will live on forever but his character will always be his legacy. I hope they have guitars in heaven.......
