"So Help Me Girl" obviously would have hit #1 on the chart week of April 15, 1995 on the old Billboard top 100 National sample playlist chart. Reba McEntire's "The Heart Is A Lonely Hunter" blocked this song at #2 on Billboard on 4-15-1995, which would have hit #1 the following week on the old Billboard country single chart method. Joe Diffie was one of the greatest country music singers of all time. What a voice he had! RIP Joe.
My mamaw used to listen to Joe Diffie, used to say she would talk to him through the radio. When she got older, she had a little bit of dementia. But she was the sweetest. She passed 9-28-2017. I grew up listening to Joe, and always loved him, and still listen today. Rest in peace Joe, Rest In Peace Mamaw.
I let my daughters here this song and I told them that's the kind of man you need to find in a world full of trash he was a gem of a person. We will surely listen to all his music and miss him dearly.

This song came out when i was a teen and I liked it then. Now that I am 38 it has more meaning than it did back then. I was in a marriage for 15 years for all the wrong reasons. After I finally got out I met another woman. I can say now that I finally know what true love is. It took me a while to find it but it is the most powerful thing I have ever felt in my life. I can say I have never felt so loved by anyone else ever. I love you Ashley!!!

I didn't know he passed away until I began to read some comments, so I looked up his wikipedia page while this song was playing and realized he was the same age as my dad, whom I lost less than a year ago. Wow, it is real hard to type right now even though I'm a 41 year old grown man. Love your parents while you still have them because I miss my dad a lot right now.
I met Joe a couple of times years ago. What an incredible singer song writer. He was such a warm nice man also. Also he was an Oklahoma boy just like me. You will be missed brother. God Bless his family.
