As happy as I am for Hamlin to be able to play again... dude played like 20 snaps all seasson long. There is no way he should have received the award unlike those in years past who had horrific health issues and got back to a elite level. Other than Old man Joe the only other person I think should have won the award is Baker. Say what you will about him off the field but I'm happy for him making the most out of his shot in Tampa and I'm not even a fan of the dude, just a fan of football.
I''m so happy that Joe Flacco won this award. I was his fan when he was our MVP QB with the Ravens and I hope he's not done yet! He thanks his wife for holding down the fort. Once you're done in Cleveland, please come home to Baltimore and retire a Raven!
As a Browns fan, this was undoubtedly Baker's award! Nobody has gotten so much unnecessary hate. Dude was scrapped on the worst team in the league, played in countless offensive schemes, went through city after city and came back to bring his team to the Divisional round and shined in the pro bowl!
@@Berlography Either way I don't know if it would've worked. When I saw Baker play against the Chiefs week 1 of his last year with the Browns, I knew that was the guy I wanted. However it seems the Browns didn't. Add that to the fact that there was an unnecessary civil war among Cleveland fans regarding Baker, so many here wanted him to fail. I felt bad for him but I'm really happy it seems he's doing well!
@@Berlography That's exactly right. Browns fans were so used to blaming somebody because we forgot what it took to be successful, which is years of building. When fans didn't realize that, they picked Baker as public enemy number one.
Cleveland lives in a bubble. Joe Flacco was respected in the league. He has a super bowl. He retired and came back and Cleveland finally learned about him.
@@elbob17 Joe Flacco never retired. What bubble would that be? Cleveland finally learned about him? They were dominated by the guy for years when he played for the ravens. Do you have down syndrome or just choose to present yourself as a clueless moron that doesn't know WTF they are talking about?
For what? He played 5 or 6 games and threw 36 interceptions and shit the bed in the playoffs. Enough with Cleveland. Especially that DPOY Myles Smollett.
Yeah people were trying to make it seem like he and Alex Smith were in the same situation, but Smith started 5 games and went 4-1, he actually had an impact on the game lol. Hamlin was just on the field for pr reasons, that fake punt against the chiefs was wild
Well deserved. So glad they didn’t give the award to Damar Hamlin. He went through a horrible ordeal, but he only played a handful of snaps and made a few tackles all season. Giving Hamlin the award would’ve been charity.
I think Baker deserved it more. He was written off and he's played for FIVE offensive schemes in two years. Not to mention he had to follow in Brady's footsteps.
Both Stafford AND Baker would’ve been favorites to win any other year, but what Flacco achieved cannot be beaten out. It’s just the PERFECT story for comeback player of the year.
Purdy blew out his UCL (in his throwing arm) last year in the NFCC game. Then, he took his team (this year) all the way to the #1 seed in the NFC. How is that not in the conversation? Blows my mind. 🤯
Obviously, I'm only talking about the regular season. BP is in the Super Bowl and is obviously the better player, and I could care less about the accolades.
as a lifetime member of Bills Mafia thank you for not making it about Damar Hamlin 99% if us are over it they better start writing a new script for 2024-2025
I think Baker Mayfield was more deserving. He revitalized a career not just the year. He goes from having one foot out the NFL door to starting with a new team, then winning the division, going to and winning in the playoffs.
It’s the fact that he wasn’t even on a roster at all until late in the season, then comes in and leads a team to the playoffs. It’s not really that difficult to understand..
@@coryjohnson2486 I get that .I'm happy for Flacco. I'm just a pretty sour sarcastic Jets fan [I was trying to be funny but probably did not come across clearly.. oops ] jets are a curse to QBs [ Darnold, Smith, Flacco (and probably soon Wilson) have all played better after leaving the jets Org.]...
I mean seriously how do you give comeback player of the year for a guy that plays five games? That was the dumbest person to give the award to. Anybody else but him. This is stupid. Let's see what he can do over 17 games. What a looser. Play 6 games not a full season does not deserve the award.
@@budmcnew7763 you know what I'm a football fan and the guy who wanted only played six games or five games or whatever you play but he did not play in the entire season while the other players work their butts off to improve their game to become better players and came back from the season before and all their problems. So Joe flacco didn't deserve the award and it's a joke.
@@runrafarunthebestintheworld thanks for explaining I have dyslexia so it makes it harder to read it even tho it is simple my mind makes it difficult to read it
ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME DAMAR HAMLIN GOT ROBBED😭😭🥺🥺THEY THINK SOMEONE COMING BACK FROM JUST BEING OLD IS MORE IMPRESSIVE THAN COMING BACK FROM LITERALLY DIEING THIS VOTING SYSTEM IS RIGGED
Damar didnt play worth shit this season. It’d be one thing if he came back and actually played and played good, but he didn’t do either. Played 5 games with 2 tackles, but oh he almost died last year so even though he pretty much didn’t play this year he should just be handed the award. Joe Flacco lucky his ass got that award too. Comes off the couch half way through the season and gets to playoffs, just to lose in wildcard. Pathetic af. People biased af towards both joe and damar. Baker the real Comeback player. Played absolutely terrible last year and mediocre the year before. Was written off and was 4-7 in middle of season to come back and make it all the way to divisional only losing by 8 in Detroit as the underdog. Had Career high year in his first year with new team. If anyone got robbed it was Baker Mayfield because of biased mf like you who just want certain people to win
Damar Hamilton isn’t a good football player. He came back to play a punt return for the Cinderella story. Joe Flacco cam out of retirement and sent a struggling organization to the post season
So? Many people have almost died in their fields and come back to do their job. But he played like TWO games and barely in those. It's not a pity award. It's being able to comeback and PLAY at a HIGH LEVEL. Did Damar do that? But Baker did.
@@huchlvr Flacco came back from THE COUCH!!! That's not a "comeback". That's a LAST RESORT!!! Flacco took a free ride, on the backs of the Cleveland Browns defense!! You or I probably could have done the same, with that defense picking up the slack. 🤣😂🤣😂 Stafford and Tua were the only finalists that actually belonged on the list, at all, imo. One's lucky he can still walk, the other's lucky he remembers his name and they both took their teams to the playoffs. I understand and agree with your point on Hamlin, but I also understand WHY he was a finalist...politics aside!!
