@@Razah.bro had it coming talked bad about Frazier and called him an uncle Tom and a gorilla even tho Frazier helped him with his boxing license he'll forever be a legend but he'll forever deserve that defeat
@@C-bo2584 fraizer gave ali the hardest fights of his life. That trilogy is probably the best in terms of clashing styles boxing will ever get. To call Ali better is a crime. to call them near equals in a fact
Jack johnson , Would have beat him back in the 20s. Under those conditions, now air conditioning, no modern amenities. They used to fight 30 to 50 rounds. Back then, Ali got A8 count. Back then, there was no 8 count., The guy could kick in your a** As soon as you got up, Ali was great. But not the greatest. Last time I checked only rocky marciano was undefeated
@@joshuatree5620 I remember Frazier running trying to get away from Foreman and Foreman saying to Frazier corner get the bum out of here before I kill him
I’ve made this same comment a hundred times. But I’ll keep saying it. These men are forever Champions. Champions in the truest sense of the word. Someone who stands up in the face of overwhelming odds carrying the hopes and dreams of their entire community on their backs. They wanted to fight the scariest fighters on the planet just to show themselves, and us, that they would rise to any challenge. These men literally lost several years of their lives putting on these fights for us. It’s as tragic as it is beautiful. They put on these fights for us to be inspired by. Fights that showed us all that challenges, wins and losses are a beautiful and painful part of life. It’s really not a fair comparison to compare these absolute titans among men to the perfect record fighters of today. Frazier did this to The Greatest fighter of all time. Ali was the greatest fighter of all time because he dared face Frazier. Ali was well aware that he stepped in that ring against a man of steel with the heart of a lion. True heroes!
@@donaldlynch5861 Hello my friend! I like to hear peoples opinions on things and i'm all for friendly discussion. Who's the greatest in your book? To me it's all about perspective, i've got a whole bunch of fighters who i think are the greatest from different perspectives.
@@jackcarter6412Sugar Ray Robinson is not a heavyweight but the greatest P2P champion yes, Ali is the greatest HW with 2 comebacks and 3 times the HW champion after each comeback.
@@drdre4397 Your city is dedicated to a guy who doesn't even exist and you got Joe Frazier but he is black so your not gonna do shit love Bill he is hilarious
i disagree it seemed to have caught his shoulder slightly before hitting his head. it’s also very difficult to argue about specific punches being the greatest punch
I still think Jersey Joe Walcott's Walk in the Park knockout of Ezzard Charles was the best punch I've ever seen on film. The second was probably Tommy Hearn's right cross knock out of Roberto Duran. Both men looked like their neck snapped. Beautiful and terrifying.
NOBODY ON THE PLANET would have beaten Joe that night, he threw every ounce of what he had t get Ali flush on the chin. But props t Ali for getting up. REST IN PEACE CHAMPS! 👊👊
I ain’t trying to compare the two but doesn’t Tank does this same technique? I remember watching one of his sparring match, he hit someone a bit taller, and then it looked like he jumped hoped up and then him with a hook.
@@Tonycillian5 Liston was possibly fixed by bookies, Norton was overrated, and I watched Shavers beat the shit out of Ali with my own eyes, the whole fight, yet lose the decision. Don't get me wrong. He WAS a great fighter, but NOT the greatest by a longshot.
Joe frazier..most underrated but greatest FIGHTER not boxer of all time. The angels grabbed you by that beautiful left hand and put you rightly amongst their ranks of pure divine warriors brother ❤️
Fight of the Century. One of the few fights in boxing history that truly lived up to it's name. Even a prime Ali had problems with guys who had good form on their hook shots. Henry Cooper was the first man to drop Ali. He had a good hook. Joe was stylistically a nightmare for a fighter like Ali, particularly since he wasn't as fast as the 1966 version of himself.
Truly phenomenal poetry and motion to be able to deliver a bunch with such grace and rhythm and extreme power and on the other hand mohammad Ali being able to take that punch and get up immediately.
In my book, Joe Frazier and George Foreman were two of the left hook punchers ever along with Mike Tyson. If you do not think so, check them out for yourself and you be the judge. Good evening.
George had a good left hook but his right hand was his more potent weapon. There are several other Heavyweights that I'd rate above Foreman for their left hooks like Tua, Morrison, Joe Louis etc.
Great moment in boxing history. but, keep in mind, that if the Federal Govt did not retire Ali for 3 years before this, Ali may have retired undefeated.
Frazier had the most wicked left hook of all the heavyweight champions from the beginning of it's history to now Even heavyweight champions after him would have went down and possibly knocked out cold RIPARADISE CHAMPS
Well, if you actually apply the rules of scoring a prize fight you'll see that what happens after the final bell is irrelevant. It's moronic to say Frazier went to the hospital after the fight, so Ali won. Totally moronic statement.
@@Sr.MarstonAli would’ve lost to Frazier again if the ref didn’t stop the fight. Ali said he thought he was gonna die. Joe is blind in one eye and his good eye swelled up. If he could see in both eyes. He would’ve knocked out Ali in the 8th round. After the fight, Ali collapsed in the ring. That’s still a controversial decision to this day. He was ahead on the score cards and everyone knew it.
The greatness of that hook is not just in the form. It's also in the fact that Joe Frazier was so amazing at concealing it. It had no telegraphing along with perfect timing. Ali didn't see nor know of that knock down coming.
That was a night to remember, they both lost alot in the ring that night, although they both continued to fight I didn't see the same fighters going forward.
I watched this duel as it happened on a big 40 ft screen in New Orleans. If you notice, Joe ain't looking so sporty himself. He had taken a battering from the eventually defeated Ali. Ali threw a right but Joe had beaten him to the punch by a mili second. For Clay to get up so soon is still amazing.
Both fighers were battling injuries by that round. Frazier fought the entire 14th round blind. Ali had broken ribs and his face was a swollen mess. In my opinion, Ali got a lot of the brain damage that manifest in later life from the punches he took from Frazier.
What a powerful punch that was , you see where it came from ? Way down coming up to Ali's jaw with the most deadliest intention to take him out ...Tyson was able to box like Frazier ...they were shorter than most heavy weights, shorter arms like Chuvalo ...
Ali had 3 fight with Frazier you can say Frazier really beat him twice.. Ali had 3 fight with Norton you really can say Norton beat him twice .. Foreman beat both of those guy like little boys .. I always wonder why Ail fight Foreman once . Years later Foreman said some one put something in his water he was dizzy.. Just saying .
A lot of folk don't realise when Ali was banned from fighting due to his stance on the Vietnam war joe frazier was helping him get by by giving him cash and never got over how Ali spoke of him derogatory after being reinstated to the boxing world ! ( fact )
Besides Robinsons’ retreating left hook against Gene Fulmer this was the greatest left hook I have ever seen, Paterson vs Johannson was a beautiful hook as well…
Way to go champ way to take that loud mouth draft dodging punk you beat him in all 3 fights but for some reason everybody favorited him and cheated for him
Joe frazier Knock out Ali by his left hook but his left hook didn't work when he fought George foreman, foreman knock down joe thrice whereas George was knock out by Ali. Ali could not knock out Frazier. The greatest of all time is George Foreman, he fought Ali , Frazier etc of his time ,he also came back from retirement n fought younger boxers Evander holyfield , he Moorer etc . He became Champion again after coming back. Greatest of all time is George Foreman.
Ali, like Pacquiao was not immune to KD punches. What's so massively historic about this? Save for people who hated Ali for being black and speaking his mind?
If you don't think this is iconic then you're not a boxing fan. This is arguably the greatest Heavyweight fight in history and Frazier knocking Ali down in the 15th and final round is arguably the most famous knockdown in boxing history. Stop hating for absolutely no reason whatsoever.
This is one brutal shot, the champ did not see coming. Ali was toying around with smoking joe, with all the respect to joe. Ali knew that joe was a cyborg and was still joking.
Ali already past his prime years when he fought Frazier, Foreman, Norton, Shavers, etc. His cat reflex and footwork became slower after that 4 years suspension.
@@hanzagod both were equally as fast. No clue why people think Ali has the speed advantage… Mike’s speed on top of his power is something otherworldly. How he never killed anybody in the ring is beyond me. Props to Everlast
@@TheMinnesnowtanAli was indeed faster however Mike just had similar striking speed However Mike couldn't keep that for 15 rounds Ali fought against George foreman and took a beating so bad George foreman got tired and Ali broke his spirit by saying "that all you got George" Every normal punch of George foreman feels the same no matter how sloppy it is Mike's punches get worse each time he throws it
