Started listening to this first while was doing other work on my laptop, but felt like I've missed facial expressions during the story telling. After I got home finished watching the rest with video. It really makes a difference to have both options! Thank you
First of all, this is one of my favorite episodes to this day, it might even be my favorite one. I anticipate part 2 so much. I listened to the interview on a lazy sunday and 3 hours went by so quickly and I just finished watching the video. It just makes me want to work at airbnb. I have got to say, after Kevin didn't continue with the foundation series I was so sad. instead of watching a series I would rather watch an interview. That's why I am so glad Tim that you try to bring it back. Sure, it might not make you a lot of money, but I would love to have to for every podcast episode a audio and video option. I mean London Real does the same thing and they get better every time. The quality is amazing.
super cool to have an opportunity to get some in-depth insights from some people that normally are a bit camera-shy! i always wanted to learn more about the Air B'n'B founders, I even just used their 2009 pitch deck as blue print for the pitch deck of my company 😁 anyway, your content is great as always, and it's great to have video as well now! makes me wanna step up my own content 😉
This was a great, interesting way to see the story, glad the video was done for this. Joe is a very engaging storyteller the number of views seems a little low for such solid material. More people need to see this. Hope that part II whenever it occurs also is done as video interview.
YES, Tim. Love the video. Nice informal setting. As always love your interview and style. Joe Gebbia is a fabulous storyteller. Increases my resolve to be a great storyteller. Thank you for all you do, Tim
I loved this interview! Im currently working on our School Hoodies for this yeahrs gratuading class. And since I want to have a nice hoodie not just one with a print on the front but with embroidered lettersand so on.. I have to let them be manufactured. Turns out nobody wants to manufacture just 100 Hoodies.(We are a small Gymnasium from Hamurg, Germany) So Im currently searching for other options/opportunities. Its great to see that even the Founder of AirBnB went thru these small problems. I think a lot of Entrepreneurs tell you that school is bad and if you want to be an Entrepreneur you schould quit and start something. Im not a fan of the tipcal classes as well but you have so many opportunities to do 'Entrepreneurial' thinks in school. A lot of them are mansioned by Joe in this Interview. I mean what about the school Newspaper? You could call every famous and succesfull person you know and try to get an Interview for your Newspaper. I bet you would get 2-4 who would say yes. Or you could marked it and try to get as many people as possible to read it. Or you could start a sportsteam (like Joe) or a work group. The possibilities are endless.
I love the simplicity of the interview set up - if the content delivers, no need for fancy pancy this and that! Tim - I'm trying to apply all the condensed wisdom I've gathered from you to see I I can make a living on My RU-vid Channel ( and whatever sidesteps I can derive from that ). So pumped about starting to take this really serious after 2 years of learning without much of quantifiable results. Thanks for being my virtual mentor, Alex
Great intimate format, but I find the background a little distracting. I’d prefer a more minimalist setting (similar to Gabor’s). Either way, more please!
Hi Tim. Great to see the video and as others have commented the use of both hand held and lapel mics looks weird. I see you have 3 cameras. I'm assuming all switching is in post ? Otherwise you'd need an operator for every interview which might not be possible. To me it looks like you could be little closer together, that distance makes it look more 'formal' than a real chat would be
Thanks for posting the video to this. I've only listened to interviews of Joe Gebbia before so this was a brand new way to hear the Airbnb story. I've learned a lot for my own two-sided marketplace that I run: DonorSee. Thanks again and take care. :-)
Hi Joe, airbnb is devastating all the cities of the world, forcing thousands of people to sleep on the streets, due the rents increases caused by Airbnb.
Bored of this show and the endless stream of bloated egos. Hate leaving bad comments but just wanted to say goodbye. Loved the TFS for years but it feels like the world is changing and this material really isn't. Hope Tim makes some adjustments. Is anyone interested in hearing the views of the elite or glorified lottery winners anymore? Need something else!
So true. Timmy jumped the shark a while ago. Needs to get back to basics and away from the Silicon Sycophant love fest. We learned nothing in 2 hours other than these two pals really think a lot of each other.
THE ONLY interview done by Tim that I TRULY disliked. If it were my first, I might not have listened to any others. Joe "ran" with the show. There was NO interview. A talented guy just took charge of the Tim Ferriss Podcast and turned it into the "Joe Gebbia show".....EEEKS
I'm absolutely loving these video format episodes - they feel so much more intimate. I'm hoping you will stick to this! Regarding this episode, one of my absolute favorite ones you've done. Joe is such an amazing storyteller. Can't wait for part two! Keep up the great work!
Such a good episode! Really hope they do a part 2. My only comment is right at the end when he says no one just goes and runs a marathon... Ye most people don't... Go speak to Goggins 👀😂
