I was lucky enough to attend Joe Hisaishi's live symphonic concert in July 2023 held at Wolf Trap in Vienna, Virginia. It was an incredible, immersive experience. Joe's passion was palpable as he performed some of his most popular compositions for Hayao Mayazaki's films, and the production really captured the spirit of Ghibli. It was also very cool to see Joe perform alongside his daughter, Mai Fujisawa. I wanted to share some of the highlights from my Ghibli favorites, including Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, Howl's moving castle, and my neighbor Totoro.
