True story: I'm currently staying in the Philippines and I was down at a public park with a guitar and I started talking to some Filipino punk rock kids and they asked me where I'm from. I said "Philadelphia", and I just got a lot of blank stares. "You know, the Liberty Bell? The Declaration of Independence? Rocky? Hoagies? The Eagles?" Nothing. Nada. Finally, one of them piped up and said, "Philadelphia! That's where the DEAD MILKMEN are from!!!" Instant respect and connection from that point onward...
Just played the original for my 16 year old daughter. I wondered if they still played, then good ol RU-vid had this pop up immediately after. Great to see, and a classic tune for all times
It's almost midnight and I'm not sure what caused me to watch Punk Rock Girl but I'm sure glad I did as the song is still catchy after all these years... ah the good ol days.
Man, I wish they'd reissue Beelzabubba on vinyl. I want a copy so bad, but it's $100 for these old copies that're chewed up....or sealed copies that're bent up like a bowl. :(
So back in high school I was playing in this band and some guy who thought his band was superior attempted to insult me by saying, "This guy looks like Joe Jack Talcum." I was not offended at all... but I did tell him in response that he looked like a case of pre-diabetes.
