Being a winner is not the same as winning. Winners surprise us even when we know it’s coming. Joe is a winner. Marino, Moon, Elway and Kelly are winners.
Joe Montana played in a time when the QB wasn't coddled and protected and treated like a queen like they are today - nowadays you just look at a QB wrong you get a penalty. Why do you think Tom Brady's played 20 years? If Joe played today he'd have at least 16 Superbowls - the true GOAT
He was a legend . Came from back East , wasn’t really crazy about local fans . Quite aloaf , wouldn’t sign autographs for kids , didn’t want be bothered . Steve Young was more outgoing .
My college QB backed up Joe in SF , as third stringer and 8 yr vet , I asked him if coach’s were still coaching him “ not really , just tell me do it like Joe “ Rice was a rookie , Joe and backup were hurt , my man started and best Green Bay Packers
@@rj-vj8gr that is nostalgia, not objectivity talking. Brady is virtually unanimously considered the GOAT by every sports writer worth his weight in salt.
Success as a QB in the NFL (besides having a good team around you) is based on how accurate you can throw the ball under great pressure. Any NFL QB (except trubisky) can throw a ball through a tire 30 yards away. But can you put it thru the tire on the run with Aaron Donald or Khalil Mack bull rushing you, on 4th and goal down 6 points with the game on the line. Montana could. So could Mahommes, Brady, Marino, and a handful of others.
The real GOAT IMO...Joe won 4 Super Bowls in only 12 full seasons, and one of those was a strike shortened season. Meanwhile Brady is in his 19th full season and is 6-3 while playing in the easiest division in Football all that time. He could EASILY be 4-5... no thanks to Seattle throwing the ball and ATL not running it up 25 in 3rd quarter of two SB's. If he was 4-5 I wonder if people would look at him differently.
You can play the should’ve could’ve game all day long. They probably won a couple they shouldn’t have and lost a couple they should’ve won. They could be 0-9 or 9-0. The reality is they’re 6-3. I think Brady’s the goat, you think it’s Montana. To each his own
dont know what the division has to do with it(for the record the pats record under brady was virtually the same in division/out of division)......brady is 33-11 in playoff games, joe was 16-7...
Im with @Steven , coulda , woulda doesn't count. The Scoreboard says its Brady and its not close. * Id much rather hang out with Joe Cool, Brady is not my guy at all. Facts are facts. 🐐
Brady 10 super bowls and counting. Still not enough to surpass Joseph Edward St-Jean Montana III. Saw this man versus Bengals in Jan 89 and Denver Jan 1990. Untouchable
Dan Patrick thinking to himself *I really have no other questions to ask* Dan Patrick: "How many times did you go the line of scrimmage and know it was going to be a touchdown?"
He’s arguably the greatest, but he’s had quit a few bad games, don’t forget he got benched in a playoff game vs the vikings , because he was playing BAD!!! Bill Welsh benched him for Steve young, look it up, a lot of people forget about that!! The longer the time goes away the more perfect the person career gets!!!!
If you rank quarterbacks of the last 50 years you come up with Montana, Brady, etc but if you compile a list of top 10 greatest qbs ever, any list without Johnny Unitas and Otto Graham on it is flawed.
