Turned out when Joe was suspended, he went to the Bryant home and told Mrs. Bryant what happened. They both had a good cry, and she arranged for Namath to stay in a basement apartment at their home for awhile. The coach either didn't know, or perhaps pretended not to know - I'm not sure.

Today many parents love their children but are 'enablers' In life, there is no easy way out. Also today there are too many rules, most unenforced.
