A cool thing about Spotify is that it leads me to music like this, based on my taste in music. I've just discovered this song and can't stop listening to it. Makes me think of Rotary Connection in a way.........
Reminded me of David Axelrod a bit when I first heard it. There are some good other songs on this album i have original vinyl but didnt know it was on spotify
There is a hip hop song that samples the very beginning up until about 0:27. It is bugging the hell out of me. It is not on whosampled or any of that. The part "some day they'll be a time for us" was used on the outro. If anyone can help me I'd be amazed and impressed and thankful.
Is it for real Joe Pass, the famous jazz guitar player, or is it the same name? I mean.. I quite like the piece, but it seems that Joe Pass played different style.
Super late answer but it is indeed, this is pre-Pablo Joe Pass. On the Guitar Interludes album, the A-side is all original Joe Pass material and side-B was more jazz-funk style, written by Irwin Rosman, and as far as I can tell this is the only release he did songwriting for. Which is a damn shame, because it's one of my favorite albums. Obviously helped and really delivered by Joe Pass's playing, but the style of rhythm section is so good in tandem with Pass
At last, been searchin after this song intensly for at least 10 years , i knew it was a Joe but i somehow thought to remembrer it was on record with a man walking on train tracks, it seems i’ve been searching for many Hours thru every LP cover on the internet available involving trains for absolutely nothing.
Nice song, you all realise that this is not the original? It's an old piece in 3/4 time signature with a more dramatic feel. Don't know the composer though.
