Charlie sounds awesome. Met these 2 in 1982. Playing a duel show with Kim Simmonds down in Fort Pierce, Florida. Long time ago. Joe was feeling very good, I mean very good. Met them after sound check. Great times. Outstanding album
I mean, if you can't have Steven Tyler singing for you every night....Charles Farren makes an excellent second pick! I miss Fahrenheit! I'm so glad Aerosmith got back together. I just couldn't imagine never hearing those songs after they got back together. Nice to see a little reunion. Wish I had been there. I would have if I had known about it!
If Columbia had only put a little bit more promotion behind this album (I've Got The Rock'n Rolls Again) it really could have taken off. East coast west coast, listen to the rock and especially this song. It's one of my favorites. Yes Joe Perry was still fucked up a bit but down to the core, he was still writing good music and playing amazing riffs. The same can not be said for "Once a rocker". Some of the rawness was gone and too many band member replacements. Joe's 1st album and especially this one were an all out assault on rock and roll. they were brilliant compositions.
Big Big Charlie Farren fan. My band opened a few times for him and his band Balloon in 1978 at The Club in Cambridge MA. Like you said if the Record company and management would have given this album and this version of the Project more support there’s no telling how far they could have gone. It still one of my favorite albums of all-time .I also believe not only East Coast West Coast and I’ve Got The Rock N’ Rolls Again but also Soldier Of Fortune and South Station Blues could have been Radio hits.@@markbetts7345
Once a Rocker always a Rocker is a good album, more polished and studio sounding but with Great songs, King of the Kings, Black Velvet pants Rock, sounds like Aerosmith.
@@jaytoepfert6776 I thought Joes first album (let the music do the talking) was as close to Aerosmith as any of them. Jack Douglas produced it. The material was left over from Night in the ruts Joe had written. That album is a gem as well.
@@jaytoepfert6776 But you do have a point. those 2 songs were classic Aerosmith riffs. Especially king of kings. I just had a hard time getting passed Mac bell's voice. Ralph Moron too honestly. Once a rocker was recorded 2 towns away from me in Maynard Mass. Blue Jay studios i believe it was called back then. The same studio Tom Scholz laid down the tracks on piano for "A man I'll never be".

Joe Perry is (and I can't lie) The best with a guitar 🎸. Everytime I listen to him, I'm blown away by his ability to play any cord & Joe Perry sounds better than he did his previous live recording. He's AMAZING 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
