I heard this song when I was a Puerto Rican 🇵🇷 kid in Brooklyn looking for my roots in 1980s. I was 14 first time visiting Puerto Rico. I remember being so touched even as a teen and not fully understanding the song.

Fue uno de los músicos innovador que se atrevió a incluir es su banda pitos cuando los sexteto adolecian de ellos. La rivalidad musical entre Joe Cuba y Joe Quijano, elevo el estatu de la salsa que ya comenzaba a sonar fuerte. Uno con metales y el otro sin metales. Inmortales los dos a mi juicio.

I remember this tune, on the night before I left for overseas to VN I went to a dance at the Embassy Ballroom in the Bronx, NY and one of the last dances I had that night was when they sang this song and Nosotros, WOW thanks for the memories!!!!

Recuerdo cuando Joe Quijano y su orquesta amenizaron la fiesta de Easter en el Club Social Liceo Cubano de Bridgeport, Connecticut. No cabia una persona mas en el club. Esta y otras interpretaciones de Joe Quijano en esa noche lo hicieron inmortal para nuestra juventud de aquellos tiempos. Rest in peace Joe. Dios bendiga tu memoria.
