Joe Robinet on Where He Learned Bushcraft Skills, Remote Canoe Trips, & More on Baird Country Ep.# 6
Listen to the audio version of my podcast on Spotify, Apple and wherever you get your podcasts. Here's the link to all the episodes of Baird Country on Spotify: open.spotify.com/show/31ornrP...
Hey folks, welcome back to another episode of Baird Country! Today, I'm stoked to have the legendary Joe Robinet on the show, the guy behind those incredible outdoor adventures on RU-vid. We're diving deep into Joe's journey - how he went from city life to mastering bushcraft and survival in the great outdoors.
We get real in this episode, talking about Joe's start in bushcraft, where he learned the ropes, and some crazy stories from his remote backcountry trips. There's this one time he got sick out there, and he had to use his skills to make it back on his own - trust me, you don't want to miss that tale!
But it's not all epic landscapes and survival hacks; Joe opens up about the challenges of being a RU-vidr in the outdoor scene. Turns out, it's tougher than it looks. He shares some hard-earned advice for those of you itching to get outdoors more and maybe start your own content creation journey. From keeping it real to the sacrifices that come with the territory, Joe drops some serious wisdom for anyone craving the wild and wanting to share it with the world.

Mannn… I grew up in NYC. About 3 years ago I started watching alone and bushcraft stuff on RU-vid. Got into camping from just being a weekend fishermen. I know some might think it’s lame but I’ve literally learned all I know from guys like these dudes. Didn’t have a dad to teach me. Super grateful for all the work they’ve done and knowledge they’ve shared over the years. So much garbage on the internet and division even in this area. Respect anyone who inspires people to get out in creation with the Creator! God bless these guys. Two legends for sure 🔥

I've found out about Joe Rabinet from watching Shawn James and also first saw you Jim (and Ted) from watching Mr. James. I'm 75 and it's totally fascinating plus relaxing - plus getting in touch with what life is all about from all the insanity of the world. My father would have loved your RU-vid videos as he loved hunting and the outdoors. This is a great interview!

Joe's Wild in Wabakimi episode with Blue Walleye, and the beautiful cliffs. ...one of his best moments was when he backed into a big crevice, and just sat there in peace. Such a great moment.... Also love his canoe/fishing trips with Doug to a little back road lake, camping on an island for a night or two. Love those little simple canoe camps.

Another great interview! I already follow Joe. I'm so sorry it causes problems for his family. Being torn like that is exhausting and can take the fun out of anything. I love the advice about the starting pistol! It never occurred to me to use safe loud noises to help my old dog overcome his fear of all things loud. I rescued him at age 9ish, so I thought it was just how it was going to be. It really could disrupt our plans if a thunderstorm came in or people started target practice where he could hear it...Great insight. Thank you! Good to know that commenting on Joe's channel is one sided! I hate typing!
