Yeah bc some the stories in the Bible only exist in fictional books so like how are we supposed to take these stories real regardless of how old they are and who supposedly wrote them. If someone came up to you with a piece of paper they said was thousands of years old and told a story of a guy fighting a dragon youd be skeptical even if tht writing included some kind of geographical facts in it

My favorite is when Joe talks about how advanced everything was in ancient times and how technologically advanced they were, but apparently when it comes to this, people were too dumb to have eye witness accounts. By his reasoning, no one should ever be convicted of a crime by eye witness accounts and we should do away with line ups. Been having a hard time listening to his podcasts dealing with anything spiritual. The paulsuka podcast was horrendous. Joe says the shroud of tohra was only 500 years old. The women debunks it and gives like 5 expert examples and then Joe says "allegedly." I think people need to stop looking at this guy for the litmus test of a free and open thinker, or someone of intellect. Hes incredibly biased, and has a clear hatred for anything religious.

You’re missing the point. The Bible consists of nothing but hearsay upon hearsay evidence, which in a court of law is no evidence at all. That taken with all the inconsistencies and many contradictions in the Bible it carries no credibility whatsoever. To add to that, the Catholic Church went to every extreme, destroying historical evidence to the contrary, to include the Great Library of Alexandria, not to mention murdering and torturing the “heretical” masses in their wake. Christianity only rose when it became a means of control by the emperors of Europe, who influenced the numerous Bible translations we have today. They decided what was to be put in the Bible’s and what was to be left out. With all the manipulation of history the history of Jesus is yet unseen and widely debunked.

Jesus did not have a surname. He was Jesus son of father’s name (Joseph, presumably) from Nazareth (and therefore Jesus of Nazareth). Romans had family names. Jews typically did NOT have family names, and the only thing a Jew of that time might have which was SIMILAR to a surname would be a Jew who was of the tribe of Levi, in which case that Jew was EITHER a priest, OR he was a Levite, and he would be termed Name son of Father’s Name the Priest, or Name, son of Father’s name, the Levite (like this: Ya’acov ben Yitzchak Ha-Cohen, or Yitzchak ben Ya’acov Ha-Levy). Until about three or four hundred years ago in Europe (and a few centuries earlier in other parts of the world) Jews did not HAVE surnames. Jews STILL do not use ‘surnames’ when we use our ‘religious names’. Jewish religious names (Hebrew names) used in the synagogue are STILL ‘name son of father’s name’ or perhaps ‘name son/daughter of fathers name and mother’s name’. King David was ‘David son of Jesse’. His son Solomon was ‘Shlomo ben David’. Jesus would have been ‘Jesus son of Joseph and Mary’ (Yeshu ben Yosef v’ Maryam). He did not HAVE a surname, and that was not unusual. NOBODY had a surname in ancient Judea.
