When I smoked weed in Amsterdam where I knew I wouldn't get arrested and people wouldn't give me a weird look for looking high all of a sudden the paranoia was gone. The plant doesn't make me paranoid, the fact that I could get caught does.
Luke Lakatos he isn’t kidding about it. I don’t think psychosis is going to be that poplar but people are getting sick from using it too much. Compared to when many of our parents use to smoke they used about 80% less thc than we do now. Granted they did not do it as much as we do now.
I started smoking pot when I was 15. I was always mad, anxious, depressed, and being jammed with adhd meds. that’s what my generation got. Eventually I dropped the adhd meds they were jamming down my throat with everything else, and all I do now is smoke weed. I don’t drink any alcohol I don’t take any ibuprofen or shit like that when I’m sore. I’m 28 now and am a CNC programmer and shop lead for a very respectable machine shop. I’m also a father and outdoors enthusiast. Smoking weed has been a great calming factor in my life.
Mentally ill people is way to broad. Shrooms might help with anxiety disorders or depression, but might enhance the frequency or even initiation of psychoses/ schizophrenia.
@@codyminecrack248 That's simply wrong. People with a family history of schizophrenia, psychosis, or bipolar disorder should absolutely stay away from psychedelics or recreational drugs of any kind, including cannabis. Psychedelic therapy has had positive results for certain specific disorders, like substance abuse and PTSD, no doubt. But to generalize these experiences to all mental illnesses is dangerous. It's becoming clear that people with the most propensity to develop schizophrenia in their lifetime (men under roughly 25 years old, especially those with a family history of schizophrenia) should stay as far away from psychedelics and cannabis as possible.
@@Justin-rm6su ya you dont want people that are in their heads to be more in their heads. Especially with the weird thoughts they already have flowing through there. for me, weed actually does have a very different effect. I get very paranoid and panicky, and can't relax at all. So i just choose not to use it! it should still be legal though -- it effects different people differently, but ive never seen or heard of anyone getting violent because of it
I'm Dutch, weed is "legal" here for all my life and I'm a regular smoker. Never get paranoid. Last November I went to Germany for a weekend off, where weed is illegal. I had some weed on me tho. The moment the train crossed the border, I got paranoid. I could even smell the weed from my bag, which I didn't notice before we crossed. Very weird experience.
Every day life here in Sweden. Can't go outside and chill because I'll be heavily fined and get a note in my records which makes employment much, much harder when looking for new jobs. Visited Amsterdam a few days in 2013 and it was such a different experience, much more enjoyable and relaxing. I could truly appreciate the flowers in its fullest and I miss that sense of complete mindfulness during the intoxication. I don't drink and that doesn't alleviate any of my physical pains from my fibromyalgia, on the contrary. But I wish I could get it prescribed here so I was allowed to walk around in public with a burning flower in hand and not get those expensive bs pills or oils. Let me be free, let me use natural products to alleviate some of the pains and health problems I have, without penalizing or terrorising me for it. It's such a crazy world we live in...

Getting high to forget about your problems is like stepping on a nail, and leaving it in then smoking just to forget its there, evergtime you step on the nail you smoke to forget you have to take the nail out aka fix the root of the problem
My fridge used to be white. But since this quarantine started it's turned a shade of purplish blue, now the door squeaks and it's sticky. I hope it's ok, Idk what I would do without it.
How does that even happen unless they are mixing the weed with harder drugs? Most people just seek more dopamine through eating and sex and feel tired. How does someone have the functionality to murder someone while using weed? I think it should be a prescription only and no smoking, only edibles that are so strong people who need it just take a nap. If it's too strong, nobody can stand up, let alone drive or assault another person. It's not good for anyone's mentality to constantly carry chronic pain. I can see where that is needed. But recreational use data shows people of all demographic and age are at risk to predators. Look at Dahmer and Gacy. They used weed to lure young men back to their car or place. It's easy to find yourself in a dangerous situation and not have the reflex to defend yourself or have a complete lack of awareness.
I recently started thinking "if the government is now OKing weed, growing it, and selling it to us, then it's probably not the greatest for the mind". I've experienced being around someone diagnosed with meth induced psychosis, I have never seen anyone trip on weed unless it had space/incense or extasy in it

I can't believe no one has called you out on this for over a year! Anyway, MDMA is a synthetic drug that usually comes in pill or powder form. When exposed to high temperatures, like those from smoking, it can decompose before entering the bloodstream. The intense heat required for combustion can break MDMA down into less active or inactive compounds.
You clearly didn't pay attention or avoided to. Just because a study is published doesn't mean it's accurate too. He highlighted that one study was based on inaccurate data. And if you have any commons sense you would see his point. Smoking pot does not have anything to do with defending your personal space or doing your job as a cop
To be fair, marijuana does have significant side-effects. In my experience, it causes involuntary laughter, munchies, and causes average music to sound amazing. EDIT: I've quit weed because I realized it just blurs my mind and overall makes me lazier. Much sharper and more productive without its side residual effects. So yeah, it's not for everyone.
@@yp.2514 I know exactly what you mean, shit is quite scary :/ As I was experiencing it I was literally saying in my head "calm down, relax it'll all be over soon", then another part of me was saying "wow you're really good at keeping yourself calm" lmao
Yep, I have to be careful about anything I enjoy too much. I'll most likely obsess and take it to an extreme. I've seen weed work wonders for other people though, definitely not the case for freak addicts like me lol.
Benzos, especially alprazolam. Since it's short half life, making you redose more often. Withdrawals can last months, plus it can kill you if you stop abruptly. I once had a social worker who told me weed kills brain cells and has killed people... while she puffs on her cigarette... here in the UK, weed is considered a class B drug, which includes other drugs like - barbiturates, dihydrocodeine, amphetamine etc. These substances affects everybody in a different way, that's why you start slow with your dosing to see how your body reacts to it. Especially when i first smoked i was completely out if it, but after smoking everyday tolerance had kicked in, so it no longer made me feel that way. If a doctor had prescribed medication with a dose to high, it could cash your system. Start slow and taper off it slowily. much of anything is bad for you. Apologies if anything I've said is incorrect. Be reasonable and don't over do it. If they fucking plant helps you relax after a hard working day. So be it. Just like people enjoy a glass of wine..
My experience with pot has only been that it calms me and allows me to focus, although my best friend as a kid had schizophrenia and whenever he would smoke, he would say things that were blatantly out of touch with reality, like thinking it would be cool to do bad things to women, or hurt his little brother, it was simply a negative thing for him, it all comes down to the way YOUR body reacts to it
But people love to generalize. “Weak minded people shouldn’t smoke because they can’t handle it. People literally pay themselves on the back comparing themselves to the schizophrenics who can’t handle weed. Like they’re better because they like weed, and some people don’t. It’s sad. If they dealt with 10% of what some people go through mentally they would realize how bad it actually is.
Mr Nobody I’ve loved weed all my life and I don’t want it legal. There are certain people who shouldn’t smoke and if you can’t get weed in illegal states (I live in Kansas) than you probably aren’t accustomed to smoking. I’m down for it being decriminalized just no head shops cuz certain people that want to smoke shouldn’t cuz they make us look bad by not being able to act normal on weed
First couple years of smoking it was nothing but bliss. All day every day, couldn't get enough. But as the years went on, something switched. Might've been the result of getting older, things in life having higher stakes, etc., but I started battling paranoia nearly every time. Handful of episodes I could even describe as psychosis. There's a lot of factors at play with having a good vs bad time, but when I decided to quit for good, I'd had a great day the whole day, nothing but good vibes, so I decided to capitalize on it with an end of day smoke. Wouldn't you know, it turned my great day into a panic attack. It was then I said this shit just aint worth it.
All I know is when I smoke i actually think about my actions way more and I’m calmer and choose the most laid back and safe option in any situation. Sharp on point always

I wish this were true. Psychiatric meds certainly lowered my inhibitions. I’d have hallucinations & problems with perception of reality, but I wasn’t having any thoughts or considerations in harming people until I was on psych meds. They took away the lowest lows, but also took away all highs-All rewards for doing good, all happiness, pleasure. Made everything meaningless & really just made me not care. Life didn’t feel worth living on psych meds. People not on them can’t understand.
I just abruptly stop taking them. I was sleeping from 12 to 18 hours a day. And obviously I have a life to live. So I stopped taking them, it’s been 3 now and I feel happier and more motivated to do stuff. Still though am having very unordinary and violent thoughts, not that I would EVER act on them, there’s still a few hints of psychosis still in me. It’s hard to differentiate what causes what. That’s the reason I’ve been so troubled in finding who I am as a person since every major episode I have completely changed who I am.
I was on benzodiazepines and antipsychotics for 6 yrs and you can't go off cold turkey, you have to taper off and cut the dose every 2-3wks before you stop.
Yeah I can understand getting stressed talking to pot advocates. I made the mistake of posting a very controlled study on the genesis of psychosis and cannibis one time under a Cheech and Chong FB page. Had two guys add me to messenger so they could troll me. Of course both had pics of them stoned out of their heads. For a drug that isnt addictive people sure do have an almost faithlike trust that it isnt harmful at all.
No dude you're ignorant. Having been in psyche ward twice and met many people like myself, smoking cannabis alone (far more then other substances)induces full psychosis in us, NOT paranoia, like talking to the paint in the wall type disconnect from reality. No I'm not schizophrenic or shizo effective, I'm just a totally sane fairly intelligent dude who fine all the time, but if I smoke I go stark raving mad. And clearly from this video and your comment it's something that needs more attention brought to it. I'm not anti-herb by the way, but it's a serious possibly life destroying danger for people like myself, and how does 1 know you're not a part of my demographic until you start puffing
Cannabis makes me extremely afraid and I feel extremely weird after smoking/get intrusive thoughts. I used to smoke everyday for 15 years with no problems until one day I began getting symptoms of schizophrenia/schizoaffective
I have to say I had a lot of childhood traumas and I was always diagnosed as a high risk child for psychosis. My uncle and my dad both have a big psychosis history, almost my whole family has a history of substance misuse also. I don’t drink alcohol, I don’t smoke tobacco, but I have been smoking weed for over 10 years now ( since I was 12 ) . I was a menace to society since a child but my smoking habits have really calmed me down. I never had a psychosis myself. When I travel, it happens that I just don’t touch any weed for like 10 days and it doesn’t make me withdraw at all.. Doesn’t bother me.. it’s interesting. I just seem to have stronger anxiety than what I normally have when I do smoke. I will admit that doing heavy edibles is the worst thing you can do if you are not in the right state of mind for it, or on the right place. They make you extremely paranoid and if you have anxiety it’s just a disaster 🤣 Since a child I saw so much pain and stress from hard drugs and alcohol, but I always looked at weed as if it was a medicine.
I have a similar past, lots of abuse as a child and i am a daily user. I’ve found the same thing with travel that I’ll not have any weed but I’ll still be happy and comfortable. There’s a lot of research coming out that says addiction has a lot to do with your environment, I’m wondering if a change of environment might help my underlying issues as well as my dependence on cannabis

nichelle kmalvous rewatch the podcast. He stresses multiple times that his argument isnt that marijuana causes violent crime. The argument is that there currently isnt enough research to say that it does not or that it reduces the crime rate. His thought is that prolonged or heavy marijuana use, can create psychosis in mentally ill or unstable individuals which may result in violent crime. Its not a blanket statement that weed causes violence.
I have a loved one who went through drug induced Psychosis - she’s is absolutely not the same. If you haven’t seen it happen you won’t believe it, I was one who used to think weed was harmless
Same , until you see a loved one or your child go through this you wldnt believe it but it’s very clear when your in it that it’s psychosis from weed and or drugs. The paranoia is so extreme an delusions, they aren’t themselves it’s scary.
In my opinion, all psychedelics have a chance to give you psychosis and paranoia. That being send, it all depends on if the person already had these to begin with. And being aware in a existencial way is always risk at being mentally unwell. Life sucks. But its still life. Taking the filter off can drive people nuts.
Agreed, as someone that fell to drug abusing dabs, alcohol and psychedelics iv recently been feeling like iv been falling into psychosis. Even though I have been clean from all of it for a month now the feeling of being murdered and overall paranoia has really been putting an effect and as somone who came from a sober mindset 2 years ago and being as aware as I am to see what is happening I can’t help but continue to believe these delusions and out of the ordinary ideas that I think are completely true no matter how much I try to think otherwise. Imo I feel as tho from my experiences psychedelics was the main cause followed by the abusing dabs multiple times everyday didn’t help the fact of what’s currently going on. I can’t give a say on weed just because as soon as I quit everything a month ago it wasn’t the thing that tipped me over in feeling like the way I do it was dabs but I will say I don’t think it was what caused it originally even tho I feel like that was a factor in it. But yes it will drive you nuts if you can’t put mind over matter I can’t tell you how many times iv thought and currently think my food was poisoned, thought I was getting set up, thought people where out to get me and even looking out my window every 30 mins bc i think I heard somone pulled into my driveway to get me so far to the point I live in fear not knowing if tonight’s gonna be my last to where I keep a knife on me 24/7 for my safety of myself bc I’m so worried I’m gonna get got. But considering I’m 19 iv only started feeling this way sence the beginning of March and shi don’t feel real sometimes tbh but life goes on and there isn’t too much you can do other than therapy or meds but I’m trying to work on it by overcoming and adapting to it. But iv never had a test done or anything but just based off all the signs such as paranoia, delusions, music and tv talking to me,consistently recurring numbers, hearing things and recently starting to see stuffs not like people but like inanimate things? Idk it’s hard to explain. On top of being extremely gullible that has a fucked up family that can’t really trust anybody I can’t help but feel as if I’m losing it a bit lmao but that’s my take from my mindset currently from a “psychosis” perspective didn’t think I’d be giving a essay on a rand as post from a comment from a month ago but here we are😭✋ idk makes me feel good to talk abt it in a way

I’ve had my ups and downs smoking weed with psychosis. The vast majority of pot smokers tend to have a great and relaxing experience without any intentions of hurting anyone like I did throughout high school. It wasn’t until I got into college and noticed I had been developing psychosis like some of my family members did I realize I needed to stop smoking. Whenever I would smoke in late college I’d feel very hot and cold and would start heavily sweating while feeling extremely paranoid. I love how this podcast emphasizes that it truly depends on the person and that weed is a great medicine for the majority of ppl, however for a smaller percentage with mental issues like psychosis or schizophrenia, it can really easily sway ur brain into a psychosis state for those who are already experiencing symptoms. I personally think pot should be legalized recreationally as even though 1% of ppl who smoke with paranoid psychosis have a high chance of getting violent, the other 99% tend to have euphoric affects without any intent of hurting anyone.
When I started smoking weed it was amazing. Except for the few times I got too high and greened out. I used to laugh at stupid shit, eat a bunch of food, listen to music, and just have a great time. Slowly over time it started making my life feel like a blur. I would get high everyday almost all day. I felt like I was developing DPDR. I would forget if things had happened yesterday or was that 3 days ago? Or was that last week? My mind became numb and I was lazy as fuck. Then it turned into what I believe was an early onset of schizophrenia/psychosis. It started to make me extremely paranoid, even if I wasn’t that high. I would think everybody had ill intentions toward me. I’d think things I saw on social media and the internet were specifically for me / directed towards me and had a special meaning. I started to believe certain people were trying to contact me in some sort of coded anonymous way. I thought I was constantly being watched and judged, I heard people talking about me, etc. As soon as I stopped getting high this cleared up. What used to be a fun harmless drug slowly turned into a nightmare.
PsychedelicShaman just so you know there’s certain genes that 2% of the population have that basically make you prone to psycho breaks and can trigger your schizophrenia even if you’ve never had a episode it’s most common for men around the age of 20 that’s usually when you find out which unfortunately is around the time most people are at their peak when it comes to experimentation with different drugs so obviously to just blame the drugs and more specifically the weed wouldn’t necessarily be true it be a cop out
I’ve been smoking for 5 years with heavy use. Heavy enough that it was my normality. I didn’t even get stoned it just made me feel normal. I don’t smoke joints I had only smoked bong rips. Which is way more harsh and gets you a lot higher. I probably smoked about 6-10 bowls a day. Each containing atleast 0.2g I’m now 20. The first 2 days I was too scared to stay in my room. My room was scaring me. At one point I had to stand outside of my house to feel some sort of comfort. Plus Every single mistake I’ve made in my life is cycling through my head driving me insane. Whenever my pets go outside I’ll be sat at my window until they come back in. That’s how bad my paranoia has got. I’ve kinda had to deal with it by my self.

I've had the same journey as you with my mental health. I also suffered from psychosis but it is not permanent. It is from heavy Marijuana use. Also it sounds like a bad case of depression you have going on which heavy Marijuana use causes all the time. I use to stare out the window for hours at a time. Whenever I would visit friends/family I would zone out . I do it not as frequent now but ONLY when I smoked. You feeling better when you went outside is because u are couped up in your room for too long!! Give yourself a break, don't smoke until noon and after and stay in therapy. You are going to be fine 🙂 also prayer is the most powerful tool against this.

I know someone that lives over in Dr. Mike's country who lost her daughter to cannabis psychosis. Her daughter grew up on a farm eating organic produce and nutrient dense animal foods. She was extremely vibrant, athletic, and level headed. Within 6 months of first trying a dab pen and using continuously, her whole demeanor and life plans began to change. She ended up taking her own life and later they read her diary where she was expressing paranoid thoughts and hallucinations coinciding with when she started vaping with no signs of being unstable previous to cannabis use. The cannabis that is manufactured now is far from the natural plant with much lower thc content and balanced ratios that used to be cultivated in nature. It obviously doesn't affect everyone this way but if you dive into it you will find that this is a common story and many affected parents and family members have come together to help spread awareness.
There are no pros to the chemical compound THC in cannabis. THC is the thing that makes people "high." THC causes psychosis and other mental health problems through the same pathway. The CBD in cannabis is actually beneficial and causes less damage to the body and mind. CBD doesnt get you "high." In todays cannabis, the THC:CBD ratio is unbelievably high, which explains why more people have horrible side effects.

The violent crimes in Alaska are always rising, I heard of one murder happening last year in the capital (but it’s significantly smaller, only 32,000 people roughly) and it didn’t have to do with drugs at all. I think meth is a bigger problem and induces permanent psychosis much more often than weed, but those people almost always have specific issues with weed where it brings on paranoia and claim they cannot smoke anymore. There is also a huge huge lack of mental health facilities in the state that I personally feel like is keeping people with these issues homeless. I think the biggest factor is people are desperate and have no where to go here. It’s expensive to leave and if you already can’t pay the rent, the only way you’re getting out of the state is getting your life on track or going to federal prison.

I used to smoke all the time when I was a teen, then I got pregnant at 18 and after birth during post partum I tried to smoke again and it caused psychosis so I had to stop and now I’m too scared to even try it again. Drinking isn’t fun at all anymore either
Did it ever occur that maybe just maybe there’s something more underlying with you’re friend than simply just weed smoking bc I have a had friends begin panic attacks from smoking after a while but never psychosis or schizophrenia, only from like lsd or mushrooms weed don’t do that it’s bull
a large portion of both my parent's family became victims of alcoholism. some of them having their lives lost because they couldn't overcome their addiction. good reason to ban it, right? a substance responsible for ruining so many lives.
@Goatbe Bryant Could well be a possibility if you started smoking at 11. Brain is under massive construction at that age, plus most kids are still finding out who they are never mind taking mind altering drugs. Get what you mean tho, a good or bad experience will happen to someone, then they'll take their subjective experience with the drug and regard it as universal. Like when you see people who try weed for the first time and have a bad reaction (throwing up, paranoia, anxiety etc) and their view will instantly be switched to anti weed/legalization. Same goes for people who want it legal and readily available just because THEY have a good reaction. No one is the center of the world and both extreme ends of the anti and pro weed scale are equally pointless. Research and attitude to weed would improve of people looked at it objectively rather than going round in circles looking for a black and white answer to weed and it's effects.
what about CBD that comes from "weed" which shows anti psychotic properties and no recreational potential... 500mg CBD could be better than any anti psychotic on the market because of its lack of side effects when compared with typical anti psychotics
@@Sam-me5pl CBD does have anti psychotic properties, the problem is that modern weed is cherry picked to have a higher concentration of THC and lower concentration of CBD
@@sweetwaterbadrap7443 thats stupid 80% of schizoprenics smoked ciggaretes so nicotine cause schizoprenia?. and a lot of schizoprenics abuse drugs, theres no info that proves anything If was the drugs abuse that cause or they already had it
Had psychosis twice, schizoaffective disorder. Mixed results with weed depending on the strength, causes unpleasant over thinking more than anything, don't always enjoy smoking it when I have. Never felt like I'd be capable of killing anybody at anypoint, paranoid or not. Work in a psych hospital now and you do get people with violent tendancies who likely also have drug problems but see way more people who are victims of abuse/violence with mental health issues.
Before I ever touched drugs I would make immature decisions, now that I’m a smoker I can think situations through much more logically and realize how stupid I was, I’ve been testing and experimenting on myself and I can tell you cannabis definitely needs to stop being demonized and put under a umbrella with other drugs and linked with people with underlying illnesses, I believe it makes you more yourself
That could be, but if “more yourself” ends up being undiagnosed mental illness that’s not great. It’s not like the weed causes schizophrenia or anything, it only brings out what was already there and possibly exacerbates symptoms you never knew you even had.
I don’t think so. He’s passionate about this subject because of what he’s seen and how it is affecting people. I feel the same way because I get to deal with these kids and young adults who have obviously jacked up their synapses from heavy pot smoking.
@@slanttwo naw dude I think it's something else. He is extremely dismissed multiple facts being told from certified sources. I get being passionate but he's just being stubborn.
@@pob3987 it is when he's calling weed bad meanwhile he's attempting to take a neutral stance on a literal poison just because it's already accepted in wider society. and this is coming from someone who likes a good glass of kvass with a joint for dinner
@@pob3987 Hmmm so I wonder if alcohol possibly triggers violence or dare I say high rape stats too? Lol maybe all drugs come with risk factors and instead of targeting one, maybe Mr. Carpethead can do real research and compare the risk factors to all drugs including the legal ones.
I smoked weed for 6 straight years and never been a violent, paranoid person, I super rarely touched alcohol since as weed suits me better unlike alcohol which triggers me to do some things I wouldn't do while I'm high in weed. I just stopped because it's still illegal in our country which sucks and I might lose my job because of the random drug testing.
Thank you Joe Rogan for opening up this discussion and being open minded to all views. I lost my 19 year old son last year when he leaped to his death from a 9th floor balcony and I struggle with this question everyday. Was it me? Was it the abscense of a father? Was he bullied? Was it cannabis induced psychosis? I was not even aware he was using. Was it a combination of everything? Maybe he just fell. I'll never know. In the months preceding he developed disturbing szchizophrenia and psychosis. Personally, I don't care for cannabis or any other recreational drug so I am biased and judgemental. Still, I just blame my own poor mothering.
I wouldn’t blame your mothering, there are really horrible mothers out there and their kids don’t kill themself. I sure it would break your sons heart thinking you blamed yourself
I am a psychologist, and I am sure that you have heard this from your therapist (if you have one) suicide is not something happened suddenly, people should have mental genetic untreated issues during long time and it might have driven them into suicide, if your son had a serous mental issue you should have seen it as a mother. If I were you I would be convinced that it was an accident and he lost his balance and fell, that is the truth you should open your mind and accept it, I understand you may want to punish yourself and blame yourself but if you care about the truth you should accept that it was a horrible accident nothing more!
@@qazvin44you don’t sound like a psychiatrist and if you are you should definitely not being saying all this shit. Firstly I dealt with psychosis for a long time, my parents never knew. I was struggling quietly. It is not either of their faults. I was so paranoid I knew I couldn’t trust them. You can skip this part if just going into detail of why I felt I couldn’t tell them. (My psychosis episodes were all based on “being in the matrix”. I was convinced I was the only real person in the world, and all the other “beings” were just enemies who were running an experiment on humans [Me]. I thought what ever information I have them, by talking or just the way I acted, they would use against me. When i was around other people I acted as best as I could to pretend I didn’t have an insight on this information [That they were running an experiment, and that I had figured out everyone else were not human]. With that my parents or anyone around me had no idea what I was going through. Not saying that’s what your son was thinking exactly, and unfortunately we would probably never know what caused it. My point is there needs to be more awareness and advocacy for cannabis you and it’s negative effects. Don’t ever blame yourself for that. It was just an unfortunate event that was caused by a drug, out of anyone’s control but the user themself. Edit: I APOLOGIZE FOR THE PSYCHIATRIST ABOVE! I thought you were trying to blame the mother for not knowing her son was going through something. So disregard the part about me “calling you out” on being a psychiatrist.
@Josh Gaspar you can't be addicted to weed, not physically anyways. Yes it causes some paranoia but there's no evidence that it causes homicides nor suicides.
@Josh Gaspar so you met a guy in a psychward and you believe that he had some beers and weed now he's just crazy? Bro cmon you didn't just try to use a dude for your example that is literally in a psychward. Yes, but its not a physical addiction. You won't get the shakes from not having it for too long like with physical addiction.
@Josh Gaspar well that was quite literally the dumbest thing I've ever heard, that dude doesn't know if weed is why he's in and out of psychwards and from the way you make it sound he's only done once or only a couple times. You truly think that's going to make him crazy? Oh and you said he had alcohol how come that isn't the reason? Exactly. You are trying to push an agenda, you are grasping at straws.
He doesn't really know what he's talking about.. he sounds like one of those "I've never done that before but I know it's really bad." kinds of people.
After using for 15 years I developed anxiety disorder it started slowly last year but recently in April 16 I got it bad and still recovering to this day
Even though I rarely smoke marijuana through out many years and living the NYC, I've noticed every since cannabis was legalized the crime rate in this state has increased. #Facts💯
What he said was 100% true though. He obviously had bias but was more objective and had better studies then the other guy who was acting lien he was educated on the subject. There nothing wrong with occasionally smoking weed but you make your life it and protect it to the death.
@@benjamin1403 I think what you’re referring to is addictive personality disorder and that comes from genetics, you can be addicted to anything even sugar or caffeine but that doesn’t really have anything to do with the points this guy kept making about studies from early 1900s about cannabis saying that it causes psychosis, psyzchophrenia, and violent crime. These mental disorders are caused by genetics and people have these already going on in their brains just because smoking weed brings it out In people that already have a propensity for mental illness doesn’t mean it should be illegal or that it means that it causes mental illness it just brings it out in people that would already have mental illnesses. You are no different than this guy in the video who is just pulling information that is irrelevant and represents his biased ideas.
So I've been smoking for years and recently quit because I got sent into psychocis Over small periods at a time so it was barely noticeable, but I noticed and so did my family cause my brother is the same but yes if I have weed it'll sometimes send me into a psychosis that I believe people are trying to kill me like you said but it doesn't make me feel violent at all it makes me very scared as it does to most people that experience it for the first time and almost every time you never really get used to it, so it's people's response to the fear is what makes them act violent it doesn't make them angry or think violent things, it's a real response to a "real" situation in your head, and with me the best thing about me noticing my psychosis in the early stage is I was still conscious enough to realise hold on even if these people are trying to kill me I know somethings not right with me right now so it's probably just cause of that but just in case watch what happens and so it's the response to the fight or flight situation tbh some people will fucking freak out or some people try to relax and think rationally but I do believe there is a point where you miss the warning signs and if you do get stuck in psychosis without using anything the ability to think rationally is very hard and for some people they just don't and they don't try to cause it is a crazy experience, it's horrible, and that's why people commit these violent crimes, I thought my family was trying to poison me last time I slipped in psychosis and it's especially hard to say no it's not real because all of this is in your brain and it controls all your senses now all your primary sense are telling you that you're about to be murdered or somth I mean what would you do in a real situation like that so that's peoples thinking process when these horrific crimes happen and sadly these people are actually just like everyone else, although in the moment it is a chosen act of violence it is a natural response to the situation so your answer is no it doesn't in crease violence literally but technically it causes the brain to create a fake scenario that you have to react fight or flight to and majority of the people that already have irrational thinking will have more of an increase chance or resorting to violence, I figured this out not from studies I mean I've watched a few things but this is all personal experience and reflection and realisation you all should try it sometime 😂❣️
yep, I must say I heard one French Doctor saying that there were many people taking Antidepressants we're actually committing murder and he says too that these drugs are affecting the brain in some way that the Scientific community even didn't know what really does ...
"Associated". You keep using that word, I do not think it means what you think it means. Dihydrogen monoxide use is associated with 100% of violent criminals. Association is not the same thing as causation.
What he's saying is, its more likely and its true! Ive seen it around me i just quit smoking everyday all day and im so much less paranoid and i realise that people dont hate me like i thought.
The argument is that marijuana can create psychosis which results in violent crime with SOME individuals. It is NOT about marijuana generally causing violent behaviour in the mases. People commenting are too baked to understand the podcast lol. The guy brought up a solid argument that we need to do more research into the behavioural effects of marijuana, especially in mentally ill people, and with heavy or prolonged use.
at this point it is bucnch of angry people looking at the system that incarcerates them for ingesting natural plant life forms ... you think that will make a weird situation or what in the peoples m,inds? ... is that normal to ban nature and watch the people suffer from a lack of ingesting said nature ?
Who cares if his argument is mentally ill people can be affected, it's so low. on top of it we would have to ban alcohol, prescription drugs etc. Plus you can't corelate a single case to his point.
@@kalmykdude and to mess all of that guys views up = Cannabis helps the mentally insane people of the world ... it just does ... certain Varietals of cannabis plant even more so. Cannabis is a very diverse and sophisticated plant that cannot be placed into one category ETC......
This guy is an absolute troglodyte dont defend him. We’ve seen what pot does to people over the long term willy nelsons like 100 years old already and im pretty sure he hasnt murdered anyone
When I smoke, I get a migraine, worst nausea and non psychotic hallucinations 🤷♂️ But that's me I wouldn't claim everyone's gonna die due to it, people even get better pain managment for cluster headaches with pot
I have schizophrenia and my therapist and psychologist saw how my mental health was smoking vs non smoking and realized doping me up on pills was the wrong move
there is also a lot of phsycotic people that should not touch alcohol. it could go both ways. alcohol will always be far worse then weed. it has been proven that alcohol causes people to be angry.
@@brysongammill5182 I was going to say the exact same thing, psychotic people tend to not be able to handle alcohol either, often with worse consequences, yet alcohol is perfectly legal.
@@brysongammill5182 Certainly, the problem, though, is that the vast majority of people will agree with you that alcohol can cause mental states that are more likely to result in violence, whereas most people would disagree that marijuana can cause mental states where this is more likely. We need to be able to examine these things without shifting the focus, taking away from the point that's being discussed. Each problem deserves its own consideration.
You mean your smoking didn't induce psychosis and violent anger?! That's weird...I always heard of people smoking weed and then shooting up a mall with an AK47. 🤔(By the way I'm joking,it would be funny if it weren't so damn rediculous and sad)#legalizeit
I find this funny because all throughout life I have met people I wasnt sure of but once we passed a joint around it was an ice breaker for everyone to relax and chill.
